Now that Simon Cowell is prepping the launch of the US version of his singing competition, The X Factor, two massive advertisers are currently duking it out over sponsorship of the series - Coca Cola and Pepsi!
Coca Cola, which has sponsoring American Idol for quite a long time, has one more year left on its contract with the FOX competition!
Meanwhile, Pepsi passed on sponsoring American Idol back in the day, and wants to make sure that this time, they don't make the same mistake twice!
The two are currently in the middle of a $50 - $100 million auction over its sponsorship, which means to the rest of us that regardless of who ends up with the deal, there are going to be some BIG BUCKS being spent to make sure the X Factor succeeds stateside!
