Or more accurately, from his mailbox.

Since his violent and scandalous relationship with Oksana Grigorieva became public knowledge, Mel Gibson's locked himself away, Howard Hughes style, in his house to avoid the media. When Summit Entertainment wanted to get his input on the final cut of his movie, The Beaver, they had to send the DVD with a courier to his house.

Once he had screened it, the DVD was placed back in his mailbox so that the courier service could return and bring it back to Summit. The DVD was place back in the box at 10:45 AM Wednesday morning. When the courier arrived at 2:30 PM, the DVD was missing. Someone had stolen it! Dun dun duuuuuun!

Now, the L.A. County Sheriff's Department has mounted a full-on investigation. They will not rest until the person who unlawfully removed the DVD from Mel's mailbox is found ,tarred and feathered and punished by the full extent of the law!

We're just kidding. It's being considered a petty theft. Missing cats are getting more attention from the police than this.

We expect to see the flick leaked on the internet in 3….2….1….

wouldn't it be a federal crime since they took it out of the mailbox? I think it's more than a 'petty theft'

Damn, someone really wanted to get their hands on that DVD!

  4. 4

I don't believe it. Sounds fake.

"We're just kidding. It's being considered a petty theft. Missing cats are getting more attention from the police than this."

Uhh no retard. That is considered mail. If its in a mailbox. Stealing ANYTHING from a mailbox is a federal offense. BUT since it was a DVD of an unreleased movie if that thing gets leaked he will have the FBI on the guys ass as well. Possession of stolen property as well.

  6. 6

No way a studio would leave an unreleased movie that cost millions of dollars just sitting in a mailbox.

  7. 7

Did he call Officer SugarTits and report it stolen? LMAO!!!

  8. 8

Umm isn't that stealing from someone's personal mail? That's a federal offense in the states is it not? Who ever stole is is pretty much fucked. ESPECIAILLY if it's leaked

Please, for the love of all that is good, someone PLEASE explain to me why people would go through the trouble of stealing this assumably shiteous movie…then again, to the few who are curious out there to brave this Mel Gibson project can watch it safely without having to fork over 20 bucks for a movie ticket.

this sounds like some lame story a PR person wrote to drum up publicity for the stupid movie. The movie sounds boring and tedious.

Maybe the mailman picked it up without noticing it didn't have postage (probably did have some kind of address).
After all it's illegal to PUT anything other than mail in a mail box or to take out something from a mailbox unless you are the owner or postal worker. That's why UPS and FedEX can't put small packages in there and "couriers'can't take them out.

Not long before the movie ends up on torrent sites, then?

Re: Christina Polo – That's what I was thinking. Its very possible the mailman picked it up. It wasn't a holiday or a Sunday and my mail is delivered in the afternoon. Although, if the flag is not up, would a mailman take something out of the mailbox?
