That Many People Bought Bush's Book?

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TruePolitik

George W. Bush has reportedly sold more than 1.1 million copies of his memoir, Decision Points, 135,000 of which were e-books!

Stranger things - like the popularity of sparkling vampires - have happened, we guess.

Why would that be strange or hard to believe!? Not only was he surprisingly elected president the first time then he somehow got reelected. Perez you say some really stupid things sometimes.

  3. 3

Shame on everyone who bought this stupid monkey terrorist's book. Not only did you put money in his pocket, you also murdered a tree.

Russell's comment makes me laugh hysterically. Let's look at Obama being Mr. Progressive. What has Obama done? O' that's right, increased our debt and continues to do the ill-fated act of 'deficit spending.' He wasn't perfect, but look at what we have right now - he was much better than President Obama is currently. What has Obama done for gay rights? O' that's right - shot down two California rulings (one for marriage and the other for serving in the military). Nobody wants to be a democrat anymore because democrats don't have a clue about what to do in Washington D.C. Republicans aren't that much better, so let's get real: VOTE INDEPENDENT.

  6. 6

I am a diehard democrat and even I bought this book. I was curious to see what he had to say about his experience. And honestly no matter how much a president sucks, I think we should still respect them because of the huge responsibility and stress they went through for this country. Ofcourse you can criticize what they have done but we should definitely have some respect

  7. 7

not surprising. Even Bill Clinton highly recommends this book. I asked someone to get it for me for Xmas. I wasn't a fan of Bush while he was president, but having Obama as president has made me appreciate W in a way that I didn't before.

  8. 8

Why do people buy that crap? Why do they support somebody who is a killer? WHY?

  9. 9

It's an excellent book. Particularly great for the vast majority of the uninformed.

  10. 10

What's strange about that? He's a controversial guy who had a massive impact on U.S. and world history and politics - of course his book is going to sell well. God you people are simple.

  11. 11

You're still being an a$$, Mario.

  12. 12

Re: RussellBrand – I guess that makes you a GOD DAMN IDIOT PIECE OF SHIT DEMOCRATE.

  13. 13

That's a lot more than all the books you've written Perez. i.e Red Carpet Suicide and Perez Hilton True Bloggywood Stories….and for those interested is selling in Amazon.com for $2.32 (LOL)

  14. 14

Are you stuoid? Obama HAS DONE SO MUCH SO FAR!! Just do some research and you'll appreciate it. And as you might know, Obama does not make laws, the congress does. He only signs the bills. The power is in the house & senate. You need majoritiess for passing a bill- and this is very hard these times. Not Obama's fault.

  15. 15

    people love a good comedy……

  16. 16

Re: Burak Tekin – I agree! I think Obama had done alot soo far. We wouold have been in a depression right now if it wasn't for Obama. But my fellow Americans are ignorant and impatient. Yes we are still in a recession but Obama saved us from a depression. Noone can fix 8 years of turmoil in just 2 years

  17. 17

Re: Burak Tekin – Yeah, and who currently controls the house and the senate?? The Deomcrats do - Obama's own people (well, not for long) thank god. If he wanted certain things to be done - beyond healthcare & stimulus - he would have done them. So, your logic here fails.

  18. 18

Nice going to ANY moron that bought his book. You didn't think he and Cheney are wealthy enough rebuilding Iraq with Haliburton (Cheney's company) after Bush the asshole started 9/11 and destroyed an innocent (yeah, that's right innocent… at least regarding 9/11 anyway!) Iraq and costing thousands of Military Service Men and Women's lives? Don't you think those $'s you spend on his book are better spent paying down your credit cards? You're a dipshit if you bought his book (in short).

  19. 19

Curious Canadian here. Couple of things I'm wondering about. Why is it that the U.S. right-wingers think that Obama should have fixed all the nations problems in under 2 years? Who the hell could do that? And your country's economy nose-dived when Bush was President. Where was the outrage of the Republicans and the Tea Party when THAT was going down? And if the U.S. has such financial problems, how come the right wing isn't outraged that Bush saw fit to start a war (Iraq) that nobody wanted? Hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars that could have NOT been spent.

  20. 20

Re: TorontoBitch – I am a american and I wonder the same thing every time I hear people criticizing Obama. It is sad how ignorant some americans can be

  21. 21

Why wouldn't this book sell???? He was President of the United States during an attack on America!, won two elections into office, one which was very controversial, he declared war, our economic downfall came during his office, Hurricane Katrina….etc. etc. Democrats, Republicans, AMERICANS SHOULD READ THIS. It's on my Christmas wish list.

  22. 22

Re: Burak Tekin – You are an idoit!! So Bush is a killer?? Really??? What makes him one?? Because he served as President during war? What else??? You are lame and need to get a clue!

  23. 23

@Burak Tekin: When you say yeah it's not Obama who makes the laws, remember who was in CONGRESS when Bush was president…..oh yeah the DEMOCRATS. So basically you're a dumbass who contradicts his own argument.

  24. 24

Re: MandiBee – What? Bush won TWO elections? Correction. He won one…..the first one was handed to him by a judge. A right-wing friend of Jeb's, if I remember correctly.

  25. 25

It is actually quite a facinating read. A lot of historic things happened when he was president. As someone said before, you don't have to like him, but, he was the president.

  26. 26

George Bush murdered 250,000 Iraqi and Afghan civilians just to prove a point. He also caused the recession and destroyed our nations surplus…

  27. 27

Re: RussellBrand – An idiot is someone who is in the entertainment industry and decides to talk about politics. 1. it eliminates half your fan base(the more successful half) 2. you make a living out of sex and fart jokes. your intellectual value is reduced to sophomores in high school and that's reaching it. 3 you spent a majority of your life in another country so what gives you the right to preach about the American government?

  28. 28

    God Bless George Bush.

  29. 29

You're just pissed YOUR book didn't do that well, Mario!!

  30. 30

I guess all those Republicans wanted to look at the purdie pictures.

  31. 31

    Re: ShellK03 – I don't think it's really Russell……is it?

  32. 32

Bush had a very eventful presidency, and as we see Obama stumble and fall, we also see that Bush was not as bad as the liberal media made him out to be.

Just because someone's classified as a liberal, it doesn't mean that you have to think Obama is doing a good job, because he's not.

Just because someone's a good speaker, it doesn't make him a good president.

  33. 33

Re: The Dude! – Your ignorance is laughable. HA!

  34. 34

I beg anyone to look into the bills that are passed and see that ridiculous things that are being slid in there! When the new healthcare reform bullshit comes into effect, you're ALL going to be wishing you read into it. It's appalling — one fun fact: Page 280, Sec 1151: "The Govt will penalize hospitals for what the Government deems preventable re admissions." This means you will not be admitted when you should because the doctor initially treating you sent you home. Try to "wait" out your illness. Let's see how long you last before you get back into the doctor on the new "waiting list". I could go on forever…

  35. 35

Re: TorontoBitch – There are lots of us wondering that! But Americans (I hate to say) I believe are very impatient. We are in a world of instant gratification now, its really sad

  36. 36

Re: Burak Tekin – He seriously has! People are just impatient.

  37. 37

Re: Not my gumdrop buttons! – And your just a person living in the instant/impatient world… It took FDR 10 years to get us out of the great depression… And the only reason we were able to get out of it was because of WWII.

History will be much more kind to him, especially after a few more months…. I need say ===

History will be way more kind to him, after a few more months of the way it's going now. Just wait and see.

  41. 41

I have been working in HEALTHCARE for 33 years…… I see a HUGE RISE in Diabetes II from Cokes, fried food, flour tortillas,….where are the balanced meals, vegs, fruits,,,,,/ i would love to eat ENCHILADAS everyday…BUT I DO NOT….it's not good for you….
it is costing America so much….Anyone agree with me???????????? Shout out……..

  42. 42

If you want to read such TRIPE, get it from the library! Shame on ANYONE who puts more money in Bush's pocket by buying his stupid ass book.

  43. 43

russell brand you skanky piece of shit you need to be sand blasted and stay out of our country

  44. 44

you monkeys try being president and see how you do. better yet, try being president during an attack on the country and see how well you handle it.

  45. 45

You have to realize the Republican machine BUYS these books in masse and passes them out…all to make the authors appear to be more popular than they are

  46. 46

I'm sure people bought it as a competition, to see who can read AND understand all his gibberish first!

  47. 47

Re: ShellK03 – So wait, is that suppose to be the REAL Russell Brand? O r am I just slow and not getting what you say? Lol

  48. 48

Okay, comment bashing bush, not me, my little sister. I can believe this. I think whether he was a "good" or "bad" president, he was still president and WAS in office while A LOT of things went on in this country that was VERY important to the entire world. Some people just want to know what he has to say. And I'm sorry, but just because he may not have been the best president, it doesn't make him a bad person.

  49. 49

Re: JulesGules – Here in Canada, as you probably know, we have socialized medicine. I am constantly in shock, and/or laughing, at the mis-information Americans have about it. NONE of the the scare tactics the right-wing present are true (death panels, "waiting out" illness, can't pick your own doctors, etc.). Here, health care services are a right; just like police/fire services and public education. Is what you have now soooo much better? Not being able to afford insurance, having insurance but under the constant knowledge that you can be dropped if you get sick, or having claims denied. The most horrific, rejection because of pre-existing conditions. Yep, sounds good to me!

  50. 50

Re: Burak Tekin – You are a moron, judging by your picture i was able to determine that, but then your messages just put a stamp on it. Read the book…….or should i say a book and maybe one day you will have an intelligent answer.

  51. 51

Damn, I thought I was reading the postings on the Huffing Puffing Post for a while there, what a bunch of immoral discontents, anyway I was wondering how many books you ended up selling Perez? When you google your books they rank in the 100,000's….meaning that you suck…but we all know that and as for Mad Dog you comment hitys it on the nose about RussellBrand

  52. 52

Aren't you forgetting you people elected him TWICE?

  53. 53

I can guarantee 1,000,000+ were bought by the RNC and tardy teabaggers.

  54. 54

    Re: curiousred – ONCE.

  55. 55

Re: RussellBrand – Did you hear that George Bush library burnt down? Yes, all three books were destroyed. And the worst of it all, George did not get the chance to color them!

  56. 56

Re: David Austin Bryant – Yes, your right, they need toilet paper too!

  57. 57

First and foremost, just because you don't like former President Bush (or Republicans and Sarah Palin for that matter) doesn't mean an overwhelming number of people do. Additionally, he is a former president. Many people who care about things OTHER than celebrity gossip care to actually read books. What you do (blog about celebrity gossip and make yourself feel important by sharing your unsolicited opinions) is meaningless in this country but we are lucky we have these freedoms and appreciation for the other side is what makes the US so special. When will you figure that out? Maybe never.

  58. 58

Regardless of how you feel about President Bush, this is a great book to read for anybody who enjoys history or likes reading about presidents.
Anybody who hates this book just because it was written by a Republican or even just because it was written by George W. Bush is an idiot.

  59. 59

Bush rocks! He kicked the Talaban's ass while Obama want's to give them free citizen rights. Stupid democrats!
We all know the prez in charge now is Pelosi, not the token guy in the White House at the moment.

  60. 60

  61. 61

reminder to the american idiots who have so easily forgotten: bush was president during 9/11 and everything that followed, an extremely important time in american history. slam him all you want, but he dealt with some serious shit.

Re: Burak Tekin – Are you stupid or just playing stupid? Obama has had a SUPER majority in both houses, still does until January. He still has not been able to push legislation within his own party. Not a referendum on Bush policy making, but he was not in the majority for 4 years of his terms and he still has put through more policy than Obama ever is going to be able to. Damn…do some research before you spout stupidity.

  63. 63

Stranger things HAVE happened. The people of the USA elected a completely inexperienced, affirmative action communist as president.
