This sounds like a fantastic idea, but we hope that they keep the two series separate!

Kevin Williamson, the creator of The Vampire Diaries, has reportedly been tapped by the CW to develop a "companion" series to the show, which will focus on a group of paranormal researchers!

According to insiders, the show is still in early stages of development, but the network is shooting for it to air next season, and as of now, no cross-overs are planned between the two series.

Excellent! We think this has a lot of potential - especially with Williamson on board!

It's not going to be a spin-off in the sense that characters will travel from one to the other. It's going to be like Buffy meets the X-Files to quote those sites. It's sounding a lot like Supernatural, only the two main characters wouldn't be brothers and they'd be feds. There hasn't been a script written and right now it's in the very beginning stages. If you're going to just link to Watch With Kristen and report half of what she (and several other news and fansites) have said why don't you just copy it word for word and give them the credit they deserve for THEIR research.
