Twilight Producer Answers BIG Breaking Dawn Questions!

breaking dawn updates

Hooray for Breaking Dawn updates!

Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey has got answers to some big questions about the upcoming two-part movie.

Here's what he had to say about where the films will split in half:

"We basically want to take the audience through the emotional part of Bella's journey as she becomes a vampire. The first part will cover the wedding, the honeymoon and the birth."

On Breaking Dawn's PG-13 rating:

"It would be a crime against our audience to go R-rated. This is based on a much more mature book. We need to progress and be more sophisticated."

On the PG-13 birth scene:

"She is looking through the haze, experiencing pain and everything rushing around her. We only see what she sees."

On the Edward/Bella "consummation" scene:

"It does not become soft porn. It is a legitimate and important part of the movie, romantic and sensual."

No HUGE surprises here. Should def be inneresting to see how they actually end up doing the birth scene and "consummation" scene.

Thoughts???

There's gonna be a lot of wet panties in the audience.

  2. 2

They should rename is Breaking Porn..eff the kiddies. bring us the sex scene!

  3. 3

I expect them to screw it up like they did with the first 3 movies. Melissa Rosenberg could not translate the books into movies. The scripts sucked.

They should all thank Catherine Hardwicke for casting Robert Pattinson or the movies would be box office disasters.

  4. 4

Sounds promising, but then again Louisiana.

  5. 5

baarf! they think they are harry potter so they think they need to split the movie, but they are not! the book is very boring and doesn't contain too much to be splited

Re: Sydney_c – you are totally right! tood bad the fans don't open their eyes to realize that averything sucks

Among the many retarded things about this book: Stephanie Meyer leads you on for 3 LONG books and can describe a disgusting birth scene in detail and yet manage to say barely ANYTHING about the sex scene. WTF. The gory details of the birth at least make it out for a more mature audience… so why couldn't a little more be described? I think she's scared of good writing and sex. I really tried to give those books a chance. They all weren't great… but the last one is a disaster.

I thought you said you had news. This shit is wack…..

I don't think the "sex" part in the book was meant to be graphic. I like the way Meyers laid it out by letting the readers imagine what happened, especially since the next part it talks about the next morning. I do think the first movie wasn't as accurate, and the second could use a bit more details, but the third so far has been the only one close to the book. Also, I am a Harry Potter fan, and I agree TOTALLY with paulina=dan radcliffe fan #1, the book doesn't really contain much to be split into 2. The only reason why the book was so long is cause she kept hopping from each point of view… However, I am excited to see it, but not the wait for the 2nd half…

these last two movies will not at all be like the books. but i couldn't care less, the books are way better than the movie adaptions.

I was watching a movie on HBO the other day and it said

    Rated PG-13
    Adult Content
    Adult Situation
    Adult Language

soooooooooo………………lol take that how you want lol!!!!!!

Re: Sydney_c – I am pretty certain that no matter who was cast in the role of Edward, they would have become an instant megastar because that's how tween girls roll.
Re: girlgirl – She's a Mormon. Of course she's not going to write a detailled sex scene…

  13. 13

Re: Nathiestx – umm…live in louisiana and i think its awesome here.
This movie doesnt need to become 2 movies, the book was long enough. It led you on and on and for WHAT A PEACE TREATY!!!!

  14. 14

    that's boring ^_^

and still do not understand the point of the split - the wedding, the sex and the birth are going to be looooooooong. but if it's through bella's eyes, does that mean no jacob part?

  15. 15

I'm not even sure if I want to watch this movie. I'm pretty sure they are going to butch it just like they did we the other ones. How come the screen writer make a sex scene that it's not in the book but then cut the damn birth because it's to graphic. And making two movies! Come on, the book don't have the material for 2 parts. God, the director and the person that its making the screen writing should be fired!

    16

Whoah a spoiler alert would have been nice for the people that havnt read the books!!

  17. 17

I wish Mormons wouldn't tell vampire stories. Now, if any of 'em wanta take on Shelley with the 'Many Brides of Frankenstein' or somethin', hell, have it.

    There, I said it.

  18. 18

Two Parts? Absolutely no need. Clearly trying to milk it for all the money they can get. Idiots.

  20. 20

this movie shouldnt be any different from the others…it will suck as usual!

  21. 21

This movie is going to be a worse clusterfuck than the book. I can't wait to laugh my ass off.

  22. 22

cant wait to see the movies~~~~ gonna be great
by the way, i love reading your blob perez, but why do you spell 'interesting' 'inneresting'? i always wondered about that~ *^^*

  23. 23

this movie is gonna be (in the words of Charles Barkley) TURRIBLE.

i don't see it being any good. the birth scene should be bloody and gruesome its a human having a vampires child for Bob's sake!!!
from the very beginning i said i would LOVE if Tim Burton directed that 1 scene…that would've been the greatest thing in Twilight history.
as for this book being "mature"…FUCKING A Twilight producer. its a series about a dumb bitch that falls in love with a fucking deadman and decides to marry him and carry his fucking 1/2 dead spawn…how mature do you need to be to get that?

  24. 24

Can't wait to see Jacob fall in love with an infant. I think this part alone will have a lot of wet panties in the audience……..

  25. 25

The birth scene in her point of view? She didn't really see anything in the book. But to keep it PG-13 I guess that's what has to happen. That really sucks.

  26. 26

Re: paulina=dan radcliffe fan #1 – exactly, nothing happens much it is 90% flowery description, the poor trees had to die because of smeyers infatuation with the thesaurus

  27. 27

I would be absolutely devastated if the sex scene was just of them falling on the bed and then darkness and cut to the next day.
This is one of the most important scenes in the book. It's like dramatically necessary. So I'm very glad that the director is going to make an effort to show the audience who haven't read the books that this is the turning point in Bella's existence.
Woo! I just wish Stephenie would have released the fifth book! It kills me that all I have are these books to remind me of her amazing world. I want more!
The movies don't hurt either, I can stare at Taylor Lautner's abs all day….
And to add a comment about the sex scene not being explained in greater detail…
I didn't need the whole picture, like the penetration and all the nasty facts. I mean how far could she really go? She described the scene perfectly in my eyes. In Bella's words all she had to say was it was the best night of her life and I knew. Unless you're just a creepy 50 year old man reading Twilight and MUST be able to picture the whole dirty scene, I think we all can relate to those amazing nights ;) so we don't need too much detail.
Plus Stephenie Meyer is Mormon, which is odd to me, not judging but it's just very odd, she probably WAS scared of sex.
But I think the movie will make up for the measly sex scene in the book.
