This is terrible!

The stunt man who was injured while performing in Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark will be stuck in ICU for Christmas.

Christopher Tierney is suffering from a broken elbow, broken ribs, and a cracked skull after plummeting 30 feet during a live performance earlier this week.

Tierney's dad says that he and the family are making plans to be with him at the hospital in New York during the holiday weekend where he will he stay before being moved to a rehabilitation center next week.

His dad also explains that Tierney cannot wait to get back on stage:

"[Chris] cannot wait to get back into the Spidey costume … It won't be as soon as he would like but … his spirits are high and he cannot wait to get back."

Really?! That show did some serious damage to him. We just hope that a severe accident like this won't happen again if the show continues.

Get well, honey.

Just saw spiderman last night and it was amazing. They even gave a shout out to this actor and wished him a fast recovery. I would want to get back on the stage for this production as soon as possible if I were in the show

Can't wait to get back into costume? His injuries sound severe…head injuries can be dangerous, broken elbow? He won't be back for a while but why doesn't anyone express the lack of safety…why did the rope break? why why why

Why is this such a big deal. does it not come with the territory?

Showbiz is a superstitious business and "jinxed shows" have come and gone before. Some productions have even been labeled cursed! I am leaning now on jinxed but any more injuries or God forbid a death and we're in cursed territory.

Aside from that, who's idea was it to do a Spider-man Broadway show? It just isn't a hot commodity anymore. Maybe when the first two movies were big yeah, that would have been the time. But not now. And the title? "Turn off The Dark"?? Bad, just plain bad.
