Tom Hardy's Character In The Dark Knight Rises REVEALED!

| Filed under: Film FlickersAnne HathawayTom Hardy

Finally! We know for sure!

Along with the AMAZING news that director Christopher Nolan has cast Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle in the upcoming Dark Knight Rises, he's also revealed that Tom Hardy, whose villanous character has been the subject to speculation for month, will be playing the character of Bane!

Many may remember his appearance in the abysmal Batman & Robin, but for those of you who are lucky to be unfamiliar with that film, Bane is an escaped prisoner who becomes freakishly strong after being pumped with all kinds of insane drugs. In the comic, he is notorious for breaking Batman's spinal cord.

Holy shiz!

Nolan revealed in a statement:

“I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.”

All right!

We have a feeling that this interpretation of Bane is going to MUCH more hardcore and frightening than the last - which means it's going to be OUT OF EFFING CONTROL!

This movie cannot come fast enough!

What do U think?? Are U excited for Tom Hardy to play Bane??

I'm not getting my hopes up with this film.

Does this mean the female villan lead is going to play Poison Ivy?!?! She is one of my favorite villans.

No he looks nothing like my buddy Andrew bryniarski, he's half his size! Major Fail!

This could work, i'm glad Nolan is picking characters that would fit into this version of batman. I'm slightly fearful thinking of how twisted this character may end up in Nolan's universe :) )))

Yayyy a smart Bane, he was reduced to a dumb oaf that was Poison Ivy's henchman in Batman & Robin but in the comics he's smart.

    I'm excited !

As a MAD comic book and comic based cartoons and mavies fan, I can't help but wonder if Tom has the build to play Bane. Bane is a HUGE man. His character is based on the fact that he uses chemicals to increase the side of his muscles and then causes mass destruction. I don't think Hardy is that big so maybe they're going to use a lot of special effects or give him a body suit? I'm skeptical. I've never seen him with his shirt off but don't give me wrong, Tom Hardy is hot- but then again that's the problem. Bane is no where near hot.

How original… and they wonder why nobody goes to the movies.

Chris Nolan, it seems, has no imagination or mind of his own. What happened to his claim that he would create characters no one has seen in the movies? The Batman universe has many many characters to use, yet he just rehashes the ones that have already been done. It doesn't matter if you "remake" them in your way, it's still rehashing. What about ManBat / Killer Croc / Mad Hatter, etc etc. The only original character he did was Ra's al Ghul. I can't even count The Scarecrow since he was so terribly used and wasted. Major fail Chris. From what I've seen of this actor, he isn't much of an actor, and he doesn't come close to being Bane's size, and besides that, Bane was only in the comics for one story line, there's nothing else to do with him.
