We guess he's still got draw!

Last night's premiere of Matthew Perry's new show, Mr. Sunshine, pulled in about 10.6 million viewers, and a 3.7 preliminary adults 18-49, making it not only ABC's highest rated new series to debut this season, but also the network's best numbers for the time frame in 16 MONTHS.

Wow! That's pretty impressive!

Congratulations, bb!

We're very happy to see you and former Friends co-star Courteney Cox finding new shows that work for you!

Hopefully Matt LeBlanc's will follow suit!

Thoughts??

Matt's show IS working out very well!! Don't you have Showtime? It's hilarious. What, you don't like Matt? This story could have been reversed. You play favorites Perez. Matthew Perry's camp must have kissed your butt.

Great comedy and big laughs! I had forgotten how good Matthew Perry was.

Watched the show last night. Allison Janney was hillarious. I must admit that Matthew Perry was not the highlight for me and actually would have preferred for him not to be on the show. The second he made that Chandler face and noise, I got annoyed. This isn't Friends. I have the whole series if I want to watch it. Thankfully, it is still early…Please Mathew, change your character up a bit. That Chandler personality is way too over the top for this show. It seemed out of place with the other actors. I'll still watch next week. It was funny.

Dear Perez, or whoever writes this column for you, could you stop calling EVERYONE bb?? Seriously, is everyone your bb? And as for waiting for Matt Leblanc to have a hit show — hey, you wrote about that very show a few weeks ago, Episodes, on Showtime. Remember? Do any of the people who write this website for you actually read it? Remember a few weeks ago you "outed" Jonathan Knight from NKOTB, the same way you had done 2 years prior?

i actually liked the show. it was good.
and umm doesnt matt have a show on showtime thats doing good?

If you took out the screen-time in which Matthew Perry mugged for the camera, you'd end up with a 15 minute sit-com. The saving graces were Allison Janey and Jorge Garcia… there's something you could build a show around.

It didn't hurt that it followed Modern Family. I'll catch the next one…

Matthew Perry is one of my faves… and he did not disappoint… I loved it! Really quirky, damn good new show…

It was good. I LMAO at the clowns. Yep, he still can deliver a line. This is good for ABC.

I'm shocked you people liked it! I thought it was trite and just plain stupid. I will NOT watch it again. (What were you people on who liked it????)

  13. 13

i like Matthew Perry, but the ratings will drop fast. You seem to be behind on Matt LeBlanc's career, he is currently in one of the funniest shows to come around in years, on showtime.

I was devastated when Studio 60 was canceled (as a die-hard fan of both Friends and The West Wing, and a huge Bradley Whitford gal), so it's good to see Perry team up with another WW alum. Big kudos to the whole team- quirky and silly but I'm sure we'll get some great smart humor out of them soon, too! Also, nice grab with Jorge Garcia! Definitely need more of him!

I wouldn't worry about Matt LeBlanc's career, as his girlfriend plays "Alice" (Matthew Perry's girlfriend) in Mr. Sunshine, so either way, good money is coming into their house.

  16. 16

Don't worry about Matt Leblanc. His real-life girlfriend (Andrea Anders) plays "Alice" on Mr. Sunshine, so "Chandler and Joey" are still connected and good money is coming into the Leblanc/Anders house.

  17. 17

Re: Cassielyn – I completely agree with you. I like Matthew Perry in some things, but the amount of mugging and overdone body gestures he did in this was screaming "desperate" to me.

  18. 18

It was OK, but Perry needs to tone down his delivery.

  19. 19

I watched about half the show. It wasn't too bad, but I liked Allison Janney much more than Perry. The scene where she lost her pill was hilarious! I think viewers will get tired of Perry's scowl and eye rolling pretty fast. He has to try to make an unlikeable character likeable. Like Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). Sometimes I want to smack her face, but doing so while chuckling my butt off.

  20. 20

I don't think he should tone ANYTHING down. He was perfect. Most people who watch probably want to see a bit of Chandler. Afterall, it is what made him famous, and it's probably why most people tuned in. At least that's why I did, because I missed me some Chandlerism.

Excellent cast but this show will be cancelled. I was bored to tears watching it and wondered how ABC could cancel Better off Ted for this?… Andrea Anders is a very funny actress but she seems to have a "sitcom curse".

This was a great show! Very funny! Matthew Perry nailed it!
