The Feds Are Ready To Indict You, John Edwards

They've been ready for awhile, but their gearing up to finally pull the trigger.

After almost two years of investigation, the Feds think they finally have enough information proving John Edwards used campaign funds to hide his extramarital affair with Rielle Hunter to indict him.

Sources are reporting that this morning, additional subpoenas were issued in the case requesting e-mails, records and other material belonging to more than two dozen individuals and organizations with connection to the disgraced Senator. Among those given subpoenas were people in charge of John's nonprofit organization (he may have laundered money donated for use in the cover-up), his former campaign manager Nick Baldick, and the Alliance for a New America LLC. Federal records show that about $3.3 million of the $4.8 million raised by the 527 was distributed to AFNA LLC for unspecified "consulting services." What's that about?

On the political end of things, North Carolina's senators have reached out President Barack Obama and asked that he delay replacing George Holding, the U.S. attorney in Raleigh, as he is heading the investigation.

Everyone is stepping up their game, John. Even the Prez is getting involved. We sure hope you know what you've gotten yourself into.

Perez, you are such a bully. When are you ever going to live up to your promise not to be a bully anymore? John Edwards was the only candidate in 2008 Democratic Party primary elections to show any concern at all for the unemployed and other hard-up working class people. Why pick on him now? Because showing some care for the working class in this evil country is apparently a federal crime.

    Hey there laythisdown!
Do you have a memory problem or you just want to rewrite short-term history?
    -
Your Messiah, the one you voted for, was the OTHER candidate that cared about hope and change, and redistribution of wealth, and to make a bunch of new laws to make lots of jobs. Hillary was even treated like dirt.

p.s. If you ever heard BamBam or Moochelle give a speech, you would know they hate middle classness.

You know nothing. You're a great example of a Democrat.

Perez must be part of the group recently reported as having low reading comprehension skills. He pulls his info from an AP article which states the grand jury is getting ready to DECIDE if there is enough evidence to indict, not ready to indict. Two very different things.

The fact that it took two years to pull together enough info to get to this point is a strong indication that the end result is not a done deal. Then, indictment is not the same as conviction. The truth of the matter is that while he may have laundered money through an LLC, it's not clear if that is illegal. And while Edwards got a bunch of money from Bunny Melon to use to hide his mistress from his wife, they have to prove, in part through the testimony of a 100 year old woman, that those payments were meant to be campaign contributions–and that will be difficult to prove.

So while Edwards has been proven guilty of being the ultimate scumbag, he is still a long way from being found guilty of breaking campaign finance laws. It would be nice if we Americans remembered "innocent until proven guilty" at such times.

It is hard to imagine that in 2004, if less than 2 million people had changed their votes, this guy would be the vice president of our country.

    Karma, baby.
