  3. 3

if someone can't take off their Lennon glasses and show some respect I don't give a rats fat ass what their saying…………

  4. 4

Why isn't anyone else who is apart of the "it gets better" campaign and is making money off making videos and songs about it doing something about this as well? Is it just trendy to them or something? Oh well at least there is one major pop star that actually cares and is using her voice for something useful.

  5. 5

    Good for her!

  6. 6

I just can't comprehend how a policy like DADT was even implanted in the first place, I mean people weren't that ignorant in 1993, were they???? It really boggles my mind that we call humans "intelligent" when they can't even understand the simple concept of accepting people for who they are. There was no need for this back in 93 and there is no need for it now. END DADT! P.S. Thank you GAGA you truly have a beautiful soul.

  7. 7

    Please go away already!!!

  8. 8

Dear self loathing haters, stay pressed.

  9. 9

I hate to tell you this but sadly it will never get repealed, and GaGa don't ever presume to speak for me.

  10. 10

I like how ignorant people like Gaga and Perez can be. It IS ok to hate, that is part of freedom of thought. Forcing people to "like" everyone is a form of mind control. This is a country of freedoms, not fantasy. With those freedoms come the good and the bad. I'd rather have the freedom to hate than have the government force me to think a certain way.

  11. 11

Re: MadonnaLive – Why is it that you are so obsessed with Lady Gaga and Madonna that you can not stop talking about them both at the same time? Child you need help, like seriously why would anyone read stories and comment on people they hate so much? Why not just ignore them? Also Madonnas music in the last 20 years has really been hit or miss I doubt she'll have a huge "come back" Unless she can get back to the music that people fell in love with her for not some shitty dance track with another star to get more airplay *cough* 4 Minutes *cough*

  12. 12

    Re: MadonnaLive
When did Madonna ever say her album would be the greatest ever?

  13. 13

Apparently, she just assumes her fans aren't very informed. She might 'love' her fans, but she sure as hell doesn't respect them.

  14. 14

Re: PerezTheHypocrite – How is the government forcing you to do something? If you are not gay then you are not affected by the subject we are the ones affected by the government. You are free to hate but we are not free to serve openly and marry. But if you do hate gays then seriously why are you here?

  15. 15

    Re: MadonnaLive

Why can't you simply enjoy Madonna and her music without slamming others? Looks wise: GaGa copied Madonna, Madonna copied Debbie Harry, Debbie Harry copied Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe copied Jean Harlow.

  16. 16

    Re: LizardKinG

Hi Lizard. I think it will someday.

  17. 17

Re: bowlerderby – Most people under the age of 25 are not interested in politics and even after that age a lot of people still aren't informed so I'd say it's fair to say that most people in this country do not know about this

  18. 18

stop wearing lennon glasses!!! trying to steal everyone's trade mark. dumbass gaga

  19. 19

Re: Laroccakiddd – it's not about being ignorant, it's about a difference of opinion and yes, 17 years ago people were less open to homosexuality, esp with the AIDS epidemic running rampant then.

  20. 20

Re: jordanjm – marriage is between a woman and man - not two men and not two women.

  21. 21

Who cares what Perez "I can't fight my way out of a wet paper bag" Hilton or this meat dress wearing freak thinks about ANY policy that our military has. Neither could or would serve so really just go pound sand you whining morons.

  22. 22

Re: jordanjm – if they care so much about DADT and the equal rights scream about not having, maybe they should take the time to be more informed instead of relying on Lady Gaga to provide them with daily updates……..

    23

    I have an idea….Don't Ask Me Who I'm Fucking and I Won't Tell You Who I'm Fucking….oh, wait….that would be DADT..oops.

  24. 24

DADT - Those of you who try to beat the drum that says this is all the republicans doing need to face the truth. The DEMOCRATS passed DADT into law. A DEMOCRAT congress, under Bill Clinton. They’ve had majorities in the House and Senate for the last 4 years. Since 2006! You can keep whining that the GOP is to blame for it not being repealed, but it is BS. If the dems had wanted it repealed, they could have done so. Why didn’t they repeal DADT when they had the votes? They could have, they didn't. Open your eyes.

  25. 25

Oh and not for nothing, Martin Luther King, Jr. was a republican!

  26. 26

Re: WatcherOne – you are probably the smartest person on this thread! Well-said and explained.

    27

will the real dumb bitch please shut up!

speaking out is for people with brains, caca.

  28. 28

It really is a shame the gay rights movement doesn't have a less embarrassing spokesperson than Lady Gaga.

  29. 29

Re: April 20th – 100% agree with you! I hate it when stars can't bother to take their sunglasses off for an interview-get over yourself!

Lady GaGa needs to STFU and go away. She's such a poser.

  30. 30

Re: WatcherOne – I love you. Both of your responses were fantastic. People are so quick to blame one side or the other without knowing the facts. Thank you!

  31. 31

Alexander the Great was gay and Julius Caesar was bi in the military over 2000 years ago! Why anyone has any kind of problem with gays serving openly in the military (or gay anything) in 2010 is beyond me.
Minus the shitty religion/bigotry this country would be a much greater one!

  32. 32

Re: WatcherOne – President Clinton has expressed his regret for enacting DADT in several recent interviews and fully explained why he felt justified at the time. Clinton has also changed his mind regarding same sex marriage and now publicly supports it.
As for the repeal it is fully supported by congress. The repeal of DADT is being held up in the Senate by a little "snag" called the filibuster which is being led by John McCain. The Pentagon is urging congress to speed up the repeal process during the lame duck session since it will likely not pass once the new GOP congress is sworn in.
Don't take my word though-the facts are all out there. All you need to do is check into it.
    -
Oh, and the Republican party has changed just a little (lol) since MLK.

  33. 33

Re: LizardKinG Re: Rubber Rat – I think it will be repealed as well. President Obama has gone on record several times promising to repeal DADT. Now he needs to deliver!

  34. 34

It's cool she's for gay rights and all (so is every other artists) but come on now. Who takes her seriously?

  35. 35

Re: MadonnaLive – If some cant figure out the difference between their and they're, i dont give a rats ass what they are saying.

  36. 36

    Re: April 20th

Really? My lesbian friends are legally married. So, this means that their marriage is between two females.

  37. 37

    Re: supersongbird

    Hi There! Agreed!

  38. 38

So how long is she going to milk the LGBT Community like she's doing now?

    39

Re: seriouslybodoh – you're the dumbass because they aren't lennon sunglasses. number one they're way too big to be lennon glasses. you obviously lack intelligence when it comes to fashion so get your shit in check. number two, TONS OF PEOPLE WEAR THOSE GLASSES! SO SHUT UP AND QUIT TRYING TO SAY SHE'S STEALING AND COPYING!

  40. 40

Obama and the Dems screwed the gays. They had two years to do something and… nothing. Come January, it will be too late.

PS.. Getting sick of Lady CaCa. She's way overexposed.

  41. 41

Oh boy, exactly what the world has been waiting for! Another pop star thinking that people are interested in their political opinions!

  42. 42

Re: Mad Dog – The Senate needs 60 votes to pass legislation otherwise a Senator (in this case John McCain) can filibuster and block it.
President Obama has power to end DADT by executive order, but knows legally the right way and final way to repeal is to vote it out through Congress and the Senate. If that fails, he needs to get out that pen and put it end it.
    -
President Bush used homophobia to his advantage to get out the Christian right redneck vote in 2004. So don't even go there with Obama and Democrats screwing over any gays.
Just why is it that January will be too late anyway?

  43. 43

Re: Rubber Rat – Hey I love your posts and screen name!
Gay marriage is legal in my state too. Nice to live in a civilized place where equality can exist without alot of bigots and hillbillies running amok! Lol

  44. 44

Re: supersongbird – Bush did oppose the repeal of DADT but don't forget, it was Clinton who first signed it into law. Obama and the Democrates could have tried to repeal DADT. Even if it was blocked by filibuster, they would have gotten credit for trying. Come January, the Republican influence in congress will increase significantly. The Democrates will never be able to get enough Republicans to cross the aisle for a repeal then.

  45. 45

The Democrats have had 4 YEARS to repeal DADT. The Democrats PASSED DADT. Personally, I think it's the smartest thing Bill Clinton ever did. The Dems have had control of congress for 4 years, so if it hasn't happened yet, IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Does the gay and lesbian community forget that Obama is against gay marriage?? He was very vocal about this subject. So it always surprises me that people think he is going to pass these laws that give the gay and lesbian community the rights they want. And I am SO sick of celebrities thinking that they can "speak for" and "represent" our Country. Really, keep your mouth shut! Obama will never repeal DADT, so just accept it. And I will just add, I agree with equal rights. I don't think it's any of my business to tell someone who the can and can't marry, etc…

But atleast educate yourself on politics before speaking out. This administration will just keep sweeping this under the rug, especially now that Republican's have control over the house.

  46. 46

Re: Mad Dog – Not only did Bush oppose the repeal of DADT
HE USED HOMOPHOBIA TO GET OUT THE REDNECK VOTE TO WIN THE 2004 ELECTION!!
So the GOP will continue to block same sex equality in part for the very same reasons. A large part of their base (Christian right) as well as a number of Republican politicians are bigots that make it no secret that they oppose equality for all Americans.
DADT repeal WAS blocked by filibuster and the Democrats DID get credit for trying (from those who fact check things anyway) and try again they will.
The Senate needs 2 GOP votes to repeal (filibuster proof). Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) already stated she would likely vote to repeal. So this is not a done deal- not yet.
You can scroll up and read my post regarding Pres. Clinton. You do not have to stop there you can go read his interviews and watch video clips of him stating how he deeply regrets implementing DADT in the first place.
At least Clinton fessed up and publicly apologized for his fuck ups. All Bush does is try and justify his!

  47. 47

    Wake-up American legislators!
It is time to put honour & honesty back in your Armed Forces!
Civil Rights for Everybody in America!

  48. 48

Re: supersongbird – Interesting how anyone that doesn't agree with you is a redneck biggot. In a counrty with freedom, people are allowed to believe whatever they want. And apparently the majority agreed with Bush as he was elected twice.

  49. 49

Re: Mad Dog – Interesting how you place yourself into the redneck bigot category… hmm. Especially since I did not call you any names only stated factual information. So typical for a conservative to be angered and confused by the facts lol. Backed into a corner are you? Kinda like Sen. McCain was today lol
    -
Free country where ALL should enjoy equality not hate and division like in Iraq.
    -
Apparently the majority agreed with Obama as he was elected FAIRLY. Clinton was elected twice FAIRLY.
Quite debatable whether Bush was "elected" twice. Well maybe if you include his gubernatorial election in TX. lol

  50. 50

Re: Mad Dog – In the 2000 election George Bush won the electoral with 50,456,002 votes (271 electoral votes) vs. Al Gore who won the popular vote with 50,999,897 votes (266 electoral votes).
So more people voted for Al Gore than voted for GWB. Popular vote does not determine the election.
    Then the hijinx in Florida…

    Keep DADT intact

Re: MadonnaLive – Fuck right off and dont' speak another negative word about Mother GaGa. There is room for two in this town and Madonna is in her 50's now…while she is still relevant, there is room for another, younger, talent to "Express Herself." Gaga be thy name. Learn it. Honor it. Love it.

Re: supersongbird – Yes, slick Willy has expressed regret and once referred to it as "that stupid ass bill."

  54. 54

Re: supersongbird – I am familiar with the facts, SSB.

Several strawman arguments put forward in your post. Has there been a filibuster for 4 years? no. The dems were able to pass Obamacare with no help from the repubs. Enough said.

  55. 55

Re: WatcherOne – Familiar with the facts? Evidently not!
    Strawman?
"Obamacare" passed the Senate because they had the 60 votes needed for a filibuster-proof majority. DADT had only 56 votes yea (2 Democrats voted nay) last Sept. which opened the door for Senator McCain to lead the filibuster to block the repeal.
Repealing DADT was one of Obama's campaign promises; also increased pressure from gay rights activists made the repeal a prominant piece of legislation only in the last 2 years. The Bush administration considered the repeal a "security risk" even during last 2 years in office.
I mean these articles are everywhere. All you have to do is open up that mind and READ!
