Mark Harmon! Betcha didn't see that one coming!

The NCIS star has been voted America's favorite television personality, beating out Oprah who landed the #2 spot.

Innerestingly enough, Charlie Sheen made the list as well at #5!

Wow. America must REALLY, REALLY enjoy Two and a Half Men!

Back to Harmon, here's what "TVLine.com editor-at-large" Matt Mitovich had to say about the NCIS star's win:

"To trot out the classic quip, he represents who other men want to be and who women want to be with. Throughout so many of his roles, Mark has been an almost iconic representation of a salt-of-the-earth, upstanding guy."

"Times are tough in America, and Harmon — largely because of his role on 'NCIS' — perhaps symbolizes a real American hero. When he gets a close-up, you can almost see the Stars and Stripes waving behind him."

Guess it's appropriate that Harmon gets recognition, since he HAS consistently entertained audiences with NCIS since 2003.

Congratulations, Mark! Keep up the good work, bb!

IT'S ABOUT TIME AMERICA GAVE SOME RESPECT TO A CLEAN LIVING FAMILY GUY INSTEAD OF A MEGALOMANIAC OR A FUCK UP BAD BOY.

  2. 2

    Well deserved.

  3. 3

ALL THE VOTERS WERE OVER 60… GO FIGURE.

  4. 4

Wow, America go it right for a change. I am so proud of all of you for being a grown up just for a little while. Congrats. Re: xcalibur – And if that is the case idiot, the ppl over 60 have more common sense and alot more brain power than those that are under 60 where I am sure you fit in.

Re: buggadaboo – SO U MUST BE FUCKING 90 AND 3 DAYS FROM DEATH. THANK GOD.

Re: xcalibur – Their votes count too little boy.

I agree.. it IS about time. Mark is great.. an seriously a great actor.. as Jethro is a polar opposite of who Mark is in real life.. I love NCIS .. not LA.. but let's face it.. NCIS is everyone's guilty little pleasure.. well written.. fantastic story lines.. and a fabulous cast.

Makes sense, Gibbs is the best cop character there is, always surprises and Harmon does an amazing job playing him

And JAG, and The West Wing, and Chicago Hope, and Moonlighting, and St. Elsewhere, and The Love Boat, and The Hardy Boys, and Laverne & Shirley, and Adam-12 and Emergency! Seriously, the guy is a television institution. Don't just peg him in an NCIS hole…

Ya, props to him …………. but there's something wrong with the *bowl-top* haircut, dontcha think?

What is that on top of his head? I don't watch the show so I don't know if he wears a wig. If so, that's horrendous. If not a wig, what a terrible dye job.

With all that fame, can't someone do something w/his cut and color????

oooo… I ♥ Mark Harmon… he seems like a really cool guy (and I've watched him since I was a tweenager when he was in St. Elsewhere!) And the characters he plays are always personable.

I am just in awe of a person in H-weird who can stay married to the SAME person for more than 2 years! He and Pam Dawber have been married since 1987 and had both their kids AFTER they got married (imagine THAT!)

I am NOT over 60 and I would have TOTALLY voted for him!

What's with you Amerikans? You have polls and votes on everything and then argue about the results. No one ever wins, they are just replaced by the next solar flare. SUX2BU

Great choice! Former UCLA Bruin, same wife for 20+ years, two adjusted kids, balanced with a 30+ year career. He was great on St Elsewhere, Chicago Hope, and the Ted Bundy movie.

Re: jenottawa69 – Well, in JAG he played Jethro Gibbs. Re: nancycampbellslut – He plays a marine, hence the hair cut.

He plays and amazing character, and he seems like a great and down to earth man.
