Brad Pitt To Play John Lennon?!

Wow! He's a pretty unexpected choice!

Brad Pitt has apparently in talks to play John Lennon in a bio-pic of the late singer!

Sources reveal that the seksi actor wants to also produce the feature, and has met with Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, and has even secured her seal of approval:

They explain:

"Brad already has a writer working on the script. And Yoko has given the project her blessing so long as it's true to John's life. Brad wants to do all the singing himself and plans to take voice lessons. If he can't pull it off they'll use John's own voice. Brad has also been immersing himself in videos and books so he can get Lennon's mannerisms down pat."

Well, he seems to have a lot of passion for the project, so let's hope that it translates well into the final product!

He certainly doesn't look the part, but we imagine some make-up and prosthetics can change that with relative ease!

What do U think?? Do U think Brad is suited to play John Lennon??

OH THAT'S JUST GREAT. MAYBE JULIA ROBERTS CAN PLAY YOKO ONO. BOTH OF THEM ARE ONE DIMENSIONAL ACTORS. WHAT A YAWN.

  2. 2

    Not feeling it.

He just doesn't seem the John Lennon type.

I'll reserve final judgement till I see it…but I'm not optimistic.

  3. 3

Only if he puts on an acceptable English accent. They should really get local talent to play him, to be honest.

  4. 4

I always thought Noah Wyle had similar features. At least the nose part

  5. 5

    NO NO NO
Terrible idea! A disgrace to John's memory. For one, do not hire an American showbiz hot shot to play a Liverpudlian singer/activist. I also doubt that Brad's voice will sound anything like John's. Simply horrible.
And as usual, Yoko makes the wrong decisions.

  6. 6

    no.

    I totally agree.

  8. 8

Why dissing? I'd wait till I see it.

  9. 9

Brad Pitt isn't suited to play Rain Man let alone a genius like Lennon. WTF is Angelina Holee going to play Yoko?? Ugh, I wish those two fucktards would just go away!!

  10. 10

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO He can't act nor do an accent!

  11. 11

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!! It is SO SICKENING WHEN ACTORS LIKE HIM, JOLIE, CLOONEY, ETC. think SO HIGHLY OF THEMSELVES that they can BUY A STORY, A PERSON'S LIFE, have a script written and EVERYONE WILL THINK IT IS THE GREATEST ACTING JOB EVER!!!! He is too old, will come up with a crappy accent and can't sing. and this is from someone that was never crazy about Lennon. and he can cast Jolie play Ono, Clooney, Damon, and Deep as the rest of the beatles (johnny deep of course as ringo). AND OF COURSE, should this happen, Pitt would be nominated for OSCARS ALL AROUND, ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE CAST…. disgusting…. oh, and zaharah can play julian

  12. 12

    Adrien Brody would be great!

  13. 13

Brad Pitt, get real. Adraine BRODY would be a great choice. He looks like him and can act.

  14. 14

A very STYLISH choice to play John Lennon…
    www.thethrifters.net

  15. 15

Brad Pitt could be mistaken for a scouser… yeah right, I can see that…

  16. 16

Didn't Nowhere Boy Just Come Out? (A John Lennon Biopic)

  17. 17

Edward Norton would make a great John Lennon!!

  18. 18

No please nooo he would not be right for the part. He doesnt even come close to looking at him, and i find is acting to be annoying at times

  19. 19

Ugh. That's just so wrong, and so annoying.

  20. 20

    worst choice EEEEEEVER!!!

  21. 21

    NO -__-

  22. 22

    what a joke!

  23. 23

wow. this may be the worst casting decision i have ever heard of. I could not disapprove of this more.

  24. 24

NO!! Totally wrong and too old.

  25. 25

    he is too old

  26. 26

Please, PLEASE tell me this is a joke. Right? RIGHT!!?

  27. 27

Ridiculous casting. Stick to adopting children. He is a movie star, not an actor. Love the Julia Roberts comment, I'm sure with makeup we can make her look occidental.

  28. 28

    vincent gallo or adrien brody

  29. 29

i dont mean to act ghetto….but….HELLLL NAWWW! I'm a HUGE Beatles fan and i think this is a good idea…

  30. 30

I love Brad and I think its great if he wants to produce the film, but I feel like an unknown English actor would probably be a better choice to play John. Brad seems a bit too old to play him at this point so I'm not sure if he'd be the best fit for it.I think Lucy Lui would make a great Yoko though!

  31. 31

    FUCK NO

  32. 32

    Re: Francesca Humi – AGREED

  33. 33

He's too pretty for that part. I think an unknown would be the way to go!

  34. 34

I really don't think this is a good choice. the age/look of Pitt is way off - not to mention the lack of attachment Lennon fans will have to him playing this character. An actor that is less famous would be able to portray the feeling of an actual Lennon much better than Pitt, whom we would recognize as himself.

  35. 35

    Three words: WORST IDEA EVER!

  36. 36

Sounds like Brad is desperate to win an Oscar…we all know biopics are Oscar bait

  37. 37

Yea, Brad Pitt would be great as John Lennon. He does accents so well! (sarcastic)

  38. 38

    God please no.

  39. 39

I think that Perez is misinformed. I mean Brad Pitt would have to be absolutely insane to think he could pull that off! I think Orlando Bloom, James MacAlvoy (sp?), Daniel Radcliffe (looks just like him, acting I'm not so sure about) same with Justin Timberlake (looks only) would all be better. Brad is not skilled enough to transform himself into John Lennon in a believable fashion.

  40. 40

You know who would be more believable? Ryan Gosling. Seriously. I could picture him easily as John Lennon. That's the only actor who I think could pull it off.

    41

Who knew. I, on the other hand, definitely see Joaquin Pheonix in that photo of Lennon, and Joaquin can sing.

  42. 42

    Brilliant!

  43. 43

Re: twistedwords – Yea, I could definitely see that.

  44. 44

Re: @v@ – I agree but I think he is a little too stocky.

  45. 45

    Imagine !!!!!!

  46. 46

Brad can take all the singing lessons he wants he still won't be able to sing.

  47. 47

How about hiring a British actor.

  48. 48

I'm more excited about the John Lennon biopic but not too crazy about Brad Pitt playing him.

  49. 49

How about coming up with an original idea Brad?

  50. 50

i mean if you ugly him up yeah…. i can kinda see it…but Brad isn't lanky and he has very strong jaw. I was mad when
Angie played a Bi-racial actor and even mad when she will be playing Cleopatra and I am her biggest fan…now Brad done fucked up. This is too much :/

  51. @v@ says – reply to this

    51

Re: twistedwords – Gosling might make a superb Lennon. Maybe even better than Phoenix. I'm changing my vote.

  52. 52

WRONG!! Brad Pitt looks nothing like John and certainly cannot sing as good as him. Hire some unknown but don't let some whipped moron like ArmPitt sully the great name of John Lennon! He deserves better! It's bad enough Yoko Ono approved - she has a lot in common with Whorealina, both are controlling bitches who had their husbands so whipped it's pathetic.

  53. 53

I wouldn't dismiss the casting out of hand, check out Pitt in Snatch, he can pull off accents, and he does have acting ability. The problem with casting unknowns is the film may not attract any attention. If a big name is cast, probably will have a better chance. Most biopics are not watched by anyone so a big name certainly helps.

    54

Re: Hassen Ben-Soba – Sorry was that a joke??? His accent in snatch is woeful, brad Pitt has one accent.. his own, theres no way in hell he could pull off a scouse accent not even in his wildest dreams. Let a scouser play the role of a scouser, it's the only way it'll be believable.

  55. 55

No way. I just do not see it.

  56. 56

    vanity project…

  57. 57

get an unknown, preferably a scouser

  58. 58

Brad Pitt as Lennon? No way! Val Kilmer would be a much better choice in my opinion. Look at how well he portrayed Jim Morrison of the Doors. Get real Hollywood! I find your lack of vision lacking.

  59. 59

    Ryan gosling all the way!!!!!

  60. 60

I personally think Adrian Brody would be PERFECT for the role. ;) YUM!

  61. 61

Brad Pitt will trash it - he is crap at accents and crap at charater acting - there is no way he would make this believeable…it such a bad idea it makes me weep

  62. 62

Brad Pitt as Lennon would be a HUGE mistake. HUGE HUGE HUGE mistake! What a stupid idea.

  63. 63

    terrible id rather see danrad

  64. @v@ says – reply to this

    64

Re: forcechild – Yes, Kilmer blew that Doors biopic away. I think I'd like to see a different face for this, precisely for that reason. Maybe Pitt can sing. We don't know. Gosling's Canadian, and a lot of Canadian actors can do scouser; it's a Commonwealth thing.

  65. 65

Are you kidding me! John Lennon he was so ugly, how can Brad ugly up enough for this role maybe wear a mask perhaps.

  66. 66

i like the idea of this movie, but i think it should be some english actor that isnt so famous i feel like the character shines through better that way, brad's fame would overtake the role

  67. @v@ says – reply to this

    67

Can Liam Gallagher act? He sounds quite a bit like Lennon in his recently released song 'The Roller.'
