Glee's Sue Sylvester Inspired By Simon Cowell

| Filed under: Simon CowellGleeJane Lynch

That's according to the woman who works the track-suit like no other, Miz Jane Lynch.

Gleeks stateside and across the pond are pretty obessed with the duo of loveable meanies. No matter how many times Simon Cowell shatters a contestant's dreams on X Factor, the world forgives him. And no matter how many times Sue Sylvester takes shots at Will Schuester's Chia Pet looking hair, we still can't help but smile.

Maybe that's because the character of Sue is somewhat based on the persona of Simon. Jane explains:

"I think Sue Sylvester has British in her. I think the US look at the British as a race that tells it how it is. And if ever there was a guy who tells it like it is, then it's Simon Cowell. You could definitely look at Sue and say there's a lot of Simon in her. He's a great inspiration for the character of Sue - there is a lot that I can take from him and put into her. Just like him, she says what she wants because she can - there is nobody there to tell either of them to stop."

That's for sure and we don't think anybody wants either one of you to ever stop!

In fact, the similarities are so strong that Gleeks have taken to Facebook in order to get Sue Sylvester as a guest judge on the X Factor. Not Jane, mind you, Sue!

But alas, that will probably never happen, as Jane explains:

"Simon and Sue on the same judging panel will never work in a million years - there's only room for one ego on the show!"

Whomp, whomp. We'd love to see that though!

Wouldn't U?

the british aren't a race - they're a collection of races - welsh, scottish, english and northern irish (and cornish)….. different languages, histories and ethnicity.
