David Lynch Releases Two Songs On iTunes!

We had no idea he had such varied interests!

Director David Lynch has turned his attention to music. He is signed to England’s Sunday Best label and plans to release a full album. For now, he has two songs available on iTunes.

Lynch said:

“We’re working on a lot of things, and we hope to have an album soon. All of this to me is an experiment. We were calling it kind of a modern blues — music based on the blues. It’s led to all sorts of different things, but I really want to do a modern blues album.

There’s nothing I can say in terms of what the rules are, but there is a feel. It has to be anchored in something strong and pure, and it’s modern in that it’s joining with all the things you can do these days in ProTools.

The advancement in digital things means there’s a whole slew of possibilities. I love organic phenomena. I love the real, rough sound of blues. I love a heavy guitar and great, strong drums. Then there’s so many things that can be done to it that will modernize it."

Check out a preview of his single Good Day Today (above).

Sounds like the Twin Peaks theme by Angelo Badalamenti sped up.
Get the popcorn while his estate sues Lynch.

    Garbage!

This is NOT blues. Can someone please rewind to Chicago 1948 or Georgia 1952 and listen to real blues. Please just tell it like it is, more electronic bull.

Re: litnight – I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't working together on this project. I really like "Falling" by Julie Cruz. I could hear it in this offering.

Very synthie, very weird. Hounddog (side project of Los Lobos) did it first and better…and actually *is* bluesy.
