Lady GaGa Says Born This Way Is The Greatest Album Of The Decade!

| Filed under: Music MinuteLady GaGa

Wow! With this kind of conviction and compassion, we think that she might be very right!

Lady GaGa is busy performing her Monster Ball tour all over Europe, and while in Poland, she revealed to her audience that she believes that her new album, Born This Way, has the potential to be the greatest album of the decade!

She said:

"I promise you, I'll never let you down. And not for nothing: The album's finished and it's fucking really good. So whatever this is, whatever you just did for all of us…I promise to give you the greatest album of this decade, just for you. The funny thing is that some people have reduced freedom to a brand. They think that it's trendy now to be free. They think it's trendy to be excited about your identity. When in truth, there is nothing trendy about Born This Way. This connection that we all share is something so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or an outfit, or a fucking meat dress. Born This Way is about what keeps us up at night and what makes us afraid."

Such powerful words! We cannot WAIT to hear the "fucking sledge-hammering dance" that she's promised, especially if the words and music carry the message that she's describing!

We are MORE than ready for the greatest album of the decade, and we DOUBT that you could disappoint!

Bring it, bb!

well considering we're only in year one of the decade, I think Gaga needs to check her ego at the door and come up with more than fluffy dance tunes if she really wants to claim that title. so far though, she's not exactly shown herself to be a rocket scientist with words or music - just good pop.

and really, she's needs to quit demeaning her fans who she apparently thinks are a bunch of doe-eyed misfits.

  2. 102

This is just enough. Who does she think she is? I honestly love this woman when she first came out, but this is just too much. Greatest album of the decade? Hmm, why do I have the feeling this album will be the same electro-dance shit she does? If she keeps going like this, she will lose her fans, and interest. First the meat dress and now this? Fuck you, you narcissistic fame whore!

Re: Abdiel Sanchez Gaud – It's so nice to see that you're defending your Mommy Monster, but face it - PEOPLE ARE GETTING TIRED OF HER. She is shoved up in our faces 24/7 and it's getting annoying. Yeah, she is talented, but she's NOT the most talented and never will be. Her music is catchy, but forgettable. Will somebody want to listen to Alejandro after 10,15 years? Hell no. And she is so full of herself seeing how she makes these stupid comments all the time.

"so far though, she's not exactly shown herself to be a rocket scientist with words or music - just good pop."
No one said she was trying to be the next Joni Mitchell. Fluffy dance tunes are what have made huge careers for people like ABBA and Madonna.

    Foder for SNL segment, REALLY?

    Re: Mushu Baby
"And then Perez hilton used his blogging power to hype her up and make her big!!! You are soo damn stupid!"
If Perez' blogging power was all that powerful, than every artist he promotes would be selling through the roof. Don't give him too much credit for her success.

  7. 107

I like her less just for saying how GREAT her album is. She is a dumb shit… she should know that music is SUBJECTIVE meaning there can be no GREATEST album of the decade. Stupid pretencious girl

  8. 108

even parents to ugly kids think their children are the greatest. everyone loves their own product. gaga is dellusional. the only test for her will be the test of time. she should just stfu and sit down and just calm down. its like she continues to point out how good her album is gonna be to keep the flame burning. and shes fug too

  9. 109

i love lady gaga but some of the shit she says is just too fucking ridiculous. i am a fan of modesty. nothing wrong with being confident but this will be the fucking album of the decade, that is just setting yourself up for a huge disappointment. I hope it is amazing but let me decide that on my own without you building it up too much. and just you know sing and shut up.

I think Lady Gaga is talented she has a very nice voice. That is pretty much all. She is great entertainment!! The music that was written for her is catchy. But trust me when i say this its not music that is going to be remembered in 10 years. All her music is forgettable just like all the other "new" artist these days. I think the last time great music was produced was during the 80's/90"s. I won't judge her album until i hear it. But I wont hold my breath.

    ego check.

  12. 112

Guess she didn't have any humble pie for Thanksgiving

  13. 113

    two words gaga.michael jackson
enough said, thats why its impossible for you to ever be the best…

  14. 114

Re: I like things that sparkle. – Sorry, but if you read my post you will see that I never defended her in any way, I just posted facts. You're just too blind by your OMGIHATEGAGA that you fail to see that and if someone doesn't post hatred towards Gaga you get offended. Also, sorry but the fact is that while lady gaga IS indeed recieving more hate by the minute, this is only normal in her fame. Her fanbase is still 100+ times more than the people who hate her. Like it or not that's how it goes. People will always get tired of something. ALWAYS. It's up to her and her style if she refreshes things and brings new stuff. The same stuff you just said could be said about every other pop star out there. Get out of your hate bubble.

  15. 115

Re: JLa – I agree with you JLa. While her tunes are catchy, I don't see anyone really listening or remembering her music 10 years from now.
Unlike MJ or Madonna or even Cindy Lauper. Those pop tunes are CLASSICS!
And Lady GaGa is not classic.

  16. 116

so its out this year? otherwise it's next decade..

  17. 117

Re: I like things that sparkle.
Will people want to listen to "Single Ladies" 20 years from now? "Umbrella?" "Tik Tok?" "Womanizer?" Hell, 25 years ago, people were asking that about Madonna's music. I don't know how old you are–I'm assuming 20s–and I'm not poking fun at your youth, but you'd be surprised as you get older what "meaningless" pop songs that you thought were lightweight and disposable brings a smile to your lips and some memories 20 years on down the line.

  18. 118

Re: DanielDax – That was my point. Pop songs like those are forgettable, not just Gaga's music, every one who makes songs like that. I myself am not a fan of this kind of music, so I wasn't really saying I prefer Kesha's music over Gaga's. These songs have no meaning and I don't see what's so great about it.

  19. 119

More like the biggest turd of the decade. Chick is more schtick than talent.

  20. 120

When is she going to flush herself down the toilet? I find her so disgusting. At the same time you PIGFACE should flush yourself down also.

  21. 121

WOW, can't wait. Love GaGa, have ever sense Just Dance (fell in love with that song) and I still do.

  22. 122

PIGFACE and CACA need to get over themselves. What a bunch of fools.

  23. 123

I'm going to laugh when it comes out and theres all dance pop songs on it. She's really blowing it out of proportion. It's just pop music. Take it easy >.>

  24. 124

Girl just can't stop over hyping shit.

  25. 125

she's starting to sound like a female kanye. she sounds like she has a really huge, inflated head already. not good.

  26. 126

I can't wait for her to disappear!

  27. 127

Re: SarahFugfacicaHerpes – haha you relate people to food… $10 says you're obese

  28. 128

I love Gaga… and that's it… ya'll can say you hate her but why are you on a web page hosting an article about her? secret love!

  29. 129

Mark my words, bitch…this album will open big. And then drop so fast your head will spin. Everybody is sick of her. Everybody.

  30. 130

Re: secretstar – no the new decade just started

  31. 131

I love her music so far but saying her next album is the best in a decade is
kind of arrogant. Just my opinion.

  32. 132

Re: I like things that sparkle.
But "meaningful" songs tend to be overrated and appreciated a lot of times by people who don't know or pretend to know the real meaning. And who wants to always dissect and overanalyze the meaning of a pop song? When I want to listen to meaning, then I'll listen to the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Sex Pistols, Nirvana, etc. When I want to dance my ass off, forget about my own troubles or the troubles of this world, drive in my car singing at the top of my lungs like a fool, or get through a shitty day, then I'll listen to Abba, The Spice Girls, Madonna, Rihanna, GaGa, etc. Everything out there serves some kind of purpose. Pop music is what it is. And it's safe to say, I can remember some of the more "meaningless" or forgettable songs from 20 years ago than the ones that were supposedly meaningful.

  33. 133

I'm not a fan neither do I care for her but oh boy is she setting herself up
If this cd is anything less then orgasm for the ears it will be a huge disappointment
I've heard gaga songs and I'm not to sure she can come up with a timeless classic like some musicians have before
even when I sing some of her songs I have no idea wtf she is talking about and honestly every thing about this girl gets more boring and less interesting by the day

I used to LOVE lady gaga a while ago. I trully believe she could be very smart/talented. I think THE FAME was purposely created as a catchy/generic pop album to HOOK people. The Fame was an attention grabber, ON PURPOSE. HER REAL WORK, which will be BORN THIS WAY, will probably be full of BALLADS and other type of songs RADICALLY DIFFERENT from THE FAME. ""When in truth, there is nothing trendy about Born This Way. This connection that we all share is something so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or an outfit, or a fucking meat dress."" She says BORN THIS WAY is not trendy. It will be well…different. Most of us might not like it and she will go on a downward spiral from then on. I think.

  35. 135

She was fucking great tonight in Holland. Undescribable.
I've seen this show for the 2nd time, now. Waiting in the lines, in the snow… It was freezing… But it was all worth it.

Lady Gaga, thank you so much for giving me a night to not forget. You have set me free. I'm a little monster and I'm proud of it.

    Ik hou van jou,

    kleine monster.

  36. 136

I can't wait 2 hear it and experience it!! lol

  37. 137

okaay yeah maybe her choice of words were not so good but just think what if she was really excited at the time they asked her this question we all make mistake and by the way lady gaga is fucken awsome shes a great performer so all of you dumb ass harters need to shut the fuck up an judge her after her album comes out !!!!!!

  38. 138

    CONTEXT people, CONTEXT.

What was the context of this quote? A Gaga concert.

And the majority of the audience would have consisted of? Gaga fans (many of which were probably these 'superfans' I hear so much about)

And finally, what does she actually fucking say?

"I promise to give *YOU* the greatest album of the decade, just *YOU*" - and by 'you', I take it to mean her fans that understand, or resonate with, or feel liberated by, the message that Gaga will put forth in Born This Way. It is to these people who Gaga claims to have potentially made, for them and in their eyes, one of the greatest albums of the decade.

So whilst this does still mean shes implying her music will be some of the best in a decade - a questionable claim as is any other extraordinary in nature - its about much more than that; one has to take into account her overriding message and so on.

Don't get me wrong, I do not expect perez hilton of all websites to advocate forward thinking, reading comprehension, basic human decency with regard to others, an awareness of when one is acting in a petty/ignorant/moronic/dismissive/pathetic manner (all of which are terms one can easily apply to this laughably *pathetic* set of comments) but… it would be nice if people were aware of it all the same.

  39. 139

Yo Gaga, I'm really happy for you and imma let you finish, but Kanye West has one of the best ego trips of all time. Best ego trips of all time!

Re: I like things that sparkle. – haha, that comment made me smile.
I liked her first album 'The Fame' because her songs were very dance-able, catchy, and in clubs, people like Deadmau5 and Tony Arzadon could make good remixes, but when 'The Fame Monster' came out, I found it disappointing. Her new album may be the greatest album of the decade to her fan base, but I'm sure by 2020, someone new will come along and take the pop throne. Pop music is constantly evolving, and unless she can evolve with time (like Madonna has done), she's just going to be an image from 2010 like other pop artists have during their point in time.

  41. 141

That sounds pretty deep so far her song have been completely meaningless so lets hope this album actually does!!!

  42. 142

She's a spoiled brat from a wealthy prep school in Manhattan…she wasn't a loser or misunderstand. It's all an image and she's so full of it. It's sad so many people choose to ignore the truth and believe an image. She's the new Kanye West

  43. Oysho says – reply to this

Lady Gaga is getting boring, her acts are all the same. Some might say "You haven't even seen her perform live." or "You're in denial." Well my answer to that, yes I have seen her and she's good I'm not denying. But her talent only can reach that far. I think this is the limit.

  44. 144

Neither "speechless" nor "You and I" warrants Gaga's stardom. Without her pre-2008 songs she would have stayed a nobody. Considering "Redone" says "Born this way" is her "liberation" album, and by that, in effect, applies some distance to it, makes me wonder. And now this hubris. Best album in a decade?!? If it is half as good as "fame" I would be surprised.
