Controversy Sells! Spider-Man Sells Out!

If you tried to get a ticket for Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark last week, we assume you were totes out of luck. We just saw the numbers and despite the fact that a man almost died on the show's watch, all 4 of last week's shows were SOLD OUT!

That's right - the grosses for the week prove that none of the showings had a single ticket to spare.

So, either people aren't as concerned with the safety hazards as others might think or there are some sick people in New York hoping to watch another poor soul get hurt!

Either way, slowly but surely, it's making its money back!

jeez, fatback. can you blame em? i hate going to those shows but i'd sell my children (i don't have any. lol!) for tickets to that show. & i'd spend the whole time hoping & praying someone would take a dive. anyone willing to be strapped in on that stage for that show knowing the track record has a death wish & deserves whatever comes their way.

Making their money back!!???? What kind of math did they teach you?

The shows COSTS $1 million a week in operating costs.
The 4 shows made ONLY $944,000. That's called a LOSS.
That dollar amount also does not include any refunds given for the show that was stopped and never ended do to the 30 ft fall of Spidey.

Which means- the LOSS is even bigger. The shaw has yet to put ANY money in the bank to start paying back the investors their $65 million.

"there are some sick people in New York hoping to watch another poor soul get hurt!" - Yep, I tend to think it's the latter rather than the former!
