Mexican Singer Kalimba Released, Rape Case Dismissed

kalimba-released-no-rape-charges.jpg

We sincerely hope that this was the right call. An innocent man deserves the right to walk free, but we'd hate to think he committed such a heinous crime and didn't pay for it.

Mexican singer Kalimba was released today after a judge ruled there wasn't enough evidence of convicting him of rape. Last week, Kalimba was deported back to Mexico to face the charge of raping a 17-year-old girl in a hotel back in December. He maintained his innocence, but refused to divulge if he had had any kind of sexual relationship with this girl.

That sounds a little suspicious to us, but if the evidence wasn't there to convict him, we guess there isn't much that can be done.

Geez. We wonder how many rapists haven't answered for their crime for just that reason? Shame.

You shouldn't be making any further snide innuendos about this man, P. If the girl lied and he is innocent, he deserves to go free and live free from slander. He's a celebrity, think it might be possible he was targeted because he has money?

Just cuz the CUBAN William Levy is still under investigation for the minor and giving her herpes u have shit to talk fatso? im putting the word out, shes getting tired again, WILL I am please pop her again…lmao as if this swines "thoughts" are better than an educated judge

first off all, the girl ir a party animal. she had an abortion, had late nights every day, and a violent BF. she went to the authorities 7 days after the "rape" and her friend (the one that was with her at the club) said everything was a lie. one day after the deportation, the lawyer representing the girl quitted, because "she was, before everything, a human being and she has to defend the truth". personally, i think this "girl", with adult behaviour, was trying to get some money.

With all due respect to the esteemed Mexican justice system, I wonder how much this cost Kalimba to walk free. Let's just say that the judge won't have to worry about making his hacienda payments for quite some time.

I don't know what the legal consensual age is in Mexico as far as statutory rape, but you have got to get to the police, and you have got to get examined right away in order to get evidence. There are specific tears and bruises associated with fighting off a rapist. And like it or not, a lot of women lie about being "raped" by a celebrity. There is a lot of money in it.

Perez i really liked you, but your ignorant snappy comments are nothing but proving your haters' case, that you just blab with no base or reasoning. Let me tell you- this girl who accused Kalimba of raping her not only lied but also changed her story so many times is crazy. Like 1st saying that after the rape she waited for him at the lobby and then dropped him off @ the airport the next morn'. Who does that, really? Run beatch run, right?. Plus Kalimba didn't pay a dime it's the other way around for the accuser is related to the mexican authorities in that town hence the reason why his notifying the U.S authorities of his current standing with Mex auth was advertised all around the world as him being deported folr rape, when it wasn't so. He decided to travel via airplane through u.s airport to solve this whole mess. He realized his visa was expired and this is the reason he was deported. This guy was composed and faithful througholut the whole process because he knew that his prayers would eventually reveal the truth.

hello perez i hope you can read my comment im gonna write it in spanish because i know that you undestand it and its a lot what i want to say about this:

there is no real law in mexico, if he is guilty he probably paid off some judge or some other ppl to be "made" innocent. After all. he is a so called celeb that has some connections.

On another note, just because the girl was supposedly "loose" does not mean she is asking to be raped.

Re: Christina Polo – nVery true for the most part..but not every rape victim fights their rapist, because as research has proven the offender is more likely to further injure or kill the victim the more the victim fights

Re: killer bunny – You should read more about this case before write some stupid stuff, a person who is innocent do not have to pay some money, famous or not, to get out of jail, evidence and God was all Kalimba had to prove him innocent, so stop the nonsense pls!

Re: gnarly8 – With all due respect you have no proof that he paid anyone off to be free so you shouldn't make those accusations. Just think if it was you I don't think you would like it very much. Second he does not make a lot of money he is not rich why else would he hire a second tier lawyer instead of the best money has to offer. Also look at the evidence boy is not strong she could fight him off yet there are no marks on him plus other evidence. He comes off as innocent to me and a good guy according to many ppl.

  15. 15

I'm sure you don't mean wrong by insinuating that kalimba is indeed a rapist, but you should AT LEAST get your facts straight. there is no proof that he did have sex with this girl, let alone rape her, and it is more than likely that this was all a plot to get money from the guy. the girl was pretty much a stripper at a club, who had an abusive boyfriend and had already had an abortion at the age of fourteen.

Re: killer bunny – And that's different from the US or any other country how exactly???? Celebs get away with everything if you haven't noticed. Or have you forgotten about Paris, Lilo, Bruno Mars, etc etc
    Moron.

  17. 17

at least he got out fast. my friend spent 4 months in jail for bullshit charges like that. and the girl has pulled that shit before!

  18. 18

jimmy 17 i have read about the story and i also happen to live in mexico city, so i know how things work in mexico. It plain corruption and easily paying off judges, that is what goes on daily in mexico. If rapists, pedophiles, drug lords etc etc can pay off ppl to be let off, why not someone like kalimba.

  19. 19

Re: gnarly8 – Just because he's free now it doesn't meant he paid the judge.. What kind of IDIOT are you… not all people is corrupt before you make your STUPID comments get facts….
