The Beaver Trailer Is Here!

| Filed under: Film FlickersJodie FosterMel Gibson

First they secure a release date, and now…the trailer!

Check out the brand-new preview for Mel Gibson's new movie, The Beaver, directed by and co-starring Jodie Foster (above)!

In all honesty - and this truly has nothing to do with the actor's insane antics this year - this movie just looks weird and sort of creepy! We can't figure out if this is trying to be an extremely dark comedy or a legit drama!

We guess we'll have to wait and see when it's released!

What do U think?? Do U want to go see The Beaver??

That looks really messed up. Not in a good way.

  2. 2

This movie looks good to me. It seems to have substance. I don't see humor. I see a damaged man trying to figure it all out…..

  3. 3

    this looks so uninteresting. sigh.

  4. 4

I've never been a Gibson fan but I love me some Jodie. I'll rent this one.

  5. 5

OF COURSE, I'll see it. It looks really good and that's no surprise - Mel is a phenominal actor, director, etc……. This will pull in BIG BUCKS.

It is amazing how the storyline in this flick parallels to some degree what is going on with him, mentally.

Re: boopadoopld64 – I agree, i think it will be a good film (despite mels personal life) the film has substance

  7. 7

looks good to me - not another remake or sequel of something………..
maybe more people need a beaver puppet…….

  8. 8

This is looking like a good, indie type movie. It's no stranger than Lars & the Real Girl and focuses on a damaged man trying to find peace with his family. I'll probably be seeing this when it comes out.

  9. 9

I loved it when they called it LARS AND THE REAL GIRL

  10. 10

Looks like Jodie is going to try and tackle a subject that is probably affecting more than a few americans right now, depression. The movie looks interesting and like a dark psychological drama. Despite Mel's problems he is a phenomenal director and actor. This one should be a good movie whether it does the box office or not.

  11. 11

Re: Burpee – two completely different movies. the only real comparisons in these films are that both characters were depressed and delusional.
mel and jodie are amazing actors, and i hope people can look past mel's life, and give it a chance.

  12. 12

That? That's supposed to make us forget that he's bonkers? Maudlin "finding yourself" crapola? No thanks, Mel. You're still a nutbag.

  13. 13

After watching the trailer again, I hope that it tops the box office for a looong time. EVERYONE needs to see this movie as MILLIONS are affected with depression and need help - the stigma needs to disappear! Seriously, this should be good!

  14. 14

It's nice to see something original, but I think I agree with some other comments - it's a renter. Though I honestly wonder how his personal life will affect this. It'll be interesting to see if it'll sky-rocket ticket sales or plummet them.

  15. 15

looks depressing but brilliantly cast with Mr. Depressing Geezer himself

  16. 16

    FINALLY! A biopic about Miley!!!

  17. 17

It such a weird story but, I am a fan of Anton Yelchin. So, maybe I will watch it.

  18. 18

Looks amazing…both Jodie and Mel are incredible actors. I couldn't care less about Mel's personal life, has no impact on whether I see a movie or not. This looks like a movie of actual substance…those are few and far between, not just some filler blockbuster. I hope it does very well and if it is shown in my area, I hope to see it!

  19. 19

Looks like a really good movie. Hope it does well.

  20. 20

Re: boopadoopld64 – I totally agree with u!!! Id love to go see it!

  21. 21

I mean, could Perez Hilton ever bring himself to say anything decent about anything Mel says or does? So, it's no big thing that these negative comments are here. The trailer is neither creepy or weird … unusual, yes, that a person seeks redemption through a puppet but hey,you guys are supposed to be the ones that believe that whatever floats your boat is all good. As for the movie itself … again, a strange story but if it is an attempt to tell the story of people who battle depression, them good on them. What I see, though, is that it takes an extreme amount of courage for Mel to stand in front of a camera again, especially knowing how much heat he is going to take. Naked, vulnerable and maybe 'telling on himself' or crying out for understanding … man, what guts. And Jodie for standing by a dear and long time friend. Hats off, lady.

  22. 22

Perez, I probably you will never, ever 'get' Mel …To quote you … "We can't figure out if this is trying to be an extremely dark comedy or a legit drama!"

Of course you can't 'figure it out' … LIFE is both dark comedy and drama … happy has sad in it and sad has happy in it. there is nothing to 'figure out' … it's just real. Nothing to figure out … just get in touch … art reflects life, life reflects art … ying/yang … lay your preconcieved ideas aside and just *watch* … maybe what you get in touch with makes you uncomfortable and so you can not see.

  23. 23

I'll see it … I like Mel Gibson.

  24. 24

I think it looks pretty good… And most dark comedies are dramas Perez. That's kind of the whole concept of a dark comedy actually.

I do wish they went with slightly younger actors, although Mel and Jodie look like they do a great job.

This looks weird…but i'll watch it out of curiosity and well..i do love Mel Gibson as an actor.

  26. 26

Mel must have hated it when Justin Bieber came on the scene just because of his last name

  27. 27

Hell yes I'm going to see it. Mel Gibson is a great actor. I don't give two shits about what happens in his personal life. The only things that he does that directly effects me are his movies. He can scream at whomever he wants for all I care.

  28. 28

Of course for Perez, if there is no glitter or glam a movie will be "creepy". Despite what has gone on in Mel Gibson's personal life give credit where credit is due… he is fucking brilliant at his craft. This movie looks heartbreaking and amazing, cannot wait to see it!

  29. 29

Most pleasing. I must see this. Perhaps drunk, in honor of Mel.

  30. 30

Say what you will, but Mel Gibson is one heck of an actor.

It looks really good ! im definately going to see it !!!!!! and SHUT UP PEREZ we no u hate the guy !!!!!

  32. 32

    I'll see it

  33. 33

As always late! You know its been available since Friday? You would never make it in the real world. lol

  34. 34

Re: A Voice of Sanity – I agree that the stigma needs to disappear, but a movie about a guy who finds a Beaver puppet in the garbage, showers with it, has conversations with it, and uses it to talk to everyone around him in a British accent might not be the one to accomplish that task.

  35. 35

i really hope this is meant to be a comedy. awful. terrible idea. id love to have been a fly on the wall in the office where this got approved.

  36. 36

I cant WAIT to go and see this AT the Theater! Unlike the other craptastic flix they shove in our faces, THIS 1 actually HAS talented people, using ORIGINAL ideas! (I'm SO sick of AWFUL sequels!) Foster and Gibson collectively have what 65-70 yrs of experience in the film industry? This movie will b a huge hit like it or not, the title, the merchandise, BIGTIME names, and the Over-all original screenplay makes this movie a FRONT RUNNER for sure!
This is ONE movie I will NOT be bootlegging, i'll PAY to go see this one.. if for no other reason than to PROVE to HollyWood can kiss it!
    Mel is innocent!

See ya @ the movies - Go Get'em Mel!

Re: RachieDod – Your comment reminded me of the island stranded Tom Hanks and his buddy, the (soccer or volley) ball.

  38. 38

While I honestly appreciate the talent of Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson, I won't be watching this movie. I have found the actions and comments of Mel Gibson disgusting and dishonorable, and I chose not to support the work of a man who feels that way about certain people. I'd rather support those actors/actresses and directors who show respect to the people who view and ultimately support their work and talent. (If I'm not good enough to be spoken about with dignity and respect then my money/time/support shouldn't be good enough for you either.)
