Obama's State Of The Union Speech Loses Viewers

| Filed under: TV NewsPolitikBarack Obama

Less people were interested in what President Obama had to say this year.

About 43 million people watched his State of the Union address Tuesday night, which was down in viewership from the previous year. In fact, about 11% less people watched the speech.

The speech was shown on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Telemundo, Univision, CNN, Centric, CNBC, Fox News Channel and MSNBC.

Meanwhile, one of the few channels that did not air the State of the Union, The CW, had its most-watched Tuesday of the season with 2 million viewers.

Guess people just couldn't miss out on Hellcats!

Did U watch the State of the Union address??

Like a lot of people I know here in the city, I don't own a TV - I watch everything online. I watched this online too.

Why watch it on TV when you can go to any news website and watch it online? Regardless, I sure as hell didn't watch this clown spread his lies.

It's very simple. If you want a USA run by the people vote Democratic. If you want a country run by the corporations (Walmart etc.) vote for the Republicans. It really is this simple folks.

  17. 17

lol like mccain and palin wouldnt be spreading their lies too.

noone can make america better its gonna take another 20 years

  18. 18

Probably because people are sick of listening to the same old CRAP. Its all bullshit, and empty promises. I'm over Obama… NEXT.

  19. 19

    Nope, watched Hellcats!!! HAHA!

  20. 20

I have always followed politics and I used to go to Washington and lobby, but I didn't watch. I am sick of listening to it. I also don't see why in this day and age it needs to be on so many channels. It is overkill.

  21. 21

Too busy watching Joan rivers and Melissa new show, I dont need more fake promises and more BS.

  22. 22

I only watched for 20 mins… I like the part when Obama is not willing to give any break to the Oil Co. People so the Republican guy ( the one who cries about the American dream) stay in his seat and his face tour like ice, I was laughing so hard … You figure !

BamBam still gets 99% positive rating from Hollwoodland and Blacks.
These are the dummies that want our Healthcare, run by the people, that run the post office.
    Thanks guys.
You set the bar so low for us, while the elite fly to Davos.
    You Obama defenders.
Are you flying to Davos or will you be part of the communal misery, now here in the U.S, like Cuba and Venezuela?
    Such self-hating, racist Obamabots!
These people are not walking, but running to the gas chambers.
"No, No, we're going to have soap and hot showers. Relax."

    Initial jobless claims jump 51,000.
    We are not distracted, Barry.

  28. 28

Is me watching it really gonna make a difference? ummmm…..NO.

  29. 29

What a waste of time … no matter who is president. It's all pomp and ends up being very boring. Like watching the SOTU is going to impact me. Not very entertaining, so why is it on tv … like most of you, one can catch the highlights on the news, etc.

  30. 30

It was on ever single american station!

  31. 31

It's very simple, if you want to grow the welfare state vote democract.
If you want want the best government money can buy vote republican.

I didn't watch….I was busy in the bathroom.

  32. 32
