Orly To Return To Middle Earth?

He's thinking about it!

Sources are claiming that Orlando Bloom is in talks with New Line Cinema to return as Legolas for The Hobbit. He hear he is very close to a deal and that the role would be much more than just a cameo.

Awesome! Nice to see that he has some loyalty to at least one franchise!

That makes two of the originals that are set to return! Maybe now they can get Ian McKellen to step up!

Who else would U like to see return to the shire?

Ian has stated on his website that he will be returning.

Its pretty much a done deal, just needs to be announced.

I am curious how they'll work Legolas in though. He isn't in The Hobbit at all- not once.

    Liv Tyler

why wouldnt he do it…what the fuck ELSE is he doing

  4. 4

Its been a while since I read the Hobbit, but i'm pretty sure Legolas wasnt in it…

legolas does not appear in the hobbit. PLEASE WE LOVE SOME LEGOLAS BUT DONT DESTROY THE STORY JUST TO PUT HIM IN,,

While his returning would not be out of the realm of possibility, since he is an elf, and they don't really age as humans do, he was not in the book. These films stand very much on their own, so there is no real reason to shove characters in just to try to draw audiences. They will be drawn already, no problem.

why the unnecessary "nice to see that he has some loyalty to at least one franchise" comment?

His character in Pirates was killed. Yes, I'm sure they could somehow write in a scene of him shuttling the dead. Unless he's shuttling Jack Sparrow, it would be a gratuitous cameo.

He'll probably be helping or hindering Bilbo in the Mirkwood jails of the elves.

This is a bad sign for the films if they are just going to start bringing in characters that aren't in the book. Hey.. lets add a musical number from Miley Cyrus to bring in the kids and throw Sarah Palin in there as an elf to bring in the Republican voters.

Oh shut up all of you! It is implied that he is present. Why do you think he was sent to rep for Mirkwood in LOTR! I guess because it was not seen or read it is not in th realm of possibilities!?!? Did any one see or read about Aragorn's travels through Moria, Rhun, and Harad, NO! But they these things are mentioned in the book and did occur. I think them putting him in makes the story more full and real!Besides it is implied that Legalos is older than a few decades as the Hobbit took place within 60 years of LTOR. Come now did anyone think Legalos was only 60!!!

    Re: Shageen

Its not outside the realm of possibility for him to return though. Legolas is the Prince of Mirkwood- where parts of the book take place. As he is a couple thousand years old during the War of the Ring, it is conceivable (and even somewhat logical) to think that he would be there.

I don't think it will be a major role but it will be something.

Me! I would give my left foot to be even an extra in this film. Greatest films of all time!!!!!

Well, Legolas is an elf of Mirkwood, so he will probably be included in those scenes. Elves are immortal as you all surely know, so it is very likely that he was around then, it is just a little reworking of the story to make him noticeable as a member of the Elvish court.

Ok…is he directly in The Hobbit? No. Was Legolas around during The Hobbit story? Yes. I think they can find a workable way to incorporate him into the story. I'm with everyone else though who says that they better not ruin the book/movie just to get some sexy Leggy action…SO not worth it…The Hobbit is sacred! :)
