Even Leo Was Confused By Inception!

LOLs!

Glad it wasn't just us!

Leonardo DiCaprio confessed that even he was baffled when he first read Christopher Nolan's script for Inception. The actor said, "I needed to know implicitly where we were. It got incredibly confusing at certain points in the beginning, but the more we talked, the more I understood."

And he wasn't the only one! Nolan's wife admitted that Leo helped in making the script a little less complex, adding, "The work (DiCaprio) did on his character with Chris made the movie less of a puzzle and more of a story of a character audiences could relate to."

Well, thank goodness for Leo because we're not sure that Inception would have been such a hit without him!

What do U think? Was Inception too confusing??

I LOVED it… it was a little long but I thought the basis was amazing

  2. 2

Im not even a fan of Leo and thought the movie was amazing

  3. 3

Inception was amazing and I wasn't confused at all. I only wish this never becomes possible, because in the wrong hands something like this would be deadly.

  4. 4

It was confusing, and too long, we paid to see this in IMAX and it was SO not worth it, we could watched it in a regular theater and still have been just as confused. Leo and Joseph Gordon Levitt were the only entertaining things about this movie the Ellen Page shows nothing on her face but bewilderment and i think distractedx from the story rather than contribute……I dont know if she does botox or what but she is expressionless and as an actress she should be more dimensional

not only is he an amazing actor..hes sexy n hes smart…he believes in certain causes n has always shown such a maturity…love him

while i think leo is a great actor this movie was crap! much too long and way too confusing. if you even stopped paying attention for a minute that was it. I really regret watching it.

  7. 7

Inception was some hardcore pseudo-intellectual BULLLSHIT. The visuals were stunning, I'll give you that. But I found the script very convoluted.

  8. 8

best movie ever!!! it was confusing but that made it such a better movie, there was actually depth to this movie

  9. 9

I guess when you have to think in a movie. It's a problem for some of you simpleton's

  10. 10

i didn't think it was too confusing. though, you definitely had to pay attention to detail. no bathroom break or talking! i loved it.

  11. 11

I liked the movie but at some point I lost it and I didn't know what was happening anymore. Ellen sucked in this movie. Not a single face expression

  12. 12

I didn't like the movie at all, they just threw it weird shit that makes people confused so the movie will seem "deep" but it was just stupid .

  13. 13

Slightly confusing and too long. Wouldn't watch a sequel.

  14. 14

the movie was great and Leo did an amazing job in it!!!!

  15. 15

Disliked it a LOT although the acting was good. Overrated. Not a Chris Nolan fan because everything he makes is confusing.

Interesting concept - infiltrating another person's dreamworld but watching it was like joining the dots in reverse. Confused and confusing plot development, too long and the star of the show as usual in Hollywood - special effects. Who writes really good dialogue any more? SOS James L. Brooks.

  17. 17

Inception wasn't rocket science. The whole concept was explained in detail by Leo's character. If you seriously thought this movie was sooo confusing, well, that says more about you..

  18. 18

I think Disney has a movie coming out for Christmas. Perhaps that is better suited to your brain limitations.

Re: PrincessKrysi – How can you not be a fan of Leo's? He's one of the VERY FEW doing the 'high-end' movies in Hollywood! The rest are just cranking out simple, bubblegum commercial crap.

Movie was very easy to understand… this coming from a mom that usually doesn't get it and is always asking Dh wth is going on. It was a good movie and I'm not into movies too much these days

  21. 21

Why do people keep harping on about how confusing Inception was? Are people really that stupid??? The movie was straightforward and easy to follow.

If tards were confused by Inception, I'd hate to see them attempt to follow the "plot" of a David Lynch movie…

  22. 22

Holy crap, really? How anyone could find inception confusing is beyond me. =/ That totally says something about people…

  23. 23

    no, BEST MOVIE EVER

  24. 24

I can see how if you got up to go to a bathroom break during the movie you could return to your seat and be a little lost at first. But this movie really isn't as confusing as it had been made out to be. I loved the concept.. Loved the cast.. Love the director.. LOVE this movie! Can't wait for it to come out on DVD.

Re: Moogle80 – Not rocket science but not well crafted cinema either. The first twenty minutes was a mess which failed to establish the relationship between the DiCaprio character and the Asian character or what the film was about. BTW an admission that I find something confusing does not mean I am stupid as your comment seems to imply. The onus on any film maker is to engage and sustain the interest of his/her viewers for the duration of the film - on that score this director failed IMHO.

  26. 26

Inception was amazing, it totally blew my mind.
The only thing was that it was extremely intense, and by the end I was questioning whether I was in a dream myself!
Its kinda scary how movies like that can get you thinking!

  27. 27

Inception is a discussion piece because of the open ending. The actors were insanely good, and the story was one of the most unique and new age yet. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but most people who read literature and watch movies with any form of substance have already encountered situations like this, and that is why I am more inclined to think that if the confusion of the plot offends you then you need to open your mind a little bit more. Or watch the movie again…because there are only so many possibilities for what could have happened.

  28. 28

Inception was confusing to people who care about things like Lady Gaga,Glee, Lindsay Lohan, Twilight etc.

  29. 29

Re: EspritDePoor – I'm not the only one implying that. Why is it a fail on the director's part when YOU think the first 20 minutes were confusing because relationships weren't established? I didn't think it was confusing or causing a problem at all. Then again, I saw Inception as one big business deal, so the fact that relationships weren't established or explored didn't matter to me. It wasn't about the relationships (or characters for that matter), it was about the operation all of them participated in. There are movies out there that take 90 minutes before you actually get what's going on. That's a choice a director makes, not a fail persé. I mean, have you ever watched a David Lynch movie?

    Re: Moogle80
"It wasn't about the the relationships (or characters for that matter)". That just leaves the special effects. Touche!

Re: Loganna – Please do me the courtesy of re-reading the original Perez post titled "EVEN LEO WAS CONFUSED BY INCEPTION". That means deary that one of those 'insanely good actors' you acknowledged, a person intimately acquainted with the script, who had read it say 20 times and memorised his part, FOUND ITS PLOT STRUCTURE CONFUSING as did I.
If you "got it', good for you. I personally see little merit, artistic or otherwise in constructing an unnecessarily tedious and convoluted narrative structure in a film. So why should I 'open my mind' to other films/books that employ the same pretentious technique - BORING. If you want to smugly congratulate yourself for effortlessly comprehending the plot here while mere mortals like myself who lack your intellectual superiority or magnificent breadth of knowledge struggle then perhaps YOU HAVE LOST THE PLOT.

Re: EspritDePoor – No… it doesn't… you are really weird hahaha!
