Finally! We've been waiting for news on this! Let's hope Summit give this project all the attention it deserves.

The company behind the Twilight Saga has reached an agreement to produce The Perks of Being a Wallflower, an adaptation of the controversial Stephen Chbosky novel. There hasn't been an official announcement yet from Summit Entertainment, but with an amazing director (Chbosky himself will be taking the helm) and Emma Watson and Logan Lerman signed on as the leads, they'd be crazy not to make the deal.

If our sources are correct and everything is set, look for the flick to go into production by June.

We're so excited to see Emma play Sam. It's an amazing character, so nurturing and lovely. She's going to be fantastic, for sure!

I really think Logan Lerman should do the Mortal Instruments instead. Playing Simon! They have so much in common.

-Logan and Simon are both Jewish
    -They're both in a band
-Logan looks like him, and he can play cute in a nerdy way.

    Just saying…

Been a Logan Lerman fan for 12 years. This is my all time favorite book and I am so happy it is all finally started to come together. I love Emma and Logan and this movie is going to be so amazing. I can't wait.

So I read that book about 7 years ago, and I literally cannot remember a thing, but I'm just really excited to see Emma play a different role. Also, won't this require an accent for her?

Re: flerfal – i disagree, he deserves to play parts as the lead, not just a background character

hmm…i don't know how i feel about this book being turned into a movie.

GREAT CAST! Mark Ruffalo should totally be Bill the teacher. And I think that if Jason Segal was young enough to play a teenager, he'd be perfect for Patrick. And possibly Chord Overstreet for Brad? Emma Roberts and Dianne Agron should be thought of for Mary-Elizabeth and Charlie's sister, too. That is my dream cast. Favorite book ever. I cannot wait!

Like Perez is writing all of this. Who is ghost writing for him these days?

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a cult classic and one of my favorite books of all time. It is passionate, real, and raw. The fact that it will become modernized, glitzed and glammed, and stuck out for all of Hollywood to see and scrutinized will ruin everything the book was about in the first place. Ugh.

I hate that this book is being turned into a movie. Some books should be left as books, and I think this is one of them. I read this book when I was in 7th grade, and still love it. It will really cheapen the affect this book has if they put it into movie form I think. The book is like getting into Charlie's mind and poking around a bit, I don't know how they will get out all the tiny details that seem so unimportant until the end of the book into a movie without it being awkward. It seems like all the important things about the book and the things that make the book seem so personal and real would be hard to put into a movie. I won't watch this movie, despite how much I love the book.
