Michael Scott Meets David Brent!

| Filed under: TV NewsSteve CarellRicky Gervais

We're just going to say it.

This could have felt forced and stoopid, and it ended up being one of the BEST and most genuinely HIGHlarious moments that the show has had in quite some time.

Check out Ricky Gervais' AMAZING cameo as David Brent on last night's episode of The Office (above)!

They couldn't have done it any more perfectly, as far as we're concerned!

And we're not sure about you, but we took his last little exchange with Steve Carrell's Michael Scott as a HUGE, possibly game-changing hint as to who might be filling his shoes come this season's end!

It would certainly make sense with the hint given HERE!

What do U think?? Is THAT really happening or was it just a red herring??

Who might be? They announced it on NBC the other night! It's Will Ferrell!

I don't like Ricky Gervais, so I hope he doesn't ruin one of my favorite shows. Didn't watch the Golden Globes because he was hosting - just can't stand him.

  3. 3

Will Ferrell is not permanent. He's only signed on to do 4 episodes. I really hope that David Brent takes over. Please please please! He is the perfect guy for this job.

"David Brent" is not taking over. Ricky Gervais announce that a long time ago, and I'm positive you even posted it on your own site. Maybe remember things better?

Re: KimInNB – Sucks to be you then, Ricky Gervais is a god!

    Hahaha that was awesome

    I know, but I still don't like him!!! and…
    Re: IhateObama1
You live a sad life if you truly think that.

Finally, i get to crack up watching the office. Something i haven't been able to do since Jim and Pam got hitched. I still think the show will continue to suck though :(

    Re: KimInNB
You do know he created it with his partner right? The british office is way better. the cringe factor is just brilliant.

  11. 11

ricky gervais has said he is fabulously wealthy and doesn't need to be on The Office
    gotta love Ricky

Nooo to David Brent! You can't even understand Ricky Gervais! But I got the feeling that he might replace him :( In the clip, he asked if there were any openings and Michael said no. David said "just let me know.." Michael ended by saying, "Nice guy." with a prolonged silence afterward. Coincidence? Psh. Michael Scott thinks he's nice now, at least until David Brent takes his job…

Oh God, just let Dwight be Regional Manager!!!!!! PLEASE!

KimInNB - The funny thing about your comment is the fact that there would be no favorite show without Ricky Gervais. He and one other guy (Stephen Merchant) invented the Office….you wouldn't have the American version without them.

I'm not even going to freak out about the possibility of Ricky joining this cast because it's so unlikely, but this was perfect when it could have been a disaster.
That look on Michael's face when David Brent said, "That's what she said"? That was beautiful. It was like he found his soulmate. I can only hope to find someone to put that look on my face.

    Re: KimInNB

Idiot, he created your favorite show, and starred in the superior version of it.

  16. 16

Ugh, I doubt it and sincerely hope not. David Brent would be ruined if Gervais joined this sinking ship. My heart sank a little when I heard him say "that's what she said."

The Dwight character took over on the UK Office when Brent was fired. It was funny in that version; I can think of nothing worse for the US version.

  17. 17

that wasn't funny. i think the reason gervais is always in the us is because most brits don't find him as funny. he's pretty tame compared to most of the comedians over here.

Ok don't get me wrong, I loved this moment immensely, but you're talking like The Office hasn't been funny….
…and yet you think Parks and Recreation is funny…
Whats going on!?!? Who's writing this crap!?!?
