Archie Comics Gets Political With Obama Vs. Palin Issue

| Filed under: PolitikBarack ObamaSarah Palin

Even Archie Comics get into politics!

On the cover of the new Archie Comic #616 released on Wednesday, President Obama and Sarah Palin are shown sharing a milkshake together in an issue centering around Archie and his long-time rival Reggie as they battle it out for student-body president.

In the comic, Archie and his girlfriend Veronica are depicted as Obama supporters as they are showing talking environmental issues with the president.

Meanwhile, Reggie is seen as a Palin fan, as he gets his picture taken with the former VP nominee and current reality show star.

As Obama and Palin are showed sharing a milkshake, Archie can be seen in the background, exclaiming, "Wow! I guess anything's possible!"

Very cool. Seems like the old-fashioned comic is trying to become more contemporary.

I think Archie Comics SHOULD STAY OUT OF POLITICS!!!! If they are trying to stay contemporary, do it with other subjects. They are going to hit a SORE POINT with SOME OF THE BUYERS (MOMMY AND DADDY) who are not Obama supporters or Palin supporters. If they were going to do an 'election', and had to do political type parties (which regular high schools DON'T DO), they could have had what their political party 'supported'. Veronica-an upper class PROM at the best country club in the valley, but using all green products.. duh… Have the 70 year old high school 'kids' start green clubs or something…

This is a very bad idea. Palin does not elong on the same page as Obama. Furthermore, Palin does not get along with anyone.

Isn't it obvious to everyone, that Sarah Palin has a romantic thing for Obama? She is clearly attracted to him, sexually, as evidenced by the fact that she can't stop talking about him or his family, like an obsessed and scorned ex. I think she secretly wishes that she was Michelle? It is like she is saying to the President, "Notice me, please…notice me", every time Palin attacks Obama, and or, his wife. I think the Archie publisher noticed the sexual tension, and strongly implied it in their comic art cover. She is so horny for him, it's written all over her face and words.

Veronica isn't Archie's sole gf…..he constantly dates both her AND Betty….DUR

I'd like to see a comic where Obama is hate-f*king Palin.

    It's called Government propaganda.

Dan Parent makes me just want to cut myself. I wish he would just open up several fashion magazines and update Veronica's choice of fashion instead of stupid people magazines and watching CNN. I swear if Dan DeCarlo was alive Parent would have gotten bitch slapped, then pimp slapped with this atrocious mess.
And now I see why this pointless post about an Archie comic was posted in the first place… Its because Archie himself looks really gay just like that 5 second gay character before "Kevin Keller".

lol - Veronica would never be an Obama supporter!! Her father would never allow for that.. They are full blown wealthy republicans, why waste their time on Obama…?
    Inconsistency in the comic book..

smh.. what a disappointing direction to go in.. these comics were always light and uplifting.. we are bombarded with politics and issues all day long.. now they are showing up in comics as well… this is not a good look…
