Is Abba Planning A Reunion??

We'd LOVE to see this happen, but we unfortunately have to remain skeptical!

Although the Swedish band Abba hasn't reunited in over 30 years, former group member Agnetha Fältskog recently revealed that despite turning down a 100-date reunion concert in 2000, there still could be a chance of them all performing together again!

She explains:

"I feel it would be fun to meet, chat about the old days and perhaps perform together. We would not get together again for a tour like the Rolling Stones and some other old bands do. But I think we would all consider a one-off reunion, maybe for a good cause."

Holy shiz! You guys could make some serious bucks with a one-time-only show!

But we think a reunion of that magnitude deserves something a little bigger, and we're not sure all of the original members could put their differences aside to commit to something like that!

We can dream, though!

Fingers crossed, guys!

Thoughts?? Do U want to see an Abba reunion??

I'd love to see it. They're the 4th best selling musical artists in the world in total certified sales for all time to date, after The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Michael Jackson. I hope they make an effort. They'd likely really enjoy it this go-round.

ABBA, are classier than reuniting for 'money' - non of them need any more wealth and they made music in the first place not to make money (or become famous) but because they are all talented musicians who just came together in the name of music. Now when we look back on their back catalogue we celebrate them for making timeless classics that will probably never be surpassed. On many occasions they have been offered deals which would make them the wealthiest entertainers in history but this was never their aim and the music they produced was from the heart not the ego.

What the fuck is wrong with you Perez? One of the original members died in Spain a few years back. How can they plan a reunion without him? Do you just make this stuff up or what?

Forget about helping the elderly or finding a man……FACT CHECKING the shit you put on your site might be a good New Years Resolution to make.

Re: PHARO – Their blend and harmonies could make the hair stand up on the back of your neck, similar to the Beach Boys. I like rock and metal, but they got their due respect from me on that basis alone.

The rumor I heard reported was that they were offered a billion dollars (with a B) for a millennium reunion tour. Considering they toured the US all of one time and haven't played together in 30 years is doesn't seem like a completely crazy number. As someone already mentioned, they are one of the top selling acts of all time. Although not as popular in the US as the rest of the world, they certainly have been part of pop culture with the success of Mamma Mia both in the movies and on stage in recent years so there is obviously a great deal of pent up demand.

I'd love to see this happen. Their music was great.

First: None of them are dead. Agnetha, Björn & Benny all live happily in Stockholm while Frida lives in Switzerland these days.

Secondly: I think Frida at one point stated that she wouldn't be able to pull it off vocally. What those 2 girls did with their voices back then - well, ya'll heard the songs.
I think they want people to remember them as they were in their heydays and not tarnish that by some moneydriven reunion were they couldn't possibly reach the same energy and vocal standard as back then. And doing it playback would be beneath them.

I would first in line to see it.

ABBA gets a lot of flack due to their sometimes cheesy (but oh so good) songs and their costume attire (but it was the 1970s), but just listen to albums like THE ALBUM or THE VISITORS, and you can see where they ventured into some rather dark territory. The voices of those women blended together were amazing (Ace of Base sure couldn't pull that off), and the production of their albums/singles were spectacluar. I hate it when I hear people say they were one-hit wonders! Um…Really? Where? They didn't have a huge following in the US as they did abroad, but even here they had their share of hits. And they still play their songs on the radio daily over in Europe.

    Re: Poetic Justice
Why don't you fact check! All four members of ABBA are still alive. That was a member of their touring band.

And I wont hold my breath for any sort of ABBA reunion.

  21. 21

Re: Poetic Justice – WTF Are you talking about ! The 4 members still alive! I'm pretty sure you don't even know who ABBA is!

Well, the voice is a muscle, and if you exercise it, you can get it back unless it's been damaged. It just takes longer at her age. If Frida thinks she wants to tour, she can do it. It might just take her a few months instead of a couple of weeks of rehearsals. The tour would keep the chops limber after that. They might want to space the dates out to give the chords a decent rest, and use the extra days off to see the world and visit.

  23. @v@ says – reply to this

They could also lower the key a note or two.

  24. 24

It's not going to happen. None of them are actually interested in doing it, depsite these comments you get from Frida or Agnetha from time to time that it would be "nice" to do something together. Björn and Benny aren't interested in an ABBA reunion at all, and repeatedly say so.

If it ever did happen, it will be something that's either not seen by the public at all (like they've done at least 3 other times since 1982, singing together at friends' birthdays), or it will be recorded before the public knows about it.
