this girl is genuinely inspirational and all women/girls should look up to her. i've suffered from minor stress related hairloss myself and as a woman, losing even a bit of hair really destroys your self esteem. to have no hair and still be confident enough to compete in beauty pageants is truly inspirational!

I have Alopecia and lost my hair last year! It was really hard for me to deal with and I feel UGLY every day! I just think of how lucky I am to have my health at least. I Love her story and I think she is so brave and confident. She truely gives me encouragement to go about my day and not worry about being different. Thanks Mrs. Delaware

Nice to see a woman with good self esteem.

I think she would be making a much bigger statement if she were to not wear the wigs. That isn't being bald and beautiful, its wearing and wig and being beautiful. While I feel for her and her illness, I think she should take a stand for all those little girls out there who have this same disease and want to be beauty queens and beautiful women and not have to worry about the fact that they don't have hair. I think if she were to not wear her wig and win, it would be AMAZING. I wish her the best of luck though,

I love that she's comfortable with her condition and whatnot, but if bald is beautiful (which it is!), why doesn't she choose to be bald during the competition? That would really be making a statement.

Some people look good with the bald headed look, other don't. I think it has to do with the shape of the head.

beautiful girl and such an inspiration……….I feel silly complaining about "not enough volume" in my hair after seeing that………we're all different and all need to embrace our differences…….

She actually looks better bald, and would probably do better in the competition without the wig. It would show how she is not insecure about her body, regardless of who is around… she was BORN THAT WAY ;)

wow thats great! I had to cut my hair because of years of relaxing my hair to get it straight cause soo much damaged and alopecia can be caused by doing that to your hair. i cried about getting my hair cut, something about the hair is a comfort zone! I feel soo silly crying now :( hair is hair and it will grow. I think she looks hot! her and Amber rose derverified (sp) the no hair look!

I think it is wonderful. I have a daughter that has had it since she was 3 and it kills her. She is beautiful and out going and smart but deep down she thinks everyone looks at her different. I wish she would see this but I know if I show her it it will make her upset. She does not like to talk about it. If there is anyway I can get in touch with Kayla Martell for her to speak with my daughter that would be wonderful.

Re: Master Baiter – You're right, but perhaps it's still hard for her.
