The Good Guys Get The Axe

Well, it lasted longer than most of the shiteous less watched shows to which we've already said good-bye!

The Good Guys, starring Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks, has finally been taken out back and shot by the FOX network!

Dallas Film Commission's Janis Burkland explains:

"We liked the show. And they had a great experience here. But the ratings weren't good. I think it would have done well on cable. It's not the kind of show network viewers understand [because] it's too quirky. Where cable viewers are more apt to go sampling and try out different stuff, network viewers are looking for more traditional shows."

That may be the case, we think that Colin should head back over to Mad Men! We miss him there!

Sorry, guys. Better luck next time!

It was a funny show. Sorry to see it go. But I agree with the assessment - would have been better on cable, a lot of people didn't get it.

    bummer. good show!

  3. 3

This is such total BS-viewers anywhere can "get" a quirky show and this one was great!!! It never stood a chancem, no advertising and they moved it around all the time! I'm really unhappy about their decision.

Of course it did because it was halfway good. It would have been better if it didn't use flashbacks so much, but it figures. Bradley Whitford was kinda funny in it.

  5. 5

tooo bad. imo it was extremely funny. especially bradley whitford's character.

WHAT????? This is one of the best shows on TV! What's wrong with you people? The show never got any publicity. Modern Family gets tremendous publicity and it is not half as good as this show. The cast is fabulous. Sad!!!!

i LOVE this show!! i can't believe it got axed, but i definitely didn't see any advertising for it so i understand the ratings bit. it's not because it sucked, it just wasn't handled well. but the show itself is hilarious. i fell in love with colin hanks. i hope another network picks it up *fingers crossed*

    What?
    I loved that show.
    Bring it back.

It was a GOOD show!!! Bradley Whitford was especially funny. I'm so tired of shows being mishandled. Another network should should snatch it up. THIS SUCKS.

No! So sad. I loved this show. It was so funny, much better than most of the "comedies" on TV

This is such a good show. I was looking forward to new episodes!

I loved it!! Shows that require a brain never make it on network tv. What does that say about our country!

I love this show! So unfortunate…

I loved this show but of course is was cancelled cuz it's not a reality show, it doesn't relate to tweens and teens, it doesn't have sex and nudity or promote women, it doesn't have singing or dancing. It was just a good ol fashioned comedy that dumb down Americans don't get anymore.

Too bad. It was a great show. I love Bradley Whitfield. Every year these networks put out boatloads of crappy cop and doctor and lawyer shows and most of them suck. This was actually entertaining and different. I agree with some of the other comments that part of the issue is that it got zero advertising. If got even a fraction of the advertising that awful spy show Undercovers it would have been a huge hit. Idiot TV execs.
