The world is getting The Beaver, whether they like it or not!

The Jodie Foster-directed drama, which stars Mel Gibson as a troubled man who finds comfort talking to the world through a talking puppet, will make its debut in the SXSW Film Conference on Wednesday, March 16th!

SXSW producer Janet Pierson says:

“Each of these films really showcases an artist stretching his or her wings in some way, whether it be a late-night talk show host taking his act on the road, an actress-filmmaker carefully and beautifully tackling a heartbreaking subject in her finest work yet, or a successful photographer trying out a new medium in a new landscape.”

It hits theaters everywhere else April 8th.

We'll be VERY curious to see how it's received at the festival!

And even MORE curious to see if Mel himself is present for the screening!

What do U think?? Are U excited for The Beaver??

This will flop. Most people are not going to get behind a film with Mel Gibson.

  2. 2

I wouldn't watch it if they gave me free tickets and popcorn.

Fuck no. Only if Wally is there with the Beav.

  4. 4

I heard that Mel Gibson will arrive with Oksana's ass Super-Glued to the end of his herpetic and shriveled two-inch dick (hence the need for Super Glue).

I like Mel. He has made some great films. He may act a little strange but hey, Hollywood is strange. They have the corner on money sucking leaches.

  6. 6

    Anti-semitic abusers suck!

I don't care about his personal life. The trailer for this movie looks very good and if it is shown in my area I will see it.

Didn't you already ask this question?

  9. 9

Sadly, it won't do well because most people hate Mel now. But I'm sure its a good movie. When does Mel ever do bad movies?

Jodie Foster is going to kill her directing career with this- the sad thing is, it's her own fault.

Who the hell would see this movie? WHO! I mean, It's called the Beaver and it isn't even a porno. How did this poop get the green light?

  12. 12

Beaver is what got him into trouble in the first place.

So many things wrong with this. The title. The picture. Mel Gibson. His puppet co-star. I will see this. It's going to be funny for all the wrong reasons like Spiderman the musical.

This movie will be a major FLOP for Mel Gibson - what a role for a "comeback"? To act as a nutso pretending to be a beaver? It really doesn't bode well. Besides its a bad script and we could already see that in the trailers. It should go straight to Red Box DVD. Maybe people won't even rent it for a dollar !! Mel should pay us for watching this crap of a movie!

i'll see it. i hate mel like the rest of you, but believe it or not…. he's a good actor. shitty person…. but good at his craft.

There was a character in Sydney White that talked through a puppet. This is not a new idea.
