Which Glee Character Is Bi??

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayGleeDarren CrissLGBT

Spoiler Alert!!

One of your beloved characters on Glee could be coming out as bisexual!

And that person is…

According to sources, Blaine, played by the very delicious Darren Criss, will have "an encounter with a pivotal member of the opposite gender [in an upcoming episode] … afterwards, he's forced to consider the possibility that he swings both ways."

Hmm, we're not sure how we feel about this. Blaine is written as a very confident gay teen who knows what he wants. Could this be confusing to viewers?

why do people watch this gay show? you guys need some serious help. this show is really stupid. a bunch of no talented freaks. they all looks so gay. i bet the only people who watch this show are people who still live in their mothers basements. lol you guys are pathetic. a bunch of ugly ass nerds.

  2. 2

You just want gay everywhere. I like the idea of a bisexual character. You need variety. Not everything has to be gay or straight.

  3. 3

Life is confusing.. So yay! I hope they manage to make it real =) Blaine is hot either way.. =D

  4. 4

    SO STUPID!!!

  5. 5

So? They've already done the bi thing with Santana and Brittany.

  6. 6

Noooo, Perez! Please! "don't know how you feel about this?" There is something so normal and healthy about teens being able to experiment and not feeling ashamed to do so. Blaine has even admitted to seeming like he has the answers but being unsure about the actual circumstances of dating.

  7. 7

I think that could make for an interesting storyline- and something pretty revolutionary, too. A)It's gonna cause all sorts of issues for Kurt to wrestle with, because he's always 'competed' with women for male attention, never successfully. He finally meets another openly gay teen, and the guy develops feelings for a woman? Brilliant! B)Just like a person can be mostly straight but a LITTLE bit gay, a person can be mostly gay and a LITTLE bit straight. I like the idea that a television show would show other spectrums on the Kinsey scale.

  8. 8

    The networks playing it safe.

  9. 9

oh no poor kurt!! I felt so bad for him when blaine sang for the gap guy, poor kurt

  10. 10

This means maybe he will be able to fall in love with me! sigh.

but I cant see this being true… it would be really strange for them to change his character so drastically. blaine is amazing and he needs to be with KURT!

  11. 11

i think you're jumping the gun a little bit. The original source links back to a "blind item" saying that a "confirmed bachelor" (sounds like an adult), on a hit show (there are several hit shows with gay characters), who is long awaited by the ladies (blaine has only been around for 4-5 episodes) to come out as bi. Though it could be Blaine I think you should wait for confirmation from the actors/ creators before you post spoilers/speculation.

  12. 12

i knew this was going to happen..

  13. 13

Good I'm glad he's bi. You can shut the fuck up perez, just because you want him to be 100% gay that doesn't mean he has to be.

  14. 14

FINALLY. I'm so tired of just gay characters. We need variety. I hope this isn't just for one episode. I hope it's for the long haul.

  15. 15

Darren Criss is literally the hottest man i've ever seen. I'm happy as long as he stays on Glee…

  16. 16

I TOTALLY thought SAM was the Bisexual character. Why must Blaine be bi!?! NOOOO He's GAY. urgh…wtf.

  17. 17

I knew it !!! When i saw Rachel and Blaine together i was like … PERFECT COUPLE ALERT. They would be perfect for eachother! On and off stage!

  18. 18

Oh well gee, now there's no point in watching. God Mario, you're still a dork. Why do you need to say anything. Why can't you wait to discuss it after it's been alert. Just another bully tactic.

  19. 19

Yesss! Now I have a chance with him :)

  20. 20

That would be terrible- he is supposed to be a strong character for gays to relate to and now they are saying he is bi? Why? Because the girl audience likes him? That would set a terrible example! I don't mind a bi storyline- just not with a character already established as gay!

  21. 21

Urggghhh Perez, fuck OFF! If he was a very confident STRAIGHT teen who knows what he wants, you'd be all over this storyline. I think it's a nice twist on the now-predictable bisexual "twist".

  22. 22

This is really getting annoying! They're definitely doing this on purpose now. They're too scared to have a gay couple on the show so they're just changing things every time you think Blaine and Kurt are finally going to get together. I love Glee, but I'm seriously getting sick of all of the random plot changes and drama being thrown in where it isn't needed. They're not making the show any more interesting by doing this!

  23. 23

God forbid a character not be 100% gay. Seriously Perez, open your eyes to the world- no everything swings one way or the other.

  24. 24

    Confusing for you, pea brain.

  25. 25

My only problem with this is that they'll probably have him kiss the girl and find out that he's unsure, or something. The problem is that while he's "gay" for now, he's never kissed a guy on the show? So if they present him as bisexual, but only have him be affectionate with a girl, THERE is the double standard.

Of course, if it turns out that I'm wrong, I eat my words.

  26. 26

is a teen they suppos to be confuss for everything , is ok Blaide come to be the bi caracter , and is not the only bi … Santaba and Brit, hello , o i now becouse they re girls is ok becouse re girl on girl right? isnt ok … iquality !

  27. 27

In which way do I not give a shit

  28. 28

this kind of puts a damper on the show in my opinion…

  29. ONIT says – reply to this

I'd rather have Sam get drunk and have an one-night stand with Blaine AND Santana. lol

  30. 30

    this sucks. no bi blaine!

  31. 31

you wouldn't be saying "it might be confusing for the viewers" if it was a very "confident straight character" considering the possibility he might swing both ways… You'd be going all "YAAAY people need to see everything is possible when it comes to your sexuality!!!!" and all that crap in that case… Hypocrite much? If you're for acceptance, then be for acceptance, for ALL, like you claim to be…

  32. Low says – reply to this

Sounds like a sell out move that could backfire on them. They got so much press like the EW "Gay Teens" cover.

    I don't like it.

  33. 33

Re: white_is_ugly – Obvious troll is obvious.

  34. ayan says – reply to this

maybe this is part of a bigger story line…like u now kurt find in blaine someone that may be an example of confidence on youreself and have a friend like him, but in the end having a relationship with Karofsky wich is the one a really like for kurt becouse he is confuse and scared of being gay after all hes done and the way his teen mates see hin so ill be nice see that despite the fact that dave threats and humiliate kurt is becouse he loves him but he cant so thats the way he push him away and be one of the guys…like he should be, a bad ass football straight guy that cant be with another guy specially if that guy is cream fashion adicted(an yet awsome)…so im cool with blaine doing what he want with anyone he want as long he is a neutral zone for kurt like the one with the cool advice like bestfriend/brother/father type….becouse cris colfer carater is in the center of the spotlight and its going to be soooo awsome see what ryan murphy have prepare for us…just lets try be patiens and enjoy the show an the songs and heather morris and naya rivera XD (i know i'll do it jajajaja)

  35. 35

OMG NOO I DONT WANT HIM TO BE BI!! He's perfectly good just gay!!

  36. 36

I enjoy the fact that there could be a bisexual person because as a bi guy myself, there's hardly anyone series to relate to on tv.

But come on… Blaine? I think this is just a way to continue to not have Kurt and Blaine date. God forbid there's a gay relationship with two "teenagers" on Fox. God forbid.

  37. 37

Well Perez, I am Bi. And figuring that out WAS CONFUSING. Fuck, way to offend members of the lBgt community with your ignorant comment.

  38. 38

I think that this is a horrible idea for the sheer fact that Blaine was introduced to us by Ryan Murphy as the confident gay character who helps Kurt out. I am not saying that Kurt and Blaine have to date, but Blaine has accepted his sexuality. Most gay peopel go through questioning THEN accept that they are gay. Blaine as already accepted his sexuality, professed his love (publicly) for a guy, and now he might have a one episode fling with a girl? I don't mind the idea of that, as long as it isn't sexual. gay guys can have close girl friends that they flirt with, but don't take things further with.

  39. 39

I agree that's it's not a great idea, but honestly, I would be happy to watch this guy make out with ANYBODY! lol

  40. BonsD says – reply to this

Actually I think the character that they are going to make BI is Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet) who was originally signed on as Kurt's love interest. I think they are going to go back to that now after Santana scares him out of dating women.

  41. 41

I love the show but think this is a stupid move. Very disappointing.

  42. 42

Re: white_is_ugly – Wow…..you need a good fuck. All that pent up sexual frustration is making you a dumb ass hate-filled moron. Get laid, feel better.

  43. 43

I think the Bi character will be Finn. He had this weird sexual tension with Sam when Sam first came on. I think it would be more responsible to explore that before the Blaine gay vs bi story line.

  44. 44

Don't really like this :( Don't get me wrong, I think the idea of having a bi character is awesome, just don't make it Blaine. Look, he's already done a lot as Blaine as like,a strong, confident gay teen male. He doesn't have to be the poster boy for every cause on the show.

  45. 45

Confusing, are you kidding… this is Glee for goodness sakes! I think the majority of the population could handle such an episode. It is ONLY television :)

  46. 46

I like it the show needs some Bi people in it. Im I the only one who likes the gay football player I think him and kurt would be good for each other.
Re: white_is_ugly – People like the show because its fun and happy not everyone want to watch dumbshit like Jersey Shore or other stupid ass fake ass reality shows. it is for people who are diffrent not just gays but for anyone who wants to have a voice in this world but can't because dumbass assholes like you teach kids at a young age men play football and woman shut up an cook an being diffrent is wrong. you are an ignorant asshole.

  47. 47

TERRIBLE IDEA because the character is supposed to be Out and Proud. That means he has already gone through this. To do it now, means he's a flake or a liar about being Out and Proud.

I would not be bothered by this development in his or any other character if they had not been NON STOP the past couple of months going on about how Blaine is confident and comfortable with being gay,, just not about other things in life.

It gives the impression that he is made a 'choice' that he is regretting or that he made a 'choice' before he knew enough about himself. No matter how they handle it, it would turn out bad, only because he is supposed to be beyond that. It makes geing gay the problem instead of the fact that the only problem with being gay is how other people treat you when they are ignorant or misinformed.

  48. 48

its rumored he discovers this when he kisses a drunken rachel in the episode after this tuesday!
i dont know about this…i mean i feel like he would know if he was bi, its not something u "discover" by kissing someone. u know ur gay if ur attracted to the same sex, and he would probs know he was bi already.
and the actor is straight in real life so if there isnt a kiss i might stop watching this show…klaine!!!

  49. 49

Haters….Grow up! You can't allow yourself the luxury of being ignorant forever.

  50. 50

People are forgetting that the problem isn't that a character can be bi, or thinks they might, or whatever,, but for the character Blaine, he is ALREADY supposed to have gone through this. It is insulting to think of it in any other way. It would be TOTALLY DIFFERENT if the character were confidently straight first, only because that is the way most people are and are assumed to be. Gay people have to deal with the fact that they realize that their feelings are different than what is expected and what is in the majority.
It would be less insulting for it to happen to Kurt, because his character is still forming (great realistic issue of just because a guy is feminine doesn't automatically mean his has to be gay, since society makes fun of him otherwise). This aspect of Blaine, however, was presented as completed when he first appeared, and this is why even the idea of him going through it is demeaning.
What if Puck decided he was a white racist and refused to sing with Mercedes, Tina, and Mike, but then after thinking about it awhile decided it was ok?? He has mentioned before that he helps Jewish people more than others, so some amount of 'racism' is in him. However, that would just trivialize the issue to where the whole idea is insulting. That's the same thing here. It would be VERY different if Blaine had just been presented as another gay teen like Kurt at another school — but he wasn't.

  51. 51

I love you Perez, but for someone who preaches about embracing diversity you are failing epicly with your comments in this post. People would be surprised at fluid sexuality can be. I think its wonderful that not only are they introducing bisexuality (though i hate that term) in a legitimate way, but they are also making it a MALE bisexual. This does amazing things for our perception of masculinity in this country by showing that your sexuality does not define your gender identity. It helps drive home larger points about sexuality and that its okay to experiment and you shouldn't be demonized if you fall somewhere in the middle. If people took a good hard look at what "excites" them, I think everyone would be extremely surprised at their own levels of sexual fluidity. Boxes and labels are for people who don't get that they don't matter. Who I sleep with does not an identity make.

  52. 52

You mean compared to being completely gay?

  53. 53

I prefer him as a gay role model. He's gay and very comfortable with that fact. Santana and Brittney are bi already. I guess gay guys get confused too, but I still like him as totally gay and proud.

  54. 54

the truth is the ladies can't resist Darren Criss. It's just not fair if he's gay, ok?

plus he's Harry freaking Potter and everyone knows that he ends up with Ginny (whose a girl)

  55. 55

Sexuality is confusing, Perez. It'd be nice if your bias wasn't so transparent.

  56. maude says – reply to this

Why would that be a negative thing?! Sexual confusion HAPPENS. Get over it. And I don't think it has anything to do with appealing to the female audience. We all have puck, finn, shu, etc, for christ' sake!

  57. 57

Is the network trying to make him appeal more to tween girls?

    ugh. Bastards.

  58. 58

I think it would be less confusing to bisexual viewers who are told (by gays and straights alike) that they don't know what their own feelings are or what they're talking about. Isn't it time that a show acknowledged that being attracted to both sexes isn't a myth (especially for men)?

  59. 59

No, this shouldn't be Blaine! I'm all for a bisexual character, but this character has been already established as a homosexual, someone that was supposed to help Kurt deal with and understand his sexuality. Now all of a sudden he's not going to be sure of his own sexuality.
What message is this putting out there? That gay kids could just be confused so they should experiment with the opposite sex just to figure it out. This totally contradicts that whole point of Kurt and Blaine's storyline.

I would strongly advise making another character, female or male, a bisexual character.

  60. 60

it should be sam! then kurt will finally have a break where he has blaine, sam and dave all interested at once!
or to shock people it should be SHU!

  61. 61

    That is good

  62. 62

I like the idea because even though Blaine is shown as a gay that know's what he wants..he is a teenager..which no teenager I ever heard of knew what they wanted on the first try..it would be a good addition to the storyline i feel.

  63. 63

is darren criss straight in real life? if he is, i'm sure he had something to do with it.

  64. 64

Re: slayboy88 – the story line would be realistic and good if it wasn't for the fact that they have been marketing non stop since october that Blaine was Out and Proud and confident about being gay. That means he has already gone through this in his life. To do it now means he is a liar, a flake, or they mean to convey the message that even though someone thinks they are gay, they must constantly question if they still feel that way because maybe they just haven't met the right straight person to fall in love with yet? It's the very idea that causes gay teens to think they are different than the majority of people because it's somehow their fault for not trying hard enough to 'change.'. It wouldn't be such a big issues if they hadn't done all the interviews stressing the Out, Proud, and confidently gay meme.

  65. 65

ANOTHER stupid mistake by Ryan Murphy! "Glee" has lost its way with ridiculous story lines, too many characters and too much of the best character on TV (Sue Sylvester). Sad. This WAS such a great show and Ryan's ego has him surrounded by "yes" men who keep applauding his bad choices.

  66. 66

Re: bep1976 – Except for the fact how in every interview, he says how awesome the character of Blaine is and how honored he is to play him.

  67. 67

i think this is why alot of people though Blaine would turn out being bi…shotty "reporting"

"which Glee character is bi?" is the title of this story but the quote clearly says "…afterwards, he's forced to consider the possibility that he swings both ways."

CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY…doesn't mean he will turn out bi.
