Even the Catholic Church is getting into reality television!
The Discovery Network has just announced a new series, brought to you by The Vatican itself, called The Exorcist Files. The show reportedly will recreate documented stories of real-life hauntings and demonic possession, based on cases investigated by the Catholic Church. Each episode will explore a specific case only found in the the Vatican’s exclusive case files, as well as "interviews with the organization’s top exorcists — religious experts who are rarely seen on television." Discovery president and GM Clark Bunting explained:
“The Vatican is an extraordinarily hard place to get access to, but we explained we’re not going to try to tell people what to think… The work these folks do, and their conviction in their beliefs, make for fascinating stories."
For sure! Nothing like a good exorcism to livin' up a network lineup!
The show won't debut on the network until the spring, but if it is successful and they get the Church's blessing, the producers want to take the series one step further and join Catholic investigators on "live demon-purging ride-alongs. "
Intense! We're totes intrigued by this! Sounds positively chilling!
