The Queen Loves The King!

Firth Honored By Queen

Looks like that ADORBS Colin Firth has a new reason to be proud of his role as the King trying to overcome a severe stutter in The King’s Speech, a movie that’s getting critical and popular acclaim from across the board.

What’s that reason? Oh nothing much, except that the Queen of England has given it her full support!

Wow!

The source says:

“The Queen has enjoyed a private screening of the film and was said to be touched by Firth's portrayal of her late father.”

And someone close to the Queen adds:

“The King's Speech is close to the bone as it is a portrayal of her family life in the 1930s.”

We wonder if it’s a little bit weird to watch a story about your own family as Hollywood interprets it. Either way, it can’t be too far off if she enjoyed it!

What did U think of The King's Speech??

Colin Firth is a republican, I doubt he's that bothered.

It was a fantastic movie, complete with brilliant performances by Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, and Geoffrey Rush. I would recommend it to anyone.

a good and decent film. but not a great one. i don't know why it got so many oscar nominations. cinematically, the queen was a way superior film.

This was a great film. The acting by Firth,Carter and Rush as well as the rest of the cast was award winning! I will be seeing it again with friends for the second time this evening. One doesn't see very many good movies with an interesting story line and great acting in the same movie these days.

This was a FANTASTIC movie! Colin Firth was terrific. Geoffrey Rush was great too even though he was suppose to have an Austrailian accent…I couldn't hear it. I enjoy British Films…its a nice change from watching crap movies like No Strings Attached!!

Brilliant film - funny, warm and inspiring. Re: RetroSanta - Australians do not all sound like Steve Irwin. Even within my family. My brother sounds like he is from the outback and my sister sounds like she lives in Toorak (posh Victorian suburb). There are many versions of the accent and back in the period of the film, many Australians (particularly in the media) were supposed to use 'correct' English, which was a version of the RP accent that we associate now with the Queen's accent.

It's not a Hollywood film, it's British. And it's the queen of the UK, not England.

Overrated if u ask me. It's a good movie with great acting from Firth and Rush but other than that a bland movie, kinda forgettable. There are way better movies out there right now.

Saw it yesterday and loved it. Great story….Colin Firth deserves all the awards he is receiving. Really liked Carter and Rush. It was fun to see a lot of the supporting cast who usually show up in Masterpiece Theater and the Harry Potter films (Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) as George V).
