    Good kid!

Re: Kathryn Hamilton – Exactly the same thing I was thinking! What a bright and inspiring young teen. However you pronounce his name it is equally as interesting. I had no idea he was even gay until I watched the whole thing… Nonetheless, good for him for taking a stand and speaking up for what he believes in, regardless of his sexual orientation. He is a great role model for teens whether they are gay or straight!

I'm sorry, I am gay, but I really can't stand this little boy…

He is so smart and wise. I love how he walked onto the stage to greet ellen in a bouncy and happy manner. He speaks so intelligently, but at the same time he acts like a kid, but in in a mature manner.

He's truly someone special and hopefully this is only the beginning we get to see him in action.

  8. 8

While I respect this young man's views and courage to stand up for equal rights I have to ask why did the teacher ask the other student to remove the confederate flag belt buckle? I understand that it is used as a symbol of racism but the rainbow flag is meant to show "homosexual" or "welcome to homosexuality" while I am not going to debate gay rights (which I fully believe in) I think it was wrong of that teacher to ask that student to take their belt buckle off. Everyone is allowed to wear and express what they want, if someone wants to express that they happen to value a confederate flag belt buck someone should be able to express a rainbow colored belt buckle. Things like this tend to be in the gray area of freedom of expression. You may not agree with something but people will be who they are and what makes this country so unique because everyone's opinions do matter.

He's awesome. It is such a good thing to love yourself. Some people spend most of their lives getting to this point.

  14. 14

I commend what he did, but the fact remains that the teacher didn't have a right to tell the kid to take off the belt buckle. Wearing a confederate flag, an American flag, a gay pride flag, or whatever, is a person's right. I find it upsetting that our culture is apparently so taken with the idea of everyone loving each other and accepting each other that they forgot about our fundamental rights. He mentions it in the interview like it was nothing and like the teacher was doing the right thing by asking her to take it off.

THIS KID MUST HAVE STOCKHOLM SYNDROME IF HES GAY AND IS DEFENDING GAYS

  16. 16

I'm 12 gay I came out to everyone at 11 I made a gay day at our school where we all wear purple or rainbow something and Started a gay group at our school…i did more than he did and I'm younger!

Re: lizfest – Whats wrong with this is that being a racist is wrong and being homosexual is not. There is nothing wrong with the fact that someone wants to love someone regardless of what sex they are… wearing a rainbow belt buckle just says hey I love someone whos the same sex or I support all types of love…. A confederate belt buckle says im going to be ignorant and support racism… its not right. I live in the city where this happened and for the record perez this was not the kids teacher he doesnt go to the school where this happened which shows even more how brave he is.

ANY KID WHO IS THINKING ABOUT CORNHOLING OTHER BOYS AT AGE 14 HAS A SERIOUSLY SICK MIND. HE WAS PROBABLY MOLESTED BY HOMOSEXUALS HIMSELF. IF YOU WATCH THE FULL ELLEN APPEARANCE HIS FATHER WAS IN THE AUDIENCE AND HIS DAD LOOKS LIKE A DAMN GAY FAYGOT AS WELL.

  19. 19

    I love this kid!

  20. 20

    Bravo Gaeme!
You are far braver than I was at your age!
I hope your life continues to be full of good things!

  21. 21

Re: lizfest – No, you have no freedom when you are in school.

  22. 22

THIS KID CLAIMS IN THE INTERVIEW THAT HE TRIED TO COMMIT SUICIDE AT AGE 9 BECAUSE HE WAS GAY. EXCUSE ME BUT IF YOURE THINKING ABOUT GAY SEX AT AGE 9 THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG THAT HAPPENED IN YOUR CHILDHOOD. CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES SHOULD HAVE STEPPED IN AND FIGURED OUT WHO WAS ABUSING THIS KID

  23. 23

Re: so fresh so clean – It does not matter if what you are wearing says you are ignorant and support racism- you can still wear it. Since when are we not allowed to wear things that might "offend" certain people? That's why we have the right to free speech, it does not MATTER if it offends anyone! They could turn around and say that the rainbow flag is "offensive" and that they can't wear it just as easily.

  24. 24

That doesn't mean he was thinking about gay sex, dumbass. It means he knew he felt attracted to boys and not girls. Kids know at a pretty young age who they are attracted to. You obviously have a sick mind if you are assuming that a 9 year old knew all the details of gay sex. A kid who is heterosexual may not know "how" mean and women have sex but they know they are attracted to the opposite sex, and the same goes for homosexuals.

  25. 25

Re: MarioMonjack – And 14 year old heterosexual boys don't think about girls in that way? You need to grow up.

  26. 26

Re: kireland786 – You have no freedom while you are in school? Well that's interesting considering there been tons of lawsuits and other instances where student's rights were not considered and the schools had to pay the price for it. If you have no freedom or rights while you are in school, then you have no right to wear a gay pride flag, or organize a religious student group, or express your individuality at all. Seriously, think about what you are saying…

  27. 27

all I'm saying is that nobody can tell you what you can and can not wear
