Hayden Panettiere's Lifetime Movie In Trouble!

Whoops! Did someone forget to ask permission before putting this movie into production? We think they did.
Lifetime finds itself in a bit of a jam this week as lawyers representing both Amanda Knox and the family of the roommate she murdered are hoping to stop their original movie about the case.
Both sides have reportedly sent letters requesting the film, which stars Hayden Panettiere, not be aired and threatening legal action should they be ignore. They each have understandable reasons for not wanting to see the film make it to air. For the Kercher family, whose love one was murdered by Amanda Knox, it's a matter of trying to get past the ordeal. The film will undoubtedly trudge up the pain of their loss and that's something they just don't want to face. For Amanda Knox and her legal team, they are sure Hayden was not the right choice for the role the film will cause prejudice in their attempt to get an appeal going.
The flick is supposed to air on Lifetime at the end of the month and so far, the network seems keen on forging ahead with the film as they feel they've " been careful" to tell the story in an impartial way.
We do think it was rather indelicate of them not to alert the Kercher family of their intentions before making this movie. They've been through so much already, we hate to think of this causing them even more pain.
What do U think?

Another New X Factor Promo!

I'm sure the Knox family doesn't appreciate this line: "For the Kercher family, whose love one was murdered by Amanda Knox, it's a matter of trying to get past the ordeal." Thanks Perez, for siding with a sheisty Italian court who cared more about convicting an American rather than getting all the evidence straight.
If you know anything about this case there is a HUGE lack of evidence incriminating Amanda and it is VERY doubtful that she would have ever been convicted in the US court system. I think the tone of this article implying her guilt is insulting.
It's on Lifetime, what harm could it possibly do? Me thinks that people just want money.
SHE DID NOT MURDER HER YOU DUMB FUCK!
I'm upset with this article. There's clearly a lack of evidence that she killed that girl. Your tone is not appreciated, Perez.
good job reporting this story in your own unique "impartial" way
I think it's sick that they're making this movie and I think it will hurt Knox's appeal. So tacky. It should be illegal to make a movie like this while she's trying to appeal her conviction.
Damn,If this wasnt based on real events,or atleast if there was proof and the case was settled on the fact she killed her….it would be a good movie..lol but thats clearly not the case.
I'm tired of you Americans. Amanda Know lied to the police when they found her outside Meredith's home and the knife that was used to kill the English girl was used by Amanda: there was her dna on it.
We convicted Amanda and Sollecito, a fellow italian, and the victim was from UK, so you can't even say we wanted vengeance for something. And last thing, probably you don't know but WE ITALIANS CREATED LAW.
yo perez you should really research this stuff before you taint the public´s perception of amanda knox, especially since a lot of people will only know who she is through this stupid post. there is a huge lack of physical evidence against this girl linking her to the crime. did you know the way she was convicted was because an illegal alien who is also a known drug dealer with a criminal record was also indicted and convicted of the crime and was given a plea bargain to implicate amanda knox? did you know that the burden of proof in italy is on the defendant rather than the prosecution, IE one is guilty until proven innocent? damn perez watch out if you go to italy cuz its definitely NOT the US and their judicial system makes about as much sense as having berlusconi for a president….you know who that is right??
Re: addicted89 – a knife with amanda knox´s dna on it…in the house she lived in?!?! how can it be?!?! lord knows women never cook!!!!
Re: addicted89 – romans created law…italians elected (and re elect?) berlusconi…
YEAH, well….i truly believe that all this fuss is just because for the first time ever in Italy an american who committed homicide has been judged and proved guilty. I understand the pain of Kercher family, but this is not the first movie about a murder, and they have no power against it. It is, on the contrary, the first time that an american is sent to jail by an italian court, and it's almost a miracle, considering that every time an american kills somebody here (and it happens more often than u think, or know), it's free to go back home, just because he or she is american - knox has been made an example, and it was about time.
Amanda is guilty! Wonder why she was bleaching down their house in the early hours? She also lied to the police numerous times. Then her DNA is on the knife that killed Meredith. Those hateful Italians picking on poor Amanda.
Wow perez you must know somthing I dont.Because what I seen and read there was another party in there, and I think the defence wants to bring him back in the picture. The way it looks to me is that the Illitallian goverment is trying to make amanda knox and her boyfriend patsy"s to the crime!
i love how you are defending amanda, guys, cause she is american and accusing this one guy from holland - when theres not enough evidence. double standards!
From what I have read (both Italian, US and UK papers) she shouldn't have been convicted. Both her and her boyfriend were set up and the police did a lousy job. So sad…be careful if you do any study abroad.
Last time I checked, Amanda's rights under Italian law were almost complely violated. Oh, and there's that little incident of the local bar manager obssessed with Amanda Knox and whom had the night off, while Amanda and her man were out on the town. Oh, and that manager happens to be American. Oh, again, one can be sued for libel for printing statements like "the roomater she murdered" innstead of "the roomate she was convicted of mudering." It's easy to see what side you're on. Maybe you'de switch sides, so to speak, if the movie featured her hot (hollywood) Boyfriend. Me thinks so. Amanda's case is in appeal right now, and you are certainly making comments which could be harmful to her case. I doubt you've even done anyresearch, particularly in light of your ever-increasing typos. Do some research on her and her case, or better yet, get your lazy ass out of your bedroom or club openings and fly to Italy to actually speak to the girl.
First of all, she was convicted of murder in an itilian court that completly mishandled the little evidence they had. In italy and most of the rest of the world, apparantly you are guilty before being proven innocent. You should actuallyl do some research before posting ignorant posts. The case is up for appeal.
Re: addicted89 –
First of all, the murder weapon was never found. Let's not invent evidence here. Amanda Knox was Kercher's roommate, of course they would find her outside of the house trying to come home.
Reviewing this case, there is a shocking lack of physical evidence for there to have been a murder conviction. It's bad press and ignorance that got her convicted and it's bad press and ignorance from movies like this that will keep her in jail.
Do you know nothing? There is a reason this is being talked about so much. There is serious doubt as to whether or not Amanda Knox actually murdered anyone, as others have said.
Get your facts straight.
Dear lord Perez get INFORMED before you report on something! She might have been convicted in Italy but that certainly doesn't prove anything. Just look at the Italian justice system. This is atrocious how you can be so ignorant on such an important subject. An innocent university student, much like the thousands of university students who come to your website everyday, has been in jail for over three years for a crime she didnt commit all for being the chosen scapegoat by the media for the complete idiocy of the Italian police force. This is too much of an important issue for you to just blindly right on. I hope you read this because the evidence is there that she didn't commit this crime and this is a story that hits home with a lot of North Americans. Read up on the fucking information. Jesus.
Re: addicted89 – You must be one of the most stupid people in the world. If you read that then you must have read that the knife of which you talk about does NOT match the killing wound on Meredith's neck. Thanks for coming out.
Re: mad_la – It's called fucking evidence. You should read it and see the lack of it.
Re: addicted89 – Just wondering- Italian created the? Or do all Italians think they are direct relatives of Hammurabai? Wow! Because I've never, ever heard that before. Also, it isn't only Americans who believe this girl to be innocent. Did you not hear about the copious amount of evidence pointing to her innocence that the judge threw out of court? BTW, I'm not American and her name is Amanda Knox, not Amanda Know.
Re: t0rrents – You are so right! And do know what else? Hammurabi's Code was the first written set of laws. But he/she shows his/her prejudice and ignorance by first not doing any research on the case (unless you count reading the Italian version of The National Enquirer) and second by claiming the Italians wrote the first laws! Sorry… I have to go call my history major friends so that we can laugh our asses off of that comment! To bad, though. Lifetime should have known MUCH better than to air this right when her appeal was pending. Disgusting.
Re: giunz – Exactly. She was made an exaple of. Thank-you. I couldn't have said it better.
Re: LilyDaleGirl07 – Sorry. My own typos are an embarrassment.
Um dont you mean "that she ALLEGEDLY murdered" ??! Like others have commented, there is a HUGE amount of information pointing towards Amanda's defense… anyone who knows anything about this case knows that she is most likely innocent but stuck in a foreign country's legal system that unfairly has kept her in jail.
Re: LilyDaleGirl07 – I meant"created the law," obviously. Sorry folks for all of the typos, but Mario has just pissed me off.
wow people are defending someone who's clearly a murderer?
i really wanna see that movie. hayden is an amazing actress.
Did both families also pull all articles about the murder from the newspapers? Did they sue every news team that reported on it? Did they files claims against everyone ever that's spoken about it?
I didn't think so.
Oh….and everyone shut up. You act like you knew these people personally and all of you are suddenly world class lawyers and detectives. Go back to finger fucking your farmvilles, keyboard warriors.
I don't think we know that Amanda Knox is guilty. I'm not convinced either way, but I suspect she isn't
Re: KatMG – swearing doesnt make you any wiser
Re: mad_la – when did i ever say that it did? and commenting on my swearing doesn't make you wiser. like I said do your own research you *fucking* tool.
Well I can't take sides on this case because there is not enough evidence to convict Amanda of the crime at al.. But at the same time there's just something off about Amanda that doesm't make her seem to be innocent. Maybe se didn't kill Meredith Kercher, but maybe she knows something about the murder but won't tell anyone out of fear perhaps? Who knows? All I know is that the ONLY person who does know who the true killer is poor Meredith who died a VERY painful, slow, and brutal death. Hopefully some day her killer will be caught.
Ooooohhhhh, this is TOO classic! addict89- your president has to face a panel of 3 female judges fo being nearly caught with hid pants around his ankles with a 17 year-old Prostitute! But hey! Y'all invented law, right?? I'm sure he'll get off (pun intended)! CLASSIC!
Re: shayneSMASH – You know, some of "us" don't even play farmville, or whatever. Also, I'm sure, some of us have researched whatever information we could find. As a History/Poli Sci major, I researched everything I could. I don't know who committed this crime, but I know a key piece of evidence in Amanda's defense was thrown out and I do know that the Italian justice system makes the American justice system look like Disnyland. So pleas, stop typecasting everyone. If it bothers you so, so much, just don't ever visit or comment on this site again.
1) The knife that had Kersher's DNA on it was found in Amanda's boyfriends house the next morning. Both of the other roommates identified that the knife was not from their own home- however, it somehow had Kersher's DNA on it…. HOWEVER- it is worth noting that the amount of DNA is very minuscule - so much so that it could simply be from Amanda touching a door handle, walking to her boyfriends, and touching the knife- leaving Kercher's DNA on the handle. The knife is going to be taken apart and re-tested in the appeal process.
2) Amanda's DNA was not found in the bedroom where Kercher was murdered… however… the police swept the house clean and only found 1 fingerprint of Amanda's throughout the entire house, which would suggest it had been cleaned thoroughly (considering she lived in that house).
3) According to both of Amanda's roommates who testified against her - she had been acting extremely "strange" after the murder… whilst everyon else was huddled around crying as the investigation went on, Amanda and her boyfriend stood at the side laughing and kissing each other. Each detective also reported that Amanda was sticking her tongue out and crossing her eyes at the police station, and even did a cartwheel? When they presented Amanada with evidence that she had used her cellphone to text message her boss, contrary to her previous "story", she began shaking uncontrollably.
4) She skipped the roommate's memorial… to go lingerie shopping with her boyfriend? This is the biggest mystery to me…
5) Amanda's roommate, Filepena, testified that not only was Amanda acting incredibly strange, but that she called Filepena in the morning when she found Kercher - when Amanda had previously testified that she kept her phone off– also, Filepena stated that Amanda had a large scrape down her neck. Police examined pictures from the time of the murder and recognized this to be true.
6) The obvious point - Amanda lied about her whereabouts… first she was not at the house… then when she was questioned separately from her boyfriend and he admitted she was not with him, she stated that she WAS at the house and heard her roommates screams… then again states she wasn't there?
7) She pinned it on her boss. She admitted that she knew it wasn't him - and had 14 days while this innocent man was being detained to admit she was wrong.. .but failed to acknowledge this "mistake" until his solid alibi set him free.
