The Bachelor Admits To Making Mistakes, Being Arrested

| Filed under: Legal MattersReality TV

At least he's owning up to them.

After it was reported that The Bachelor's Brad Womack had a few brushes with the law as a teenager, including carrying a forged driver's license, public intoxication, and passing a bad check, Womack is addressing the allegations. He says:

"I'm sure I wouldn't be the first to admit that I had a couple of missteps when I was a teenager – some 20 odd years ago. Some of the claims have been blown out of proportion but I took responsibility for my actions and took immediate measures to remedy the situation.

It was just part of my growing pains back when I was still young and naïve. You learn from your experiences good and bad – and you move on. It ultimately builds character."

At least he's admitting to his mistakes. But he still sounds a little shady to us. We wonder how the producers of The Bachelor feel about this.

What do U think?

holy shit - you act like he killed someone………..

  2. 2

public intoxication??? I love you Americans but your laws are really funny and stiff… What does that even mean? is being drunken in public a crime??? :-D

  3. 3

You think he still sounds shady? Because he had a fake ID when he was a teenager? BFD. Who didn't.

  4. 4

seriously?!? shut up P or P-writer. This was not shady. Stir drama up somewhere else.

  5. 5

PUHLEEZE. this kid grew up in the south. who didn't have a fake i.d. and get drunk and caught by the cops? what the hell else is there to do?

Re: Lightstone – no you can't be drunk in public if you're acting like a fool in America.

  7. 7

I think that he was on the damn show 3 years ago. They probably already knew this shit, as it's not a big deal. Sounds like someone is reaching really hard to start drama that isn't there.

okay seriously Mario just because you might have lived a sheltered teenage life with no social life or any mistakes whatsoever (because you seem to make it seem as if you were just such a perfect teen, always insulting teen's mistakes) doesn't mean that teenagers aren't going to act as such! It's part of growing up and learning from your mistakes… you really piss me off when you act as if stupid young mistakes are the end of the world (even though you seem to be obsessed with the end of the world as well)

Re: Lightstone – if you are disturbing the public because you are drunk, yes it is a crime and you will be arrested. it's a way of keeping the peace……….

I did stupid shit when I was a teen and have since grown up and moved on. What I did YEARS ago has nothing to do with who I am and what I do now. People do grow up.

  11. 11

seriously? This isnt shady at all….I dont think I've met anyone who didnt have a fake ID when they were a teenager, please move, this isn't even worth writing about

  12. 12

hahahahaha, overreact much, Perez? You're such a prude.

  13. 13

I'm still in shock all you guys watch the Bachelor still. This dude looks boring and dumb…

  14. 14

You are so hypocritical, Perez. Think about the early years of Robert Downey, Jr. or the druggies Depp, Ledger, etc. If you think he's still a "little shady" good luck ever finding a man, Mari. Buy a mirror (unbreakable).

  15. 15

    Missteps…growing pains…give me a fuckin break.

  16. 16

Sorry there are people in the senate and in Corporate Empires doing far worse than having fake ids, writing a cheque you had no money to cover and being drunk in public… This is lame and trying to make this guy sound bad for these pitifully small mishaps in his use is truly low…

  17. 17

if that's all he did as a teenager i would call that a pretty damn good kid.

Re: Muffin Ass – Ha! Love your comment, Muffin! And as someone else mentioned, big deal. I thought it was going to be something like he robbed a bank, or raped someone.

  19. 19

he's almost 40. who cares about minor offenses he committed as a teenager. this story is a joke.

  20. 20

Who cares what this guy did as a teenager, he is a total sociopath anyway.

  21. 21

Oh brother..when I was a teenager, being publicly intoxicated and having fake id was called "Friday night". How stupid to report on such things.

Don't sweat it Brad..you're hot, you're apparently in love..so enjoy, and don't let the small people ruin your good time!

Besides, ABC is happy with ANY press for The Bachelor, you're only doing them a favor, Perez. A little crush on the hot Bachelor, perhaps? :)
