James Franco Refers To Himself As James Franco!

Nothing wrong with referring to yourself in the third person. Perez Hilton does it all the time! Ha!

As James Franco and Co. continue to promote his new flick 127 hours overseas, some eccentric details about Franco's, um, acting process have been revealed. Director Danny Boyle explained to one source:

"While we were shooting the film, he would sometimes ask me, 'What do you want him to do?' I would say, What do you mean? He would say, 'What do you want from him in this scene?' You mean your character? 'No, no. Franco. What do you want from Franco?' He was talking about himself in the third person…I said, 'Well, I think he should be more emotional.' And he said, 'Oh, I can get him to do that.' And then he'd do the scene and he'd be amazing."

Hey, if it works for James Franco, we say roll with it! The flick has gotten nothing but positive reviews so James Franco's got to be doing something right.

Don't you agree, James Franco?

It drives me nuts when ppl refer to themselves in third person. It sounds arrogant and self entitled. That includes you Perez.

  2. 2

Third person referral has always been a pet peeve of mind, regardless of who is doing it. It seems so affected when there are perfectly good pronouns a person can use to identify themselves such as "I" and "me".

  3. 3

HE CAN CALL HIMSELF A NUTCRACKER… HMM, TELL FRANCO THAT, FRANCO. SEE HOW THAT WORKS OUT WITH BEING MORE EMOTIONAL.

  4. 4

    Jimmy likes James Franco.

  5. 5

I love this freak - he's brilliant - and if he needs to disassociate his real self in order to play a character, so be it. a lot of great actors do weird things to make it work.

  6. 6

Gotta love "the Franco"..he is an actor, after all…look at Christian Bale..he's a bit eccentric, but he is a brilliant actor..Marlon Brando was crazy as a shit house rat but he was a great actor..I don't think you get to be great unless you are a bit strange

Re: Abbylynn – it is amazing the Mario posted this, considering he does the royal 'we' thing, which leads me to believe, actually KNOW, that he does not post most of this crap, which he continues to deny, deny, lie, lie lie.

this guy is a freak. His put on eccentricities are just his way of getting attention. You are just an actor. Thats all. and you look like a monkey. not cute at all

  9. 9

just sounds like he was trying to stay in character. i hear day-lewis does the same thing.

  10. 10

Using the third person and the third person plural in referring to oneself is annoying enough when used by royalty and people of importance. Its use becomes more annoying when people like Perez Hilton, who ARE NOTHING, use them.

  11. 11

Oh, zip it, Mario! You use the royal "we" all the God-damned time. You are one meth-head, not two meth-heads. It is fucking amazeballs what a fucking hypocrite you are. I can't wait for you to turn on Lady Garbage and start trashing her like you trashed Paris Hilton after YEARS of kissing ass.

  12. 12

I think James France is the new James Dean. Whatever works for ya, keeping doing it.

  13. 13

I love james franco and he is so hot but on that pick he looks so ugly.

  14. 14

That is the sexiest thing I have ever heard. And intelligent too.

  15. 15

Franco can refer to himself however he wants, he is perfection, love him…crazy and all!

  16. 16

That's just how actors work in their head..it's the I and then the characters that they are playing. That's how Actors have to think to portray someone else. He was also being ironic with that whole process.

  17. 17

    His acting works for me.

  18. 18

the guy is obviously on sum kind of drugs and pills combo… he has that "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas" vibe.

  19. 19

I think he should refer to himself with a more self-descriptive moniker, i.e. The Tool.

  20. 20

It's weird but kind of charming at the same time. A lot of actors have different methods that work for them.

  21. 21

I laughed so hard at this :D

  22. 22

    I so would S his D

  23. 23

What a loser. Um, take yourself a little too seriously there, James. Fuck your life.

  24. 24

Hehe, it'z kindda weird. But bcuz it'z Franco it'z cute too ^.^

  25. 25

Honestly, talking in third person typically annoys the SHIT out of me. It's so condescending and yes, arrogant…but for some reason I just cannot get arrogance from James Franco. Franco is just such a bright spot in the acting world- I totally see where he's coming from. The disassociation just seems…natural? to me. Give me honesty, tell me what you wouldn't say to my face and I will give you my best.

  26. 26

    this is bullshit.

  27. 27

Hi Perez…will you please stop using that picture of him. he's so much hotter than that it's not a flattering pic at all. thanks ♥

  28. 28

mentally ill much? he looks like a lowlife gay gigolo!!

  29. 29

Re: fairmaiden – JAMES FRANCE????? you're a fucking goof!!

Love James Franco - what a great actor. The movie *127 Hours* is both amazing and disturbing at the same time. One thing is certain, however - James Franco does an amazing job in it. I hope he is nominated for an Academy Award - he deserves it!
