Behold…The Planes Of The Future!

northrop grumman perfect plane concept boeing perfect plane concept lockheed martin perfect plane concept

Check out the concept photos (above) to see what planes we COULD be using for travel in 2025.

Last year, contracts were awarded to teams at Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Northrop Grumman by NASA. The teams were asked to create the perfect plane for 2025, which must be "silent and with low fuel consumption."

Here were NASA's requirements for the "perfect plane":

And each design has to fly up to 85 percent of the speed of sound; cover a range of approximately 7,000 miles; and carry between 50,000 and 100,000 pounds of payload, either passengers or cargo.

We LOVED the Lockheed Martin design, but the Boeing and Northrop Grumman concepts were pret-ty cool as well.

Which of these do U think is the closest to being the perfect plane?

    It's Northrop Grumman, just sayin.

    NASA ?!?
Who the fuck cares about NASA !!!
Just go ask China's space agency to design something, and they'll come up with it in a week, and have it up in the skies by the end of the year.
Or, just go ask India's space agency.
My money's on any other space agency other than NASA, sorry. They've got a big budget, but don't don't produce shit.
So, therefore, they must just fuck off.

The "perfect" plane is one that won't crash.

    The perfect plane has:

    - no bathroom queues
    - enough room in the aisle for both the service cart and people needing to move about the cabin
    - enough seat room so that you can actually turn and bend your body by more than 45 degrees
    - HOT TUB!!!

When I was little i remember all of my teachers in school tell us that by the year 2000 there would be flying cars and all of this bullshit high technology that we were going to have for the future..guess what.. i'm still waiting. I hope they actually create this planes and not b.s us.

  6. 6

Yeah, I see the design on the first one. Looks like they can cram more people in the air and charge an arm and leg. Big surprise. Safety factors? Who cares, just shove on the plane and count the $$$

  7. 7

Something makes me think you are picking the design by how pretty the background image is. I'm willing to bet my right kidney you know shit about aircraft design and efficiency. I thought this was a celeb blog…

too bad lockheed martin is closing it's doors.

  9. 9

The third picture looks like a beautiful whale shlong.

  10. 10

Gurmman, God, you are a fucking idiot.

  11. 11

airbus forever, better than any american crap, lightyears ahead in technology, fuel economy and so on. Be open minded and stop trying to stifle european creations!!

  12. 12

    GURMMAN? lol
and of course you like the phallic one

  13. 13

The first one doesn't look like it would fly! 0.0 At least the last one is kind of similar to how they are now…

  14. 14

You don't have to be in NASA to figure out the one on the top would snap in half

  15. 15

It's "Grumman" and I like the idea of two engines rather than one big one. You never know when a flock of birds will kill an engine.

The second design is creepy. It almost looks like a giant bird.
