Amazon Vs. Netflix

netflix vs amazon

It's on!

Back in October, we learned that Redbox was planning on taking on Netflix, with their own disc-free rental service.

Now, it looks like Amazon has entered the digital rental service game as well.

If all goes according to plan, their new service will provide Amazon Prime members with "unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of 5,000 movies and TV shows."

Hmm…well Amazon Prime costs $79/year, which ends up being cheaper than a Netflix subscription, BUT will the quality of the content live up to Netflix?

We're thinking this is a cool perk for Amazon Prime members, but def not a Netflix-killer.

Team Netflix? Team Amazon? Team Redbox?

    Team Netflix! :)

If you are an Amazon prime member you know that it has more movies available that Netflix and newer ones…. The movie selection is no comparison, the problem is that Netflix is available in many ways, Bluray, Playstation, etc. Of course Amazon has a team of thousands of software engineers at its disposal that can have the technology very shortly (they are probably already on that…). So today I'm team Netflix, in a few months Amazon all the way….

Well seeing as how I get Prime for free (for being a "student" hehe) I'm team Amazon!!! Plus, Netflix needs a little competition. They're getting ballsy and raising their prices lately.

Team Apple TV!!! I had netflix trial for free for a month and the quality was horrible so was the service. I will NOT change my Apple TV for anything in this world.

Well, I'm an amazon prime member, and love the free 2 day shipping I get on everything I order from them(which is a lot, mostly video games). But we also have a Netflix membership, and I think I'll be sticking with that. The convenience of being able to stream shows/movies through the PS3 is too nice to pass up.
