R.I.P. Guitar Hero

Sad. We know a lot of people who wasted enjoyed a lot of hours rocking out with this game.

Activision Blizzard Inc. has announced they are ending the "Guitar Hero" franchise after a run of more than five years. Over the past year, the game has become an "unprofitable product" for the company, so they've opted to cut their losses.

The decision to end the franchise of musical video games will also mean a loss of about 500 jobs in its Activision Publishing business division.

Such a bummer.

Our condolences to all those who have lost their jobs and those who have lost their favorite past time.

Hope those that lose their jobs can find something else quickly.

You always word certain stuff in such a way to offend SOMEone…I enjoy rhythm games and don't think of my time playing them as being "wasted." And coming from someone that spends their time collecting information and useless media news from other websites makes me LOL..
And I'm a regular visitor for your website, how bout some respect and not bash people that enjoy video games…

what exactly did i say that called for it to get removed? wow..sense: that made none.

Perez—where do you get your news? I wanted to comment on your previous story about King Abdullah dying of a heart attack, but the comments were off. So I'll leave it here. Try checking your sources…he is quite alive and still recovering from a previous surgery he had in Nov.

Also, too bad about Guitar Hero. Good game.

Maybe if they hadn't come out with how many games in those 5 years, we wouldn't have been inundated with masses of games with garbage libraries.

so does this mean the guitars will be cheaper? lol
    not!

btw "wasting" time…1 to 3 hrs or so playing a game is better then spend it reading this mindless drivel ALL THE TIME! (only need like 15 to 30 min for that depends on how much i have to catch up on and if i bother commenting on half the crap)
