Our Favorite Moment From The Golden Globes!

| Filed under: InspirationAwardzGleeChris ColferGolden Globes

Without a doubt, the most well-deserved award of the night.

When Blair Waldorf called out Chris Colfer's name as the winner of the Best Supporting Actor category at last night's Golden Globes, we were ecstatic beyond words.

Then we watched him accept his prize and to see him so humbly thank his friends, peers and Ryan Murphy for the opportunity to work on Glee and we were reminded of just how genuine he really is. But the real kicker was the end of his speech.

Watch the clip (above) to hear for yourself the special message he sent out to the world.

It was truly the most special moment of the evening.

P.S. - If you really want to get a visual of our reaction to his moment, we refer you to Lea Michele's face during the cutaway. That' pretty much sums it all up.

Oh gosh. I literally teared up when they announced his name. I cried when he gave his acceptance speech, something I never do. It was -amazing-. Best win of the night and so well deserved. I think everyone was rooting for him.

  4. 4

Re: xcalibur – "Lea and Michele" are the same person. Her name is Lea Michelle and she did not win in the category she was nominated for. If you want to hate on the guy at least do your research. And "the gay dude" from the show is an amazingly talented actor. His role is not only entertaining its extremely inspirational and honest. I'm sorry if you don't agree but he deserved that award 100%.

what a wonderful moment. well deserved win!

  10. 10

Missed this part on the show and totally just bawled seeing him win and give his speech! Very well deserved!

  11. 11

awhh. he is so freaking adorable. i love him. and Lea is so gorgeous. you can tell that she's an amazing friend.

  12. 12

    Love his speech!
    But damn Glee SUCKS!

  13. 13

Re: xcalibur – HOMOPHOBE! gosh doesn't perez check these comments and can't he get ride of the rude and nasty people!

  14. 14

I don't watch the show, but this truly was a bittersweet win for him and the show. I liked how they thanked public school teachers last night when the show won as well. Very poignant.

  15. 15

Eric Stonestreet was robbed! I am so over the Glee obsession.

  16. 16

Oh, come one. Lea Michele was totally trying to steal the moment.
And while Chris Colfer and his character may be very likable, this was an award for acting, and let's be honest - a great actor he is NOT.

  17. 17

My favorite moment too! I was soooo proud of him! I just love him on Glee so much, he gives me strength to be the person I am. And what a classy person in real life, addressing all the bullied kids in America=True Class. And the Glee Cast Members reactions were adorable–especially Quinn and Lea. And his reaction was priceless, he couldn't even stand!
    Nice work, Chris Love ya!

Re: Harv – ummm…so gay people can't appreciate other gay artist's work without only liking them for being gay? I'm not gay and I love Chris Colfer to death. Just relax. You're not as talented as him, so there's no need to hate.

  19. 19

Meh…was your average speech. The bully part at the end was cool, but nothing special. You just say it was the best cause he's gay.

As for Lea Michelle's reaction…she is such a drama queen. Of course she saw the camera right on her, so she had to give her best OMG look, etc.

I like the show and all, but c'mon fatass, this speech was nothing special.

And to show that cried because of that? wow…pathetic

  20. 20

NOT ABOUT HIS WIN, but I cannot STAND when you CROSS LINK YOURSELF!!! and the COMMENTS ARE OFF !!!! Seems to me, you put 'stories' (copy and pastes) on your 'other sites' when you don't want them commented on. Like 'FASHIONS AT THE GOLDEN GLOBES' This actress outwore this designer, this one looks like a creamsicle, this one finally does not wear black… one and one and at first….THE PICS DON'T WORK AND NEITHER DOES YOUR SPELLING… But AMAZINGLY, not really of course, all the GLEE actresses WORKED THE CARPET, WERE STUNNING, ETC. and Jolie, 'took a chance with GREEN instead of wearing black, and LOOKED GORGEOUS, FIERCE DELUXE, -you show SO MUCH BIAS, and YOU WILL NOT ADMIT IT!!!!!

  21. 21

I'm sorry, but he didn't earn this. The portrayal of the character is weak, at best, and a ridiculous caricature of gay stereotypes. Being someone who actually has been bullied to the point of leaving school, I can tell you right now the plot in Glee was so insensitively hatched, I stopped watching the show this season. I hope that awards start to be given out based on talent, and opposed to content, because right now, this is the true discrimination. Because if he were straight, and Kurt's character were straight, he wouldn't have been nominated. And that's really patronizing, and a sure sign that things in Hollywood aren't changing as quickly as they say they are.

  22. 22

    What a gilry man.Bwhaaa haahaa!

  23. 23

why is the most deserved award of the night…because he is gay? ur so arrogant perez..

  24. Harv says – reply to this

Re: ithinkpigsarecool – ummmm… never mentioned the word hate. I just find it predicatable/laughable that fat boy would list this as his favorite part of the show as opposed to Michael Douglas making his first public appearance after several months of cancer therapy.

  25. 25

Yes!!!! That was one of the most moving award show moments ever. An Im award show junky : ) I cried for real. Tears down my face. I feel like this award show has marked a turning point for gays rights. God bless equality

  26. 26

Re: Harv – Totally agree with you. As I said, there were many other moments that stole the show, and Michael Douglas making an appearance was the best for sure.

  27. 27

i have to agree with 'Harv' when he said maybe michael douglas was the most special moment of the night. i'm not a hater but i think this deserves some perspective. the award was certainly well deserved but that and his acceptance speech don't make it the most special moment of the night.

  28. 28

and these lea michele haters. to say she was acting or trying to steal the moment or is such a drama queen. she was sobbing uncontrollably. that's not acting. that's love.

  29. 29

HE IS AMAZING. This made me cry so hard. So proud of him!!!

  30. 30

    I cried.

And Harv or whatever your name is name calling is a form of hate. You have hatred written all over your posts and it's sad and disgusting. FYI Douglas has been on a thousand shows since his chemo. He got famous for cheating on his wife in a movie and marrying someone 40 years younger. He's not my hero. He got cancer from excesive drinking and smoking.. again not heroic behavior.

  31. Harv says – reply to this

Re: tulip234 – What color is the sky in your world? A thousand shows… really!! He cheated on his wife in a movie??

  32. 32

I am so happy for him. He deserved it.

  33. 33

I love this speech I usually hate award speeches but this one was sweet.

  34. 34

I find it disgusting that a gay actor won an award for playing a gay actor…like that was any acting….he is being himself.

now give me a gay guy playing a straight guy or a straight guy playing a gay guy and then you have some real acting…..HE SHOULD NOT HAVE WON!

  35. 35

Re: Master Baiter – you cried when he won…..get a fucking life.

  36. 36

so cute. made me tear up a little. :)

  37. 37

Re: ItsAHit – There's always one! Why so cynical? She was emotional because she was pleased for her friend. There were others who were teary too but didn't have a camera shoved right in their face. Lea is a class act.

  38. 38

the award was deserved, but definitely not the most-deserving award of the night. his character wasn't really a stretch, or creative for that matter.

  39. 39

He is sooo talented. How can anyone not see his charm ?

  40. 40

    Re: YRUFATT – You're a tool.

  41. 41

Re: YRUFATT – What does being gay have to do with acting ? straight actors play straight characters everyday lol . Try again to make a valid point … cause yours kinda sucks and makes you come off as a tad….uh hateful

  42. 42

Re: YRUFATT – But if I got one- then I would have two lives. That's just selfish.
Don't be a tool. Somone can show emotion without being completely lame. I'm a complete GLEEK and I was rooting for him not just because of the show but because of his history IRL and what it represents for a lot of people out there. His story if the epitome of 'It gets better.' He came straight out of highschool being bullied, pushed around and made fun of and made something amazing out of himself. He didn't let assholes (likeyoucoughcough) stop him from being himself and I think that's an extremely inspiring thing. So go fuck your own mouth, you dingleberry.

  43. 43

That was so cute! Definitely made me emotional. So deserved!

  44. 44

Re: YRUFATT – [re=5540844"]I find it disgusting that a gay actor won an award for playing a gay actor…like that was any acting….he is being himself. " Have you ever watched the show or are you just spewing hate ? I kinda doubt his everyday life include large dance and musical numbers randomly throughout his day lol .. i dont know maybe your life is a musical but most of us are not that luck :-) The kid has talent . Get over it

  45. 45

Here is the only point necessary: this extremely flamboyant, gay actor/singer wins an award for portraying an extremely flamboyant, gay actor/singer. Colfer is just the latest political pawn in Hollywood's misconstrued pro-gay agenda…let's see him play a character that doesn't revolve around his sexual orientation and receive such esteem and attention from his peers. Just to prove I'm not spouting anti-gay sentiment, Stonestreet should have won, not because he is a straight man playing gay, but because he has talent- he is believable.

  46. 46

to be honest all those saying that Lea Michele was 'FAKE' crying I really dont believe she was cos in a lot of interviews she says how she is chris' biggest fan and they are very good friends and just looking at her it didnt really look fake. LOVED LEAS AND DIANNAS REACTION!! DIANNA WAS LIKE THE ENERGIZER BUNNY!! very happy for him tho WELL DONE CHRIS!!

  47. 47

But in real life he is not " flamboyant " he has a femine voice . He cant do much about that .

  48. 48

lea is such a drama queen

  49. 49

He really did deserve this, 100%. Kurt Hummel and Sue Sylvester make this show worth watching. So many congrats to them for being recognized for being OUTSTANDING!

  50. 50

Re: Master Baiter – So true! I did the same thing. Very happy for Chris.

  51. 51

i was shoked he won, but you could tell he appreciates it, and im happy for him.

  52. 52

I love Chris Colfer. He is my favorite singer on Glee. I'm so happy for his win, and his speech made me cry. Such a genuine and simply fabulous person.

  53. 53

Re: Harv – i think he was referring to Fatal Attraction

  54. 54

I was so happy for him, and all of his castmates seemed truly happy for him as well. He seem's like a genuinely nice guy.

  55. 55

He was not the best this show is ridiculous. Every single one of thse actors are better, he is playing himself

  56. lolli says – reply to this

u just had to pick the gay one huh? although it was my fav moment too hehe i cant lie, i teared up i thought matthew morrison was more sincere than lea but whatevs lol

  57. 57

OMG I cried my eyes out watching Chris Colfer acceptance speech. What a beautiful and awesome guy!
