Even though Keith Olbermann's abrupt exit from MSNBC was a surprise to most, it seems that Keith knew that the ship was about to go down.
Sources say that just before he went on air Friday night to host his final show, his agent made a secret deal with NBC.
When Keith's agent complained that he was underpaid $7 million per year, NBC execs refused to give in, knowing that an exit was near.
The execs reportedly began making exit negotiations when they realized that Comcast wanted Keith gone because he was "a loose cannon that could not be controlled."
The bottom line is that Keith did receive an undisclosed amount in the negotiations, but cannot appear on television for an unknown period of time.
Sources do say, however, that he does plan on doing an Internet project.
It still seems that MSNBC made a huge mistake with letting their #1 host go, but at least Keith got something out of the deal.
Let's hope it's not too long before we see him on TV again.
