The Kennedys Were Cut Loose AGAIN

| Filed under: Film FlickersKatie Holmes

The eight-part miniseries The Kennedys, starring Greg Kinnear and Katie Holmes, has been passed on by another network.

Showtime has decided not to buy the miniseries that was just dropped by The History Channel last week.

An exec claims that "there has been interest expressed by several networks.” That may be true but there are no takers yet.

HBO already has an adaptation of Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy in development with Playtone, and Starz has not been approached.

Many believe that the film is slanted politically but director said that “the actual product takes no political stance one way or the other.”

Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Many believe that the movie was slanted politically? You're kidding, right? You mean, like the movies about Bush and Reagan were slanted politically to show them in the worse light possible? The Kennedy's have a lot of skeletons in their closet and the Kennedy family is fighting tooth and nail to prevent the movie from being shown anywhere. But, I guess it's okay to show Republican presidents in a negative way, but, when it comes to Democratics, it has to be all sweetness. Does anyone remember the movie about Hillary Clinton that was not allowed to be shown because it made her look bad?

Plus, Perez, all political movies are going to be slanted politically, one way or the other, so saying that's the reason it's not going to be shown is rather naive. This is the Kennedy family threatening and intimidating anyone who expresses interest in the movie.

Maybe the HORRIBLE idea to cast Greg FUCKING Kinear as JFK and Katie "Dear in the Headlights" Holmes and Jackie O has cast an ill light on this turd. It would be like having Miley Cyrus and Zac Efrom play Diana and Charles! Give me a fucking break!

I remember my elderly relatives thinking of JFK as a saint…young handsome President, beautiful wife and family and an Irish Catholic. That all changed when years after he died it was discovered that he had a revolving door on the White House bedroom and was being shot up with some illegal substances to ease his back pain. I guess everyone including the media knew about it but said nothing. The Kennedys were not saints but I guess would like us to continue to think that they were.

The producers haven't asked the right network yet. This series will get aired but the money won't be there. It's the chance you take doing a full mini series without a written binding contract from a network promising to air the show. suckers.

Re: Kimberbunny – HAHAH Deer in the headlights…

Anyone thought about just have Xenu pay for this pile of shit and then they can run it at all their cult meetings.

"Many believe"…? Pathetic weasel words. People should be outraged that the rich & powerful can so blatantly censor what they don't like. Why do the elites get to play by different rules than the rest of us, and why do we stand for it?

Maybe besides being horribly inaccurate for the history channel, its also terrible acting. Go to Stopkennedysmears if you wanna see why its inaccurate. the website has portions of the script with historians, and people who were actually there

Associated Press article said, "The (Showtime) network said in a statement that while "'The Kennedys is well acted, well produced and a quality miniseries, it doesn't fit the Showtime brand.""
Things that make you go hmmm.

With the Kennedy family, the facts simply arent pretty and they were hardly Camelot. So I guess the truth is a political statement? Theyve already lost their luster. In another decade, they'll be as memorable as Millard Fillmore's family.

Maybe the show focuses more on the gossip instead of being historically accurate. The Kennedys use to be on every tabloid paper for a long time. Of course, I'm just taking a guess as to why the show isn't being picked up.
