Teens Rescued After Being Stranded At Sea For 50 Days!!

This is an amazing story!

Three teenagers were rescued after spending 50 days adrift at sea in a small rowing boat.

The teens, Edward Nasau, 14, and Samu Perez and Filo Filo, both aged 15, were found Wednesday northeast of Fiji by a tuna vessel that had spotted them.

The boys survived on nothing but coconuts, raw fish, water trapped by a tarpaulin, and even a seabird that had landed in their boat.

One of fishermen who found them said, "In the physical sense they looked very physically depleted." but said that mentally, their spirits were very high.

The boys had been presumed dead and earlier this month, their families held a memorial service for them.

The fisherman added, "There's a lot of living left in them."

Wow. Unbelievable. So glad they were found alive and well.

The human spirit is really unbelievable. Whenever you think you've had a bad day remember these guys.

This story is a testament to the will to survive and the resilience of the human spirit.

This is celebrity news how? I wouldn't have lost any sleep had their boat gone down faster than Lindsay Lohan at a crack party.

It's always amazing to hear things like this. I'm thrilled for these kids and their families getting this unbelievable news!

Re: The Dude! – The families had already had the funeral services for the boy and his two cousins, and then weeks later, there they are, like a giant gift. It's just one of those larger than life stories. Come on, they survived in a freaking row boat, collected rainwater, fished and killed a seagull to survive. It's worth a mention as much as yet another random rich celebrity pairing report.

Re: @v@ – Well said (honestly), and a GREAT story granted. I've lost a TON of loved ones, so I'm even sympathetic. I didn't say I thought this story wasn't a good one. But still unclear as to how this is celebrity news. And yes… great if we heard more GREAT news like this instead of all the downer crap all the time. Thx. for the kind response to my post.

Kinda sucks for that seagull though.

And they were found on THANKSGIVING … be grateful people … we all think we have it so "bad" and when you put it into perspective, no one reading this has had to miss a meal … much less 150 of them.

Re: jsqtsa – They are islanders, they are from an island, what do you expect they would be doing??? Move away from your armchair!

  13. 13

If they were adrift at sea, where did they find coconuts? Bobbing in the ocean?

Re: The Dude! – What if it was Jonathan Livingstone Seagull?!!
OvO! I guess they'll get a pass on being grounded for taking the boat out without permission. 50 days is as good a grounding as any kid needs.

There are so many other things going on in this world, that I find it disturbing that so many who comment on this blog spend their time slightling celebrities and demeaning one another. You are obviously lack a fulfilling life. Those of us who are fulfilled do not spend our time putting people down. We do not spend our time writing a comment on the blog only to continually checking it again and again and again and again, to see if someone disagrees with so that we can virtually fight another. I feel sorry for the regular hateful commenters b/c you are missing the point of life. Whatever you may think of any celebrity is irrelevant, b/c what you say about them does not dictate their life, much like your opinion of my comment will never affect my life, b/c I will never see it. I look forward, never back. Who cares if you hate Miley Cyrus or a Backstreet Boy? Who cares what they do or what they have to say? Nobody except the pathetic 4/20's and Mr. Eldersburg or whoever that name is. I feel sory for them. I feel for those that have that have to deal with them daily. They hate Perez but do nothing but sit on perez's site all day looking for fights to their comments. What a life! I feel sorry for you hateful people and hope that one day you can find peace within yourself so you don't have to put others down. Instead of projecting your insecurites on others, work on yourself, so that one day you can become a better person

I guess if they were resourceful, they couldn't fed off of each others' 'protein', you know, suck each other off. Sort of cannibalistic, but when you're in survivor mode, if you got milk, share it, and live another day.

Re: PeaBeu – haha, sorry i can't move away from my armchair coz your big freaking ass is in my way~

I know that you are not a news service, but why do you always post things 2 or 3 days after everyone else.

  21. 21

It's not 'Samu Perez', it's Samuel Pelesa. These three guys are my cousin's husband's nephews.

  22. 22

50 DAYS! This is amazing :)

  23. 23

Ah, coconuts, fish, seabird, water…true determination to survive. =] I am glad they are okay!

  24. 24

WOW!! Pretty damn amazing. I'm happy for them and their parents. It's almost like they came back from the dead!
