Listen To This: A Festival Of Lights

| Filed under: Listen To ThisMatisyahu

This is a pure pop gem, but he's a rapper.

And it's a song about Hanukkah, but you don't need to be Jewish to enjoy it.

If you've made it this far, check out the awesomeness that is Matisyahu's Miracle (above).

LOVE it!!!!

Mario please don't comment on this. Me and the rest of my tribe ( the Jews) want nothing to do with your Cuban dump ass! Oh sorry forgot to cross dump! You big bully hypocrite!!!

  2. 2

He's actually a pretty decently respected reggae artist. Not a "rapper."

  3. 3

    I'm still loving the Maccabeats!

  4. 4

You claim to be a musical guru who discovers "artists" and brings them fame by giving the exposure on your silly blog yet you don't know who Matisyahu is???
    ______________
He in no way needs the kind of "fame" your celebrity breeds and he has had success in ways you will never see. So don't you dare claim him as one of your obscure finds, Mario. He is beyond you in more ways than your brain can fathom.

Re: HellaD – i totally agree.

Fcuk this jewbag crap. BTW JESUS was not a jew, and jews are not his choosen ones, they're satan's choosen ones. read the talmud if you don't believe me.

Re: KDIZZLL – I'm sorry, but do you realize how completely ignorant you sound right now? Jesus was not Jewish? Then tell me, what religion did our Messiah (the Hebrew word for "anointed") practice? Because He sure was not a Christian! A Christian is one who adheres to the teachings of Jesus, meaning Jesus was Jewish and taught his apostles; the first Christians. And if the Jewish people are not His chosen ones, then why did He guide them out of Egypt to the Promised Land of Israel? Furthermore, if He hadn't guided the Jewish tribes out of Egypt, then our Jesus Christ wouldn't have been born to fulfill the prophecy of dying for our sins on the cross. Before you post your ignorance on the internet, I'd expect you to do some research on the matter which you are opposing.

Re: Nocturnal Stars – That sure sounds like rapping to me! And, P.S. Good riddance!

All of the ignorance in this thread is disgusting. Except HellaD makes a very good point. I can't believe you just called this a "pure pop gem." Matisyahu is a very respected Hasidic Reggae artist, not some obscure tart for you to exploit. And I agree, "He in no way needs the kind of "fame" your celebrity breeds" Oh, Mario.

Oh Perez, you could've at least posted the real video, there actually IS a video and it's good, got humor and tells the story of hannuka. Oh, and no, he's not a rapper, which you would've known if you had listen to any of his other songs.

Re: HellaD – The one who seems silly now is you. If your brain could fathom such things like the "search" function, you'd see that i have featured his music before!

Re: Elizabeth Baughman – He may be a reggae artist, but this is a pop song. Period.

  16. 16

I liked his old stuff but he continue to disappoint with every new song he puts out.

  17. 17

I wouldn't necessarily call him a "rapper" because he's so much more than that. But, he does blend reggae, hip hop, rock, pop, and traditional jewish themes in his music. Brilliant talent. I was lucky enough to attend the recording of his upcoming DVD/CD release "Live at Stubb's: Volume II" coming out in February. Watch for it… Grammy worthy!
