We think this speaks volumes about where the country is at right now.
For the first in history, ABC News' Nightline is #1 in total viewership for its fourth quarter, beating out its competition with 3.93 million viewers, on average.
As for Jay Leno, which airs at the same time slot, he only averaged 3.88, which is only slightly better than David Letterman, whose Late Show averaged 3.6 million in total viewers.
But back to Nightline. The news show's ratings were up 16% in total viewers, 15% in adults 25-54 and 14% in the adults 18-49 demo (1.27 million) compared to the previous quarter.
Marvelous! Good to know people are getting invested in the news again. There's a lot going on in the world and its important we all take note.
