Sad! People Of Color Shut Out Of All Major Oscar Nominations!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooFilm FlickersAwardz

academy-awards-snub-people-of-color

This is very unfortunate and disappointing.

Despite some very talented individuals receiving well-deserved nominations this year for Academy Awards, ZERO people of color were recognized in any of the major categories - including acting, writing, and directing!

Such a shame!

We sincerely hope that filmmakers keep this in mind during upcoming projects this year, because this should have never happened, and there will be no excuse if it happens again next year.

How the FUCK can ethnic people do Oscar worthy movies when they are never given the opportunity? 75% of roles are for CAUCASIANS ONLY . Any roles for ethnic people are ALWAYS stereotypical. ASIANS - KUNG FU , BLACK OR HISPANIC - GHETTO/POOR / NATIVE AMERICANS - TRIBAL SHIT/ or NONE, CAUCASIANS - MAIN ROLES/RICH / ROYALTY. You cant name a ethnic person deserving of a Oscar because there aren't any damn roles for them. If it were the other way around Caucasians would be having a fucking riot. Unless your ethnic you will NEVER know how it feels to not be able to audition for LARGE amount of movies because of your skin color.

I agree with EVERYTHING Perez said.

  3. 103

Maybe next year you'll cry foul because not one Brit was nominated. Or perhaps not one American. C'mon, this spin where none is necessary.

  4. 104

I agree with the majority here. You have to vote based on talent. There are plenty "people of color" in the acadamy who would probably agree.

  5. 105

    Academy

  6. 106

Since when does your race qualify you for an award? Maybe they weren't recognized because there was nothing to recognize. Stop making race such an issue, and it won't be one.

  7. 107

Such a stupid observation. I don't recall seeing any outstanding work by a black performer last year.
Furthermore, except for Hattie McDaniel and Forrest Whittaker all the black actors who have won were not deserving. Training Day and Monsters Ball, huh give me a break.

  8. 108

Javier Bardem got nominated. He's not white. Or does he not count?

  9. 109

Re: NikkiCool – Name me two movies this year that had a ethnic actor that deserved an oscar. You can't. It's not anyones fault that there arent any black actors, writers, or directors nominated because the Academy does not have an ulterior motive. Precious won BIG last year, it was a great movie. It deserved every nomination and award it got. Thats what makes the Oscar such a huge accomplishment. Because its is so hard to get and you are running against some of the best actors of the time. How anyone can say this is racist is INFURIATING. It makes me sick. This is reverse discrimination. White is a color too, and I havent heard a single person of "color" complaining about their alleged "snub" due to their skin color

  10. 110

    Re: hoochpit – agreed

  11. 111

THERE ARE NO ROLES FOR ASIAN, NATIVE AMERICAN or HISPANIC PEOPLE so how can they get nominated? It's not that they aren't good enough its just they aren't given the opportunity. The only rolls i see for ASIANS is KUNG FU roles. In Hollywood race justifies talent.

  12. 112

i don't recall see an movies this year with black actors this past year

  13. 113

I guess Javier Bardem isn't considered a "person of color." Go Spanish people.

Don't blame the Academy. Blame the assholes that think Medea's Vag-Bling Part 17 is "good film making." When studios stop fucking around with cultural stereotypes and milking that shit for all its worth, then I'll take these kinds of complaints seriously.

  14. 114

Stop making it about Racism. It simply did not happen this year. Maybe next year It will be all colored people nominees and no caucasians. Will it be racist then?
    It's 2011
    Over it

  15. 115

I believe Hailee Steinfeld's mother is of Filipino, African-American and European-American descent

  16. 116

This is why I stopped reading your stupid website. 'People of Color Shut Out of All Major Oscar Nominations!' Dude shut up. You are 'against racism' - at least you say you are- and then you go and say this? Your saying colored people need to get nominated because they are colored. Wow. You're ridiculous and need to get over yourself. Stop being an asshole and making everything out to be racist. And BTW white is a color too.

  17. 117

There weren't any fatties nominated either.

  18. 118

you are ridiculous. Not everyone is racists! maybe no one of colour was nominated because they didnt deserve to nominated…geeze, get some sense into your brain!

  19. 119

The Oscars are a fucking jock controled by the mothefucker media . Burlesque was one of the best movies of 2010 and the music there was amazing and revived 0 nominations I don't give a fuck about the Oscar bieng rices but they need to put there shit together ;( cuzz the nominations suck hard this year. And by the way xtina was amazing in burlesque . And soo was Cher .

  20. katyb says – reply to this

    120

maybe if they did the work that the people who were nominated did this year, they WOULD get a nomination. Just cause the nominees are white doesn't mean they deserve it any less. Deal with it

  21. 121

"People of color" are not the only way to be diverse. The best actor nominations are diverse in their own way: a Spaniard, an Englishman, two very young actors, and a seasoned professional.
Just because there are no black nominations, doesn't mean the Academy Awards are racist. Last year there were several blacks nominated and years before that too, but you don't point that out.
This is about talent, not trying to make every race feel good about themselves.

  22. 122

I'm still sour about the fact that Leo Dicaprio didn't get a nod this year. Can a brotha get his props already? Geez!

Re: hoochpit – I think you are very ignorant. maybe people of color were never given the opportunity to even be on anything of any significance. in hollywood either you are a jew or white or you can pretty much forget about it.

I am of a jewish father and mexican mother and I know latins especially mexicans are the fast growing race in this country yet they seldom get any screen time and the ones that do change their names or deny their heritage, like linda carter who was part mexican and raquel welch, it is very unfortunate but to fit in to hollywood a lot of people have to deny where they come from. vanessa marcil is another example of this and many many more. very sad. jlo who is puerto rican almost always played unbelieveable white women like in the movie wedding planner and enough.

I religiously watch the oscars, its the only award show I watch, but I will not be watching this year. I am sick of hollywood ignoring my other half and the reality that this nation is made up of more than just white and more than just jewish.

  24. 124

Whites are people of color too.

  25. 125

it has nothing to with racism dumbass let's make it a fucking civil case god damn people are fucking retarted but if white people weren't nominated nobody would say shit stfu perez

  26. 126

Okay, first off, pretty sure is was a coincidence. Every color person has been discriminated against at one time. I know I have, as a matter of fact my best friend growing up, was black and lived in a neighborhood off most to all black people. Me being a blonde, WHITE little girl, her mom never let us walk down to the store or basically leave her yard because all the black girls would play a game called "knock out" meaning knock out any white girl they saw. I didnt cry, I didjtn say poor me, i didnt point my finger, I didnt think I DESERVED anything for it, it just was the way that it was and my life went on. oh well, cant change people but you can stop babbling and go on with your life. But its always only bad when its the "white man". But any other race can make all the racist comments that they want with out an eyebrow even being raised over it. SO easy for you all to just say "they racist, i didnt get this or that because Im this certain color, or sex, or prefer to date this type of person" Ever stop and think maybe because you are not better than the next person, you didnt put in as much effort or that you just suck?

  27. 127

    Re: riverphoenixfan
There was nothing memorable from 'people of color' this year worthy of nomination. But lets get this right, people of color goes beyond "negro" you bonehead. This always ends up as solely a black people issue somehow. No other people of other races were nominated, but the [oint is that it just wasnt deserved.

  28. 128

This is the dumbest thing I have ever read. Are you serious Perez? Wow…
There must have not been any "people of color" that qualified. This has NOTHING to do with skin color. You are just trying to cause drama… I am done with your ridiculous website.

  29. 129

This is pathethic but I'm glad to see the majority of the people here don't agree with this. Maybe there is hope after all. Truth-Teller I believe a very pretty woman of color had a main role in Avatar named Zoe Saldana.. there are plenty more examples of other races playing great roles in movies, and shows and that aren't sterotypical..sorry you fail.

  30. 130

THAT'S WHAT THE NAACP AWARDS ARE FOR.. GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!

  31. YUCK says – reply to this

    131

Re: Johnny882 – maybe the point is that people of color are rarely if ever offered the opportunity to be a part of hollywood and when they are its solely as background, its the same at some companies, when its all white people at a company no one ever says "gosh there are only white people here" but if its predominantly black people, you will often here "gosh a lot of black people work here."

  32. 132

Re: riverphoenixfan – umm excuse me? Negro? Don't you think that's a little racist?

  33. 133

If they weren't nominated because they didn't do a "good enough" job, it's because there still aren't good enough roles for actors of colors. I'm a white person who has done acting for years, and the roles for black people just aren't there.

  34. 134

If they had not done it in the past, MAYBE it would be worth bitching about.. but being a hispanic myself, I think you're over reacting here.

  35. 135

either they over do it or under do. either way what happened to judging acting roles based on talent and not color?

  36. 136

Oscars is a dog and pony show, it may matter loads to the actors but to the everyday schmoe its just amusement for a friday night.

I mean, they didn't even nominate Inception!

  37. 137

Who knew there was an oscar nomination quota for "people of color" ? Just ridiculous. If they were deserving, they would have gotten the nod. Better luck next year. Who sits there and roots just for blacks to be nominated?? You hope the best people get nominated and that's what happens. If there doesn't happen to be any blacks, or gays, or whites, or asians….OH WELL….it wasn't their year. Everything doesn't have to be a friggin' conspiracy.

  38. 138

Let's just make Perez happy and make new awards just for ethnics. That's not too patronizing, is it ? Best black director. Best hispanic supporting actress. Jesus Christ.

  39. 139

People of color?? Yep, those cartoons did deserve some Oscars….

  40. 140

Like others have said, before you go pointing fingers for no other reason than to stir up shit, show us the movies featuring people of non-white ethnicity in which there were award-worthy performances. You can't find 'em this year. Halle Berry has been M.I.A., Denzel Washington did strictly action movies this year, The Last Airbender (full of non-white cast members and crew) sucked ass, Tyler Perry's movies are sort of critic-proof and their own brand and aren't much better than Lifetime Originals in terms of content…Death At a Funeral's best performance was from Chris Rock…I mean, what do you want them to do? Nominate Danny Trejo for Machete just to fill a quota?
The simply fact is no non-white centric films and no ethnic performances were featured in the past year. However, ethnic people still got plenty of work in films.
Even white-centric Oscar bait busts sometimes. Brothers, All the King's Men…it happens. Get over it, Perez.

  41. 141

i agree with a lot of the other posts. movies and acting skills shouldn't be judge based on someone's colour, if no one of colour got nominated maybe it's because no one preformed to caliber of this years nominees.

  42. 142

chill out perez.. maybe 'people of color' didn't deserve to be nominated this year.

  43. 143

Oscar noms have nothing to do with affirmative action.

  44. 144

I think the point isn't so much that ppl of color should be nominated simply due to "color" it's the realization that all these "amazing films" have no place for anyone of color to be showcased. I loved Black Swan (no pun intended lol), The Town was a great film, The Fighter, etc etc…the reality is an actress who is a minority, 97% of the breakdowns for roles in films are NOT for us and it says so CLEARLY IN BLACK INK. (again no pun intended). It's hard to be recognized for great work, when you can't be a part of any. when Tyler Perry is the only person hiring, you aren't going to get much "critical acclaim" from working on his shiteous projects.

If you arent an actor who is living in LA, who knows what it is to go up against a machine like hollywood that demands CAUCASIAN only for majority of their films, you really cannot comment from a place of understanding nor intelligence. Until Hollywood accepts the fact that America is a melting pot of ppl, we are going to continue to see this happen over and over again.

Hell Avatar had a lead black actress but low and behold she was portrayed BLUE lol. That's more acceptable to most white ppl in this country than brown. A blue talking space person.

  45. 145

People of color have an awards show JUST FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR!!

  46. 146

    QUOTAS ARE RACIST

  47. 147

People who are not of color have no idea what they are talking about. But im not upset but you just dont notice because you are not a person of color. Its just like white people not noticing racial profiling because they are not the ones being racially profiled. I mean the post was kind of pointless when alot of people of color got nominated last year. Maybe Perez you should better explain yourself when put up post that are as contraveral as this one.

  48. 148

So you think they should be nominated just because they are people of colour? Giving someone special treatment for being of colour is just as bad as denying someone special treatment for the same reason. The nominees were recognized because they were the best this year, leave it at that.

  49. 149

How can you be so prejudiced? It is a talent contest not a race contest. If no Asian person won, that is because there were no Asian projects in the top this year. Color differentiation is just shallow. It should be about talent, not color. Why are there no Aboriginals nominated this year? Just because their projects were not in the top. That is it. And anyway, there is BET and Latin Grammy awards. But I don't see any White Entertainment Television (WET) or White Grammy Awards.

  50. 150

Re: gabegetsyouhigh – you mean affirmative action genius? but i agree.

  51. 151

Maybe "people of Color" didnt make any good movies this year? The racist bullshit is so 80's. Make good films and "people of Color" will get nominated

  52. 152

i agree with perez. you should be rewarded for what you do, you should be rewarded for your color. forget merit,,its all about social justice. its the social justice awards dont you know. welcome to communism..its coming. equal results instead of equal opportunity. we can now conclude without question that that the academy is a bunch of racists…..

  53. 153

FUCK OFF WITH THIS POST! I DIDN'T KNOW A PERSON OF COLOUR WAS A CATEGORY! FUCK OFF FATTY!!!

  54. 154

This is such a naive and insulting thing to say. I'm not sure if Perez even realizes just how racists this post sounds. To demand that filmmakers include certain people in their projects for the sake of skin color is the most ignorant, racist, and condescending thing I've ever heard. This makes me sick.

  55. 155

Should someone of color just be nominated that doesn't really deserve it just to shut people like you up?

  56. 156

I can hear the conversation now.

acadamy guy 1 : Oh crap. Did we forgot the token Negro?
acadamy guy 2 : Quick find me a negro.
acadamy guy 3 : Oh My God guys, did we forget the Chink, the Gook, wetback, too?
academy guy#4 : Did we forget the queer?

God. Does everything have to be a conspiract?

  57. 157

I hate this post so much! You don't nominate someone because they are black, white, latino or asain. You get nominated because you were in a great film and did an amazing job in it. Everyone who was nominated deserved it and it is complete BS to complain because they are white. FYI, isn't Javier nominated? I believe he is. I know he is from Spain and can be considered white… but it was in a foreign film for Spain/Mexico. I'm all for diversity, but no one should just be nominated for the color of their skin.

  58. 158

i agree with everyone in this thread…

NAME AN ACTOR OF COLOUR IN A FILM ROLE THAT IS MORE DESERVING THAN THOSE ACTORS WHO ARE NOMINATED FOR "BEST ACTOR"?

    Oh, that's right, you CAN'T!

When you have a black president don't you dare go around calling all the white people racist, you are fucking white you tool, and guess what… white people are some of the least racist out there! compared to all the BET bullshit going on in the world, I say we are pretty fucking fair.

and did you ever think, that because hollywood is based in north america, it makes sense that a lot of current actors are "white" — in Bollywood, the actors are of colour, and then there aren't fucking white people in their awards shows! (and no, I'm not saying they're racist, it's because of the fucking DEMOGRAPHICS)

I AM SO HAPPY PEOPLE WHO READ THIS SITE ARE SMARTER THAN PEREZ.

  59. 159

    Re: TRUTH-TELLER – Right On!!!!

  60. 160

Re: TRUTH-TELLER – YOU F*CKING IDIOT, look at the demographics of Canada/the United States… no shit hollywood is mostly of a lighter skin tone.

What do you expect when most of the people applying for roles are white? Obviously white people have a higher chance of being selected, and it is because of probability. Go to any other country and you will see their actors/actresses are NOT white.

  61. 161

It's nothing to do with color. It's to do with talent. There are so many talented people of color out there but maybe they just didn't deserve an Oscar this year. it has nothing to do with racism. Saying that they should HAVE to have someone of color nominated every year is racism.

  62. 162

duh, maybe there were no performances good enough. Who's stupid shit racists idea was this story anyway?

  63. 163

I think your racism is showing Perez. Even looking into at a race things makes yourself look racist. There are much bigger discrimination problems in the world, you don't need to make any up. Stop throwing shit around, it's bound to come back at you eventually.

  64. 164

Well people of "color" really isn't given a chance in big Hollywood productions, so I guess maybe there wasn't anyone to nominate. I won't be watching the Oscar's that shit is boring anyways, Eff'em.

  65. 165

Re: Joey613 – it was a J.O.K.E!!! LOL! Sorry if I offended you. Its a award show that i dont even watch because its boring so i could care less about about who gets nominated or not.

  66. 166

Oh come on. This is why people have problems with liberals and sometimes gays. People like yourself think EVERYTHING is cause for argument and is some kind of social injustice. I'm a gay liberal so I'm not coming at this from some hardcore Republican standpoint, but other than Halle Berry I cannot recall hearing or seeing ANYTHING about any black professionals in the film business doing something Oscar worthy. It's not the Academy's fault none did anything worthy of an Oscar nomination this year, and the way you are putting it makes it seem like they should have just nominated one for the hell of it since there were none that deserved to be nominated. Granted I don't know the specifics of people in every single category, but I'm sure it wasn't the Academy being racist.

  67. 167

Jeeeeez and all this time I thought you were nominated for merit, not colour. Stop trying to start a race war. If all the nominees were people of colour and no whites, it would be the same thing. You don't nominate a token person.

  68. 168

No colored person did anything to deserve one. Its not just because they're black its becuase they all sucked. Stop being so damn sensitive. Everything lately is either homophobic or racist to you.

  69. 169

    what a ridiculous post.

  70. 170

It's a shame that so many comments on here are ignoring the fact that people of color are not even given fair chances in Hollywood. Let's be honest, it's not really about "talent." Hollywood is obsessed with outer appearance. Start paying attention to the entertainment industry and notice how underrepresented people of color truly are. It is ignorant to say that no person of color was "good enough" to be nominated. The true issue is that they are underrepresented, and that is truly sad.

  71. 171

    DEMOGRAPHICS
    DEMOGRAPHICS
    DEMOGRAPHICS
    DEMOGRAPHICS
    DEMOGRAPHICS
74.8% of people in the USA are WHITE (if you include white hispanics and latino americans)
65% of people in the USA are WHITE (if you do not include the above)

SO NO WONDER THE MAJORITY OF ROLES/NOMINATIONS/ETC. ARE FOR WHITE PEOPLE. IT IS NORMAL BASED ON OUR DEMOGRAPHICS. LOOK AT OTHER COUNTRIES, YOU WON'T SEE WHITE ACTORS THERE!

  72. 172

    Truth teller,

Javier was nominated and he's hispanic.

  73. 173

dumb story if it is supposed to be color blind and the best person, deal with it…

  74. 174

Re: TRUTH-TELLER – I 100% agree with you. In order to be nominated for something, you actually have to be given a chance. I love how so many comments say that they can't think of films with people of color that were worthy of an Oscar nomination. Well that's the problem!!! There are so few movies with people of color actually in them!!!!

  75. 175

Re: TRUTH-TELLER – i would love to see your sources. and no, your ass does not count.

  76. 176

Do the Oscars reflect the lack of roles that have been afforded to people of color both in front of or behind the camera? I suspect that awards are merely reflecting the lack people of color on what could be scene as award worthy. Certainly a shame we aren't seeing a more diverse group of nominees, but is that a reflection of the reality out there more than an act of racism in and of itself? I hear you saying there are people of color who should have been nominated; who are they then?

  77. 177

Re: OSUchick23 – Do you think Obama was less qualified to be president? Why did bring up Obama he's not an actor? What people fail to realize is that alot of people enjoyed For Colored Girls and thought it was Oscar worthy.People are just disappointed. And there is a clear difference between someone feeling a great performance should be awarded and someone asking for a horrible performance to be awarded the same.Come on no one wants special treatment that's ignorant. Some white people can be so funny when someone say's the word discrimination. In there eye's it does not exist and feel anyone who claims it does is being too sensitive or playing the race card. It's ignorant and pathetic. I guess when you've never endured something and you only socialize with people that are like yourself it's not your reality so there for it does not exist and never happened. This years Oscar nods snubbed alot of people I didn't think it was racist. But the Obama, affirmative action, negro, colored statements are. Some white people really need to get over there false sense of entitlement and arrogance.

  78. 178

perez, you sound like kayne west now not everythings racist they werent nominated bc they didnt do the best simple as that

  79. 179

Re: Shantel Tamarah HerronRe: OSUchick23 – Do you think Obama was less qualified to be president? 80. 180

Re: NookiesWA – Blacks and Gays are retarded.Don't speak for all white people just because your a dumb white bitch.Everyone knows in the areas of film The Golden Globes,Oscars, and Sag Awards are some of the most prestigious awards that one can receive. And every race complains when they feel slated.Yes even prescious white people

  81. 181

Looks like he struck a nerve. Besides that, you're an IDIOT. Demographics has nothing to do with actors or actress of color finding roles. How about being told that they aren't black enough, or that they're too black? As far as I know, black is black. BTW the comments that I've mentioned were direct quotes from several black actors.

  82. 182

Man, you guys think you're so smart… There may not have been any Oscar-worthy performances from any people of color this year, and if this is true then of course it would not be racist to exclude them from the nominations. That's just basic logic. None of you are intelligent for coming up with this conclusion. You are, though, quite ignorant for refusing to explore this issue any deeper. Perhaps if more people of color were cast in premium roles, then there would be more Oscar nominations for them. There certainly is not a shortage of talented actors/actresses of color, but there does exist a consensus in Hollywood that major roles in major projects are reserved for those lighter in complexion.
Yeah, things are getting better but racism still exists.
***By the way "colored people" is no longer an acceptable, and not because it's all politically correct, but because it's OFFENSIVE.

  83. 183

i agree with all the other comments. there weren't any movies that had an outstanding performance from a person of color. but also, when you think about it there aren't that many movies with people of color as main characters. i think the movie industry need to make more movies where it centers around a black couple, for example, instead of a white one. all romantic movies are played by white couples and that needs to change. besides, it's boring.

  84. 184

Isn't this in itself racist? Do you have a problem with white people being good at something and getting awards?

  85. 185

Something doesn't seem right here. OK, maybe there weren't any memorable performances by minorities this year but, why is that? It's not because there aren't capable actors available. Must be that they weren't cast. Why not? Seems to me there weren't any movies produced this year that allowed for minorities to be cast in memorable roles. Why is that? I gotta side with Perez on this. Something is fishy here.

  86. 186

    Re: wwefan01
Javier Berdem is not Hispanic/Latin..He is Spanish/Spaniard/European/White/ Not a person of color ;D

As for the whole topic, I'm not one to complain about such things cos many people of color (Asian, Latinos, Blacks, Native Americas etc) usually don't have great roles in Hollywood. But as for this year i really thought that some of the women from 'For Colored Girls' would have been nominated, they were fantastic. But oh well =/

I thought we lived in a place where we don't see colour, so I don't understand this. So next time we should nominated a black person just on the basis of their skin and not talent. If that was the basis I wouldn't accept the nomination

  88. 188

I can't believe you're talking about a racial snub when %*%^& Chris Nolan is the one that really got snubbed.

  89. 189

Re: hoochpit – I know you're gonna disagree with me but Tyler Perry deserves an oscar.

  90. 190

Mario, What exactly does people of color mean? If you are intending to say Colored people then that in itself is a politally incorect term and is no longer used. So does it bother you that there is an entertainment channel devoted to only Black entertainers. Would that not be considered racist. There are a plethera of African american only and Asian only organizations to name a few and these are never addressed as being racist. But if there were to be a White Entertainment Network or White Lawyers Assoiciation, Federation of White housing etc… there would be a freaking riot in the streets by the same people who are always crying RACIST! Ibet you would be at the front of the line for your photo op too Mario!

  91. 191

How on Earth does the colour of your skin determine if you have talent and deserve an oscar? That is ridiculous. You do not just give someone a nomination based on the colour of their skin.

  92. 192

Everyone knows there are many great black actors–but not this year. it really helps if you are gay or playing gay–Annette Benning–

  93. 193

Only an utter racist would even think to look to see if this happened

  94. 194

Perez said this bullshit to get a reaction. And it worked… you're an idiot perez

  95. 195

I get what perez is saying out of all the movies only one person of a minority gets nominated which is Javier Bardem which is quite unusual to have one person of a minority race out of every single category get nominated that means something must be up

  96. 196

You fucking asshat!! So now you want affirmative action for fucking awards shows?? Here;s a clue: arrirmative action for college admissions has been a complete FAILURE–the blacks and other minorities who got admitted into schools solely b/c of the color of their skin–who didn't have the test scores or qualifications to get in the normal way OVERWHELMINGLY FAILED!!! The vast majority failed to graduate, and therefore robbed white, DESERVING students from their rightful spots at those universities!!

Similarly, requiring awards shows to nominate 'people of color' solely b/c of that 'color', when they don't deserve a nomination based on their performance, would be unfair and would just dilute the quality of the awards!

Quit being such a pathetic, melodramatic loser and playing the gay and race discrimination care when there IS no discrimination!! YOU SERIOUSLY OWE THE RIGHTFUL NOMINEES–AND EVERYONE WHO READ THIS BULLSHIT POST A MAJOR APOLOGY!!!

  97. 197

How is Spaniard Javier Bardem not a person of color?

  98. 198

    Re: TRUTH-TELLER
'Truth'-teller, my ass! People like you are the problem–you act like everything wrong with your life is because of some big 'anti-black conspiracy'–when, in reality, such a thing doesn't even exist and your failures are nobody's fault but your own!! Where did you get this ridiculous sense of ENTITLEMENT??

If you're unhappy with your life, get off your ass and CHANGE it like the rest of us do–regardless of color!

Black, red, yellow, green, or white people do NOT deserve movie roles simply because of their color. Instead of bitching and moaning about how 'blacks don't get good movie roles because whites don't want them to', which is totally false and a total LIE, fucking become a writer/ producer and MAKE THE ROLES!! Whining and playing the race card on here doesn't do a bit of good, other than apparently making you feel better by blaming all your failures on whites.

Seriously, if you believe there is some injustice, which I don't believe for a second there is but whatever–FIX IT!! Become part of the solution other than blaming whites and wasting all of our time by continuing to spout ridiculous BS and complaining on this board. Nobody owes you anything–create your own happiness and success like the rest of us do!!

  99. 199

maybe they just wernt good enough actors, rather than perpetuate white shame, quilt and hate how bout you accept that not every race wins everything equally.

  100. 200

YAwnn this is bull. What we must have quotas come awards time now? Ridiculous. This will keep Oprah up nights
