How proud Sarah Palin must be that she can now add MURDERER to her resume.

coming from a woman with no morals…….really?

I could care less what this woman has to say….she is not good enough to give out any advice or thoughtful ideas.

    4. 4

amazing…I'm having goosebumps. this is so touching, we need to change the world!!!!!

    5. 5

Perez, I love you, but you should not use the expression "in light of" when writing about a tragedy. "In light of" means considering something in a humorous manner. You should use, "in response to," or "with respect to," or "considering," or any number of other transitions, but "in light of" makes it seem like you find this funny, when obviously you don't.

Re: mamakangaroo – I used the word #light very purposefully. Watch the video (above) to understand.

    7. 7

This is why I love Madonna. (Also, at times like these, Perez.)

    8. 8

Wow. This is why Madonna is not a mere diva or just a singer, she's a Queen. Amazing message and contrary to what the haters so (who cares about who she's dating, or who she sleep with 25 years ago) she really does care about making a difference and using her celebrity for good causes. At this point she has nothing left to prove.

    9. 9

I'm glad she is talking about this in Israel!
It's THE number ONE place where they kill innocent children.

    10. 10

This video is so touching and beautiful!:) Thank you so much for sharing this with us Perez. It sends a great and positive message.

OMG, the bitch can't sing ! She "murdered" that song ! UGGHHHHHH She is one of the first artists to get a record deal and have no singing abilities.

    12. 12

Message is good but please stop pushing this Madonna's kabbalah light crap down our throats!

    13. 13

I'm not really certain how this relates; certainly, it has to do with gun violence but outside of that…?

    14. 14

Re: Perez Hilton – Even if light wasn't used because of the video… the terminology is right.

      Idiom dictonary:
      in (the) light of something
Fig. because of certain knowledge now in hand; considering something. (As if knowledge or information shed light on something.)

    15. 15

Re: Perez Hilton – she ruined my favourite song!..why do you like madonna perez? Is it cos gays just love her so you have to follow the 'croud'?..be original

    16. 16

Re: mamakangaroo – You're wrong. In light of means 'considering" or "given". It means something is being observed from a particular viewpoint. Keep that in mind for next time you hear the term.

    17. 17

is this new to americans?! does it take madonna to make you look outside the states? dont you realise that children in your own country are being "trained" and shown how to kill and be racist? these children are so scarred by war that they have no choice in taking up arms, they will be killed/raped if they dont. dont be suprised when we have an army of Afghan children in a few years time.

    18. 18

Spool over her. She's not God. Quit treating her like one.

    19. 19

Thank you Perez for sharing that.

    20. 20

This suits her. She looks to other countries to help with their violence. Why not, she looked outside the country to find a child. Look out the window, look at all the violence and suffering that is within the usa. Charity begins at home. I don't feel she is sincere, This is a new fad, flavor of the day, etc. sorry. Plus she succccckkked singing that song, Seal & Pink sounded better at there parts than she did.

    21. 21

Re: mamakangaroo – It happens often on this site that people correct the grammar/spelling of others, and they are either miserably wrong, as in your case, or their own spelling/grammar is severely lacking. This is why there will never be true peace in the world. People just can't leave well enough alone, and live and let live. There will always be the conquering instinct within humans. Someone will always want what someone else has and try to take it by brute force. It is wonderfully idealistic to Imagine, but there will never be a world without war until it is completely conquered by one.

    22. 22

Oh barf. The message was great, and good for her, but why that song? There isn't another one? I've always liked her, and in a way it may have been good for her to tackle "Imagine", since it doesn't take a great singer. Still, it's pretty damn hard to separate Lennon from the song, even though he's only been dead for 30 years. I also didn't see any little American kids, even though there are plenty right here who suffer every day. Still, it's more than I've done, so I still love her.

    23. 23

a genius has to invent a way of malfunctioning all guns in the world

    24. 24

This woman's faux British/American/Upper class accent makes my skin crawl. You are gutter trash Madonna, stop acting like you are something else.

    25. 25

OMG this video left me speechless.. love the ending!
I am a jew and I wish and pray for peace everyday.

No matter what people say #LOVEISLOUDER !

    26. 26

Re: mamakangaroo – What fucking dirt trash elementary school did you flunk out of? "In light of" means, simply, "considering." Nothing more. Nothing less. Are you autistic?

    27. 27

Re: Bellagio – Sarah Palin did not shoot anyone - a deranged kid who loves Hitler and Karl Marx did - stop making things worse!

    28. 28

Re: Bellagio – Stop being such a troublemaker - first you blame someone that didn't do the crime - now you are attacking people over verbiage…Please take your Prozac or Valium and COOL IT!

    29. 29

Gotta call BS, Kabbalah is most certainly a religion. It's very tied up in religion. The song says NO religion. It does it for a reason. Beliefs require personal investment and self image thus making them hard to change. Her message is ok, but it's flawed. I'll take Dr. Seuss, George Carlin and Jim Henson over Madonna any day. True lovers, thinkers, and dreamers. Even if the message had tough love in it from time to time. They never lied to me. Most everyone else has.

    31. 31

That's got to be the worst cover of "Imagine" I've ever heard–and I have heard some awful ones–which explains why she rarely does covers since she has a tendency to butcher the original (Exhibition A: American Pie). It's pretty bad, IN LIGHT OF the message she's giving.

    34. 34

For once, you post something that is worth blogging about.

    35. 35

Re: maemers – It relates because it's about keeping peace.

    36. 36

What baffles me is that no one actually comments on the message of the video. Everyone is too busy arguing with each other over spelling and grammar or criticizing the song choice. Really?! Ha, why can't we all just get along? People need to grow up. There are more important issues in the world! Regardless of who is sending the message, it's still a good one.

    37. 37

This is such a beautiful video. Things like this are the reason Madonna is my role model and inspiration in everyday life. Truly the most amazing woman in the world. Thank you, Perez! =)

    38. 38

really touching, what's the point of fighting.

Funny how the ear is trained to expect or want Lennon's voice coupled with the strains of 'Imagine.' Once you intellectually decide to reject expecting Lennon's vocal, and really listen to Madonna's version, there's an ethereal, pure and unflourished rendition here that I've decided that I like very much.

      41

Madonna is a confirmed retard and whatever message she's trying to put out there is falling on deaf ears. You want peace in the middle east? Tell the jews to quit stealing people's land and forcing them out of their homes - that is your only solution.

    42. 42

Re: mamakangaroo – Actually, "in light of" is the correct term to be used in this instance, as it means "considering" or "in response to". It is typically used in a context that would denote that certain new knowledge is being applied.
-EX: In light of the investigation's findings, the following new rules will be implemented. -
However, that's just me and Meriam Webster's opinion…. but chaknow, maybe next time you deign to correct someone's idiom usage, you'll do a rudimentary google search?

fuck the message!! if IMAGINE is on her new CD i will not download it for free on torrents, fuck that shit!!

    46. 46

perez, i fail to see how the shooting of a democrat congresswoman in the US is related to an appearance of madonna in israel 10 years ago. of course one would argue that the message of peace is the link but this post of yours is wrong on so many levels: first, i get the feeling you have posted this because a few days ago you posted a video in which you were semi-critical of gender issues in israel and of course as usual the avalanche of israeli outrage begun. i'm surprised they didn't call you anti-semitic since anyone who dares to criticize is anti-semitic. so my advice to you, don't be a p***y. stick to your guns. you were not wrong to criticize and this video of madonna makes no sense. i love me some madonna. i've traveled around the world to watch her but the bitch should know that peace in the middle east will come when israel stops land-grabbing and masking their colonial adventure in spiritual clothing

    47. 47

a very touching video, i like what madonna is trying to get across too, kinda like treat others how you want to be treated… shame it dosnt always work like that though.

    48. 48

I cannot comprehend the hate in the hearts of the people who are leaving negative comments about this video. There is a man carrying the headless body of a child and you all criticize Madonna's singing voice. WHO THE EFF CARES ABOUT HER SINGING???!!! Fuckin' priorities you sick people! There are children being killed! Decapitated for fuck sakes! Why can't spoiled fat Americans step away from their Xbox for two fuckin' seconds to consider the enormity of the struggle for life for billions of people who will never enjoy even one second of the pleasures you take for granted on a daily basis? One day of living as a child instead of a "soldier" would be a blessing for millions of kids around the world. They cannot imagine sleeping through the night in peace, let alone playing games or just having some fun. Americans can be so incredibly hateful and it really is no wonder that it is advisable that you wear a Canadian flag on your clothing when you travel outside of the United States so you won't be kidnapped and killed. The presumption is that you are assholes. Based on many of the comments in here I would have a hard time disagreeing.

    49. 49

Re: mamakangaroo – No, you are completely wrong and "In light of.." does not mean this at all. Perez is entirely correct to use the phrase in this way, and it scans much better than the alternatives you suggested, of which only "In response to" actually fits the bill. There is no humorous intention denoted by the phrase "In light of.." so I'm not sure where you're getting that from, unless you're confusing it with other uses of the word "light" as in "light comedy". Perez knows what he's doing, you don't! I suggest you actually look this kind of thing up before commenting as it just shows you in a bad light (!). It also leads one to assume you're American, grammar/literacy not being your strong point :p

    50. 50

Re: mamakangaroo – im sure you are confused with "make light of" that means to make it less serious

    51. 51

sorry i dont dislike madonna but that is an awful cover of the song

    52. 52

Ohhh my God….I just finished a brilliant new thriller called the Kaibab Resolution which could have been written about this senseless act. It deals with gun law in America, the targeting of politicians and crazy political assassinations. I put the book down and turned on the news to see it all unfold in real life….when is America going to wake up?

    53. 53

RIP to the ones who died. =[
      So sorry about this….

    54. 54

      Re: likethepear
It's a good thing not all of us are easily swayed by your guilt-inducing tactics as we're not by Madonna's over-idealistic message brought to you by another one of her Kabbalah projects. One night of living through the eyes of a child is not going solve the world's problems, no matter how flawless Madonna looks when she tells you it will when she speaks with her always so forced sincerity. If Madonna really wants to change the world, how about she spend a night living in one of those poor, war-torn countries like these children do without the comforts of her bottled water, designer pumps, or personal trainer.

    55. 55

i turned it off as soon as I saw Madonna.

    56. 56

      Re: likethepear

Soooo….what do you do for those kids?

    57. 57

Re: ILoveJesseMac – nope. it's not even close to number one

    58. 58

Re: likethepear – probably by far the most honest and accurate comment i've read so far.

    59. 59

Re: DarkAdaptedEye – in your rant about idealism you come to the conclusion that if madonna spends a night in a war torn country the world will change? that person might be idealistic but you my dear are just stupid.

    60. 60

What happened to the cries for Sarah Palin's head on a stick? The imprisonment of Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly? The destruction of the Tea Party Movement?

Ahh, I see. He turned out to be a far left liberal, by his own admission and that of people that know him. Now he's just a mentally ill kid with no political leanings. Pathetic.

Start eating crow liberals, he is one of your own. Loughner did this hideous act because Giffords was too conservative.

    61. 61

some Chapter 27 quotes to annoy Perez with …. Imagine no possessions. The bastard had millions.

    62. 62

Funny thing is that she really isn't preaching Kabbalah. She is talking about morals and loving your neighbor which is universal when it comes to religion. We need more people (like Madonna has) to come out and speak publicly about senseless killings and tolerance. You can love or hate Madonna but her message is right and its from the heart. Her documentary is amazing

    63. 63

      Re: o3mta3o
Obviously you must fall much further left on the bell curve if you read into my "rant" that I concluded she can change the world. See, I'm not that naive to think she's capable of doing that. But if she wants to convince me to buy into her lofty ideals, I SUGGEST, for once, that she walk the walk, my dear.

    64. 64

It's amazing how Madonna's Stans will just eat up everything she preaches. If Angela Jolie, or even worse, Lady GaGa, delivered the exact same message, you same people would say it was pure bullshit!

    65. 65

      Re: beautifulchild

She's been preaching tolerance her entire career.. i would hardly call it bullshiz.

    66. 66

Okay, Mario, she said some very NICE WORDS. Do you think people who HATE are going to LISTEN TO THIS, MUCH LESS FOLLOW HER DRIBBLE? You Mario, are SO TAKEN with Madonna's words. Well, GUESS WHAT? They have been said OVER AND OVER AGAIN, in all different languages, by different religious leaders, some country leaders, and YES, by everyday people. Countries, people at war, these words don't matter. Hate might rule the individual person, but higher up, it is all about POWER AND MONEY. and it will never change. Read blogs from yesterday in this country, for the HATE. Power and Money has DIVIDED THIS COUNTRY and now, you see hate among a large % of the everyday person, whether they are D or R. AND EVERYONE STARTS POINTING FINGERS….

    67. 67

before ANYTHING CAME OUT ABOUT THIS 22 YO YOUNG MAN-across the blogs- people were saying Palin was overjoyed, people were hoping it was an illegal (cause Tuscon is a hot spot for illegals), rumors the shooter was an afgan vet, so some PROCLAIMED 'THE TEA PARTY WAS DONE!' ?????? (don't get that at all). 'the rep. order the hit' someone saw Bill O'Reilly jump up with glee. The Congresswoman was a moderate and not following Obama's plans, a hit by the liberals…. HATE HATE HATE HATE. SO PATHETIC, THIS WOMAN WAS A HUMAN BEING FIRST, ALONG WITH THE OTHER 18 SHOT, AND YES, SOME WHERE KILLED. THEN, you get down to the specifics.

    68. 68

      Re: BAEEAB
I never said it was, Stan. I said, if the message was delivered by a different messenger (most specifically by the ones noted), you would it call it bullshit. Don't pretend you wouldn't. Please, Madonna does not have a monopoly on preaching tolerance.

    69. 69

      Re: beautifulchild

Really? You know me that well do you? LOL

    70. 70

      Re: BAEEAB
Well, I KNEW you'd say something like that. And it's not that to track your anti-GaGa rants. So, yeah, I do.

    71. 71

      Re: likethepear
Why do you presume that everyone leaving "hateful" comments is a spoiled American? Furthermore, what exactly are you doing to make this world any better for these kids? It's easy to sit here and ooh and ahh about Madonna's message, but that doesn't mean anything if you're not getting off your ass (not implying anything about you personally) and doing something about it. Making anti-American remarks and subtlety agreeing that we're all assholes isn't a step in the right direction. I've lived in and visited several countries in my life. I've seen hate come from all kinds of people, and it wasn't just toward Americans.

    75. 75

      Always loved her speeches.
Not the best cover of Imagine but I've heard worse.

    76. 76

She starts off with a sales pitch for her particular brand of religion.

Then she sings "Imagine no religion."

      Okay, which is it?

    77. 77

Re: Perez Hilton – I did watch the video, but I stand by my comment. "In light of" insinuates something is funny. Sorry, just the English teacher in me….. I do love you though. Your writing has improved over the last few years, but there is always room for more improvement. Grammar is important. Just think, when you write poorly and make mistakes, millions of people passively absorb these errors, which negatively affects their command of the English language. Write well and correctly and millions of people passively absorb great English, which directly improves their own English! Please let me proofread for you. I live abroad and am looking for some work and could propose a trial. I'm coming to California in one week, so could meet with you about this. (I'm serious!!!)

    78. 78

      1) This clip is really old
      2) Why use Madonna specifically to highlight the recent events?
      3) Surely 'the new Perez' can highlight this kind of important issue in a more personalised, direct and up-to-date manner?
      4) What's with the constant "#LoveIsLouder" spamming? Will you be responding to your readers with "#JesusIsOurSaviour" next? It doesn't really mean anything? It's an ambiguous phrase????

    79. 79

      Re: mamakangaroo

Sorry, but Perez used "in light of" correctly.

Perez: If you do need an editor, please get one who knows not only the difference between "infer" and "imply" but also the subtle difference between "imply" and "insinuate."

Loved this! I think we all need to step back from ourselves and view ourselves as the amazing organism that we humans are. We are also flawed. We can see the external scars from injuries throughout a lifetime. Yep, even pock marks! Internally we're scarred too. We just can't see those scars. Our brain is fragile and attacked by viruses of which we may never be aware. Our reasoning is attacked by life traumas we may not even remember or fully understand. If ANYONE of us manages to come through this difficult life able to take a stand for world peace it's a wondrous miracle. Please, Perez, keep encouraging those who have come through life, no matter how scarred, to take this stand for world peace and even love. Bless you! May the tears, pleas, cries, work and prayers for world peace and even love grow and grow and grow and grow.
