The economy seems to be finally be rebounding, with stocks climbing to a two year high yesterday!

The stock market is 6 to 9 months forward thinking. We started the run at the end of the 3rd quarter when it was a fore-gone conclusion that the conservatives would make historic gains in the November elections and tie Obama's hands. If you remember correctly the opposite happened in '07 when the presidental elections was going to the liberals and the market discounted this by crashing and remaining on the low's for almost 2 years. As we get closer to the 2012 elections and the movement pushes this guy out of office completely the market with begin to make newer highs.

Actually Mel702, unemployment went DOWN last month from 9.8% in November to 9.4% in December. But why let facts get in the way of your post?

But the high stock prices hardly reflect the sour economy…

Mario - stick to celebrity gossip. It's something you are okay at. Politics is not your bag, baby! Over 1M homes foreclosed, unemployment/underemployment at an all time high, stocks ending high & low (with no consistency) — how is this good?

And yet there is a prediction of over 1 million foreclosures for this year! Yes, the economy is finally rising!

It's rising for the rich while the gap between middle class and poor shrinks.
Jobs are still going overseas and nowhere to be found. Foreclosure's are going to surpass last years 1 million.
But by all means lets report that the DEPRESSION is over.
So how is the tea party working for y'all? LOL

Things are not going well here on Main Street.

The recession for ordinary workers will be over when there are reasonably well paying jobs….instead of unemployment and low paying jobs. And foreclosures go back to normal levels while home prices stabilize.

It is so nice to know stocks are climbing. (sarcasm)
