George Lucas Wants To Bring Back The Dead!

Something about this makes us feel extremely uncomfortable.

Director and special effects king George Lucas has reportedly starting buying the rights to deceased film legends like Orson Welles and Barbara Stanwyck so he can use the old footage, and combine it with technology to digitally place them in a new feature!

According to Lucas' friend Mel Smith:

"George has been buying up the film rights to dead actors in the hope of using computer trickery to put them all together, so you'd have Orson Welles and Barbara Stanwyck alongside today's stars."

Doesn't seem very respectful to the actors and their memory!

Just because you have the technology to do something doesn't mean you should!

Hasn't anyone seen Jurassic Park?! LOLz!

But in all seriousness, we hope that whatever he's planning on doing is taken with the utmost care and respect to their families. We all saw what happened to the new Star Wars trilogy when he focused on the CGI instead of, you know, the actual actors.

Thoughts??

The only thing he REALLY wants those rights for is to make a porno starring himself and said actors.
    Fucking dickbag.

This guy needs to realize he lost his touch 20 years ago and even then It was more or less dependant on the collaboration with someone, namely Spielberg or in the case of Star wars, a bunch of other guys who wouldnt let him to whatever he wanted. We saw the result of what he does if unchecked.

Wow amazing there is nothing like those original true actors.
Then again there is Angelina Jolie. Love her.

Wait - I thought Stan, Kyle and Cartman had already put a stop to this…

Are you kidding?! Look how great Forest Gump was… And i think the fact that they had edited Kennedy & Jon Lennon & Nixon etc into that movie was one of the main things that made it so great…

Um, this is a shock to you guys? They've been doing things like this in commercials for a while now. It was only a matter of time before they started doing this in movies, too. Heck, they kinda already did. In Terminator Salvation, that terminator at the end wasn't actually Arnold (obviously, because he looked just like he did in the 80's movie). They hired a body double and used CGI technology to construct Arnold's face over the stand-in's. In a couple years we'll be seeing new Bogart movies. Mark my words.

are you seriously saying jurassic park was a bad movie? the technology and effects in that movie hold up well beyond their years and put alot of what's coming out now to shame. with that movie it was a craft, not a gimmick that was rushed and done too soon.

    Re: meadjl
I think he meant the premise of the movie- the fact they messed with the past and hell broke loose.

Actually, this is old news. Like 10 years.

In case you haven't noticed shit for brains, this has already been done in several movies and is still being done in commercials all the time. This is hardly radical.
