Mel Gibson Snubbed…On List Rating The Top 10 Worst Anti-Semitic Comments Of The Year

Good thing? Bad thing? We just don't know what to think!

The Simon Wiesenthal Center, a well-respected organization in the Jewish community, just released its "2010 Top Ten Anti-Semitic Slurs" list.

Yes, they have one of those. No, we don't know why or who thought it was a good idea to keep a record of this sort of thing. No, we don't know why they would rate the comments either. Not the point.

Point is, Mel Gibson and his alleged tirade against Harvey Weinstein didn't make the list, being beaten out by the likes of Oliver Stone and the journalist Helen Thomas, who took the #1 spot with this gem:

"Jews should get the hell out of Palestine. They should go home to Germany, Poland, America and everywhere else."

That's pretty bad. Can't say that it is worse than "I want Jew blood on my hands," though.

Soooo…should we like congratulate Mel for being not as repulsive as 10 other people or something?

    Ok, dude. First of all that's not an anti-semitic. Lots of other respected Jews (such as Noam Chomsky) have expressed their disgust about the occupation of Palestine. I'm Palestinian, and Mel is just expressing what other millions and millions and millions and millions of people think or say. More than half of the Jewish population in Israel, are in fact from America, Poland, Germany, and everywhere else. So his point is valid. The jews compromise of 5% of the semitic population, and in that retrospective, his comment is not near anti-semitism at all. It is anti-zionist. Please learn the motherfucking difference.

    Lots of other Jews, especially orthodox jews, think that Israel actually goes against Judaism. Are they anti-semites as well? Don't make me laugh.

    I disagree with Mel however, I think fundamentalist jews terrorizing Palestinians in Hebron should get the fuck out of the West Bank and stop bombing Gaza. Man ignorance PISSES ME OFF.
    I rather have a civilized conversation with an Israeli rather than those morons who think anti-zionism is anti-semitic.

He was talking about how the US has help aid Hitler early on in the war and then we were helping Nazis after the war (the CIA documents were just released awhile back).

    Re: LeenB – look, i'm totally against the occupation, but since the jews have been there for so long, it would cause a huge problem to kick all them out. my family left israel when my dad was one because they were against the expulsion of the palestinians, and we're orthodox jews. however, most of the people who are currently in israel had nothing to do with that. don't blame the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations for the mistakes of their ancestors. it's the same situation as what we did to the native americans and thousands of others did before then. let's all focus on fixing the problem now, not blaming people for the past. living in the past is just pathetic and useless.

    Lets begin with the fact that there is no country called Palestine. Is "Palestine" mentioned anywhere in the Bible? The country is Israel !! And yes many Israelis come from European decent because Israel was under Turkish, British etc rule for many many years and Jews were not allowed to migrate until 1948.

    There is nothing anti-Semitic about that statement whatsoever. He is simply articulating the fact the Israel is Palestine, and the original people of Palestine should be the occupants. It would be no different than saying that the Dutch needed to leave apartheid South Africa. The anti-Semitic card is played way too much. The US is best buddies with Israel, and to act like Israeli's are oppressed is completely inaccurate. As someone said earlier, there is a vast difference in being Anti-Semitic and Anti-Zionist.     I didn't say the Jews should be kicked out, I did say at the end I disagree with Mel and I think the jews in the West Bank should be kicked out. Which is a valid point, because the settlements in the West Bank are illegal by international Law. I understand, to be honest, I've got nothing against Jews, nor even Israelis. I do have a huge problem, however with the zionists and the illegal settlements. And Netanyahu, man he pisses me off. And I know he pisses alot of Israelis and Jews off as well.

Why is it that everyone in the states claim freedom of speech, yet when a comment even comes close to showing jewish people in a negative light it is branded as anti-semetic and people are called bigots.     i fail to see how that antisemitic - it's true. The Israeli occupation of palestine, particularly Gaza, is probably the most disgusting abuse of power I've ever seen. It was, however, all Palestine at one point, and now only the West Bank and Gaza is for the palestinians. Even then, the Israeli arseholes, not content with taking half of their land, are now building illegal settlements all over the west bank.

    Alright. First off, maps from the medievil times, hell, even the British and French colonization all refer to a place called, Palestine. Even Herzl himself says either go to Argentina or to Palestine. However, states as we know them to do came into existance when the British mandates/colonies and other European empires came to crumble, even countries like Algeria reached sovereignty in the 60s. It doesn't mean they did not exist before. So please do me a favor and go do some research on the Middle East.

Your comment indicates that you've been feeding off zionist propoganda instead of picking up a reliable scholar book, political analyst or hell, even a history book. Next time, please do either of these 3 things and then come and bullshit about Palestine and Israel. Palestinians have existed before the creation of Israel. Palestinians as an ethnic group differ genetically from other arabs, and in fact their DNA and genome is closer to a Jewish Israeli person than to an Arab (and so is jewish israeli person's genome closer to a Palestinian Arab than a non Jewish European). Seriously, I STRONGLY advice you to read up on these issues.
