Oh dear.

Mexican pop singer Kalimba will face trial for allegedly raping two underage girls.

Both of the victims were hired as hostesses during Kalimba's DJ performance at the Buddha Bar in Chetumal, Mexico on December 18.

The two girls, 17, claim that they were invited to the after party by the bar's manager. One of the girls, who wishes to remain nameless, alleges that she was sexually abused by Kalimba after she fell asleep around 3 AM in the singer's hotel room.

She filed a complaint at a local public ministry on December 20.

Meanwhile, the other 17-year-old came forth this past Tuesday claiming she was also raped by the singer in a different room, but said that fear and embarrassment prevented her from speaking out earlier.

Soon after the accusations came out, Kalimba took to his Twitter and posted this:

"You should know that I am not proud of everything I do, I make mistakes, I fall and I sin; but I definitely did not do what I am being accused of."

He later deleted the tweets. He is scheduled to appear in court in Mexico City.

wow all sorts of young girls crying rape! but they forget the situation they put themselves in! girls are not so innocent-they play men-lie about their age then scream rape -now this man will be a sex offender for life-all because these
almost adult girls cried rape wish plp would look at both side of story instead of
always thing worst of the man

  3. 3

But if she didn't want anything to do with him, WHY GO TO HIS HOTEL ROOM?

  4. 4

I love how everyone shames potential rape victims. Are you people serious? We barely know anything of the case and already people are bitching about ' too many girls crying rape' or it was their fault for being in the hotel room. I hope neither of you aren't or never will be associated with anything relevant to law enforcement. Hundreds of women are raped daily and 90% of them won't report it because of the negative environment dumb asses like you put out.

  5. 5

He's so controversial, just like Belinda! I don't believe he raped those girls. I think they're just money-hungry teens (& their mothers).

  6. 6

if their 17 teen its not rape.

they ask for sex beg for it its not rape their sluts or open women

  7. 7

i know rape is real but in the last twenty years rape means i got drunk and fucked some guy. now instead of admiting im a slut when im drunk i will try to blame my sluttyness on men

  8. 8

He makes me think of Mugen from Samurai Champloo.

  9. 9

Re: angelwolf333 – You know rape is real? Oh well done. There are a lot of people who still think it's a mythical ritual involving quidditch and unicorns.
btw, I think you should draw up blue prints for some kind of sluttiness-ometer we could implement in the courts to decide who 'deserves' to seek justice for being forcibly penetrated without their consent. After all, what better way is there to determine someone's worth as a human than by their gender and skirt length and whether they enjoy sex or not?

SOMETHIN SOUNDS STOOPID AND STAGED IN THIS STORY… REMINDS ME OF THE SAME SHIT THAT SEAN KINGSTON WAS ACCUSED OF AND LATER PROVED WAS MADE UP. UM, YEA GIRLS… WHERE ARE THE FORENSIC TESTS??

  11. 11

This is Mexico, so talk about forensics tests and sex-offender registries may not be applicable. Unfortunately, both alleged victims came forward days later, so the prosecution of the singer may also be jeopardized.

Rape is a serious thing whether the girls were 17 or 89. It is an ugly thing and whether they were drunk, wearing low cut blouses or whatever, no excuse to rape someone. Now, I blame him whether he is guilty or not, because he was stupid enough and arrogat enough to put himself in that situation. If you gotta get your rocks off, hire hookers. Watch porn or get a girl who can be your F-Bud when you get horny but stay away from groupies, fans…They always love and fantasize about a celeb and become star f&%(kers but when the actual deed happens, shame and regret creeps in, or the occassional money hungry opportunist, and yes, rape happens… If I were a major celeb, and had sex with strangers, I would vid tape the encounter, make em sign a document consenting, whatever to protect me and who I am…

  13. 13

It is easy to see how our society is going to react to this news. It is not either of these young women's fault this man choose to (allegedly) force himself on them sexually. If one women consented to do some sexual acts with Kalimba then that is her choice. Previous consent NEVER translates into consent for every sexual act, at any time. This young woman did NOT set herself up for rape by (possibly) consenting earlier in the night and/or by sleeping in his bed. These women are setting a good example for rape victims everywhere by taking the risk and speaking out against the rape alleged by Kalimba. Their motives will be questioned and will receive so much backlash that says it was their fault. Every person has the right to feel safe expressing their sexuality! These responses to a rape allegation are what constitutes rape culture and keeps in alive. Rape is NEVER the victim's fault. The perpetrator is ALWAYS the one who chooses to commit such a violating sexual act and needs to held responsible. Rape can be significantly reduced if society would respond to these instances in the proper manner and start creating an environment where women will feel safe to report their rape without any fear. I wish these two women the best of luck within the next couple of weeks and to remain strong in the face of such blatant misogyny they will inevitably have to endure.

  15. 15

If stupid teenaged girls stopped going places they shouldn't go, this shit wouldnt' happen. What do you think happens at afterparties, huh? A rousing game of Monopoly? Come on. Yea, it's horrible if the allegations are true but stop putting yourself into a situation where it will occur.

  16. 16

They are 17, not 14, and they go to his hotel room to have an innocent slumber party? Give me a break. Girl's crying rape make it harder for the girls who are really raped. How about not going up to a perfect strangers hotel room? Date rape happens, but these cases where chicks just meet a "celeb" and go up to his room and then cry rape, are questionable.

  17. 17

Re: kateketh – There is a level of respondsibility on ALL parts. Do you really thinks it's okay for you to already have him condemned and you don't even know what happened? You keep saying these poor girls and society this and that, but there are also quite a few women that cause the preception that society has of rape and whether or not it's really rape or just some woman trying to get paid. There are MANY men that are now SEX OFFENDERS for the rest of their lives because of girls that slept with them intentionally because they have money or some fancy lifestyle and then they cry rape. I am not condoning ANYONE being forced to do anything they don't want to do. If that is indeed what happened he should be prosecuted to the FULL EXTENT of the law, but if it's not and this is just party hoppers that were looking for a good time and had sex with him then decided they wanted to use that to their advantage should he really be prosecuted and labelled for life this? I mean, just like these girls are taking a risk coming forth and speaking up about it, this is his career on the line also. It's a double edge sword and until we know all the FACTS no one should really be belittling or degrading anyone…

  18. 18

Re: kateketh – So is it your stance that evey woman that says she was "raped" be taken at her word and the person she accused should be prosecuted? Have you ever seen the Salem Witch Trials…I am only using that as an example to show you how TERRIBLE it would be for that to be the way this is handled. If he is guilty then yes, he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, but if we don't know the FACTS of the case no one should be belittling or condemning ANYONE……

  19. 19

    se las ve negras…..jeje….

  20. 20

I dunno, I dont buy it somehow. These girls seem shady with their stories

  21. 21

Ummm, He's Mexican. That's what mexicans do. The age of consent in Mexico is 12.

  22. 22

NEWS FLASH. A lot of AFTER PARTIES are in hotel rooms or hotel suites. And my guess is, if he's a "big" star, he more than likely had a big ass suite, so naturally the girls would go there to party - not necessarily for sex. Its funny how all of a sudden no one's been to a hotel party before or no one's crashed at the place they partied. GEEZUS. Sure, the girls shouldn't have been there, but he shouldn't have been inviting 17 yr old girls to his after party. Dumb choices on both of their parts, but he's older and knew better. PERIOD.

  23. 23

One of the victims fell asleep when he sexually assaulted her?? asleep?? so she was actually awake when it happen? and what kind of 17yrs old spend the night with a stranger.

    He's a Negro, that's what negroes do….hello.

  25. 25

you are late with the news as always but I think they are just hungry of money I honestly don't think they were raped, it seems like there are evidence but who knows?

  26. 26

    Who?

    27

Perez, you and I know those bitches are only looking for a shakedown. What is the definition of rape? When the dude's tool is doing its thing with the bitch's consent and in the middle of this horizontal (or other position) mambo the bitch suddenly decides to cry rape? IMHO, there cannot be rape when violence is not present.

  28. 28

    YUM! Hot nipples, papi!

  29. 29

    Re: Angelhair

Yes, duh. The thing you're forgetting is that before a prosecution, there is an INVESTIGATION. That means that some body of people found that there was enough EVIDENCE to prosecute this guy. And looky here at all these nimrods saying that he didn't do it based on nothing.

"Women shouldn't put themselves in that situation" is the most despicable statement that has been muttered by at least one person every single time when it's told that someone has been accused of rape.

  30. 30

    Quien es este guey?

  31. 31

Re: MVPnis – The legal age of consent is 18. Please don't say anything if you have no idea about what you're syaing, loser

  32. 32

    No means NO

  33. 33

Re: zenny – Your comment has to be the most ignorant and misogynistic thing I have ever encountered in my life. I really hope you don't honestly believe that. If you do, I feel really bad for you and the kind of person you must be, but also all of the things and/or experiences in your life that has taught you to believe something like that.
Re: Angelhair – Rape would not happen if the perpetrator did not make the conscious decision to violate a person in a unwanted, sexual way. Just as in any other crime, such as murder, the perpetrator needs to bear all responsibility for the crime they committed. Period. There is also the popular myth about women constantly "crying rape," when actually only 2% of all reported rapes are deemed "fake." 1 out of 4 women and 1 out of 7 men are survivors of rape, and if their attackers were found guilty through our present justice system (which is another bigger, issue) then they DESERVE to be registered sex offenders for the rest of their life. These young women are putting more than just their career on the line by expressing these claims, they are putting the quality of their LIVES on the line, their credibility, and by extension they are indirectly teaching every woman that if she were to be raped then the same thing will happen to her as well.

Why were 2 underaged girls working in a bar? Where are these girls parents? Why would she fall asleep in some strangers room at 3am? I mean seriously I think that when you get invited to someones hotel room and you agree you already have an idea of why you are going you and what the consequences are unless you are that naive to think you are going there to play scrabble!
